Airing from 2005 to 2013, NBC’s The Office has become one of the most beloved sitcoms not only on the network, but rather in the overall TV shows’ history. Millions of fans around the world constantly revise the adventures of the Dunder Mifflin employees.
However, few of them know that, back in 2010, NBC released a similar show about the hilarious office workers and the difficulties of managing them. Some Reddit users still hail it and complain about its rapid conclusion after one 22-episode season.
The series’ plot revolves around Todd Dempsy, an executive manager at Mid American Novelties, a company that sells novelty items of various degrees of uselessness. His calm life is turned upside down when he’s relocated to India to run an outsourced call center.
There Todd realizes that the employees are completely unaware of American popular culture, while he himself struggles to get used to Indian one.

It’s almost time for one last check-in to “Room 104.” Mark and Jay Duplass’ ethereal HBO anthology series will premiere its fourth and final season on July 24 and IndieWire is exclusively premiering the season’s first trailer.
The half-hour episodes, which hail from the “Togetherness” creators and centers on various travelers who pass through a room in a typical American chain motel, have been compared to “The Twilight Zone” for their deft blend of surreality, horror, and surprises. The series’ new trailer promises to explore a dizzying range of genres and characters for the series’ send-off and even teases a glimpse at the season’s original songs, one of which will be performed by Duplass.
Per HBO, Season 4 will also include the series’ first-ever animated episode, and the premiere entry will mark the first time that Mark Duplass stars, writes, directs, and performs original music for the series. Stories...

"Stop thinking! What are you feeling...?" Gravitas has debuted the trailer for an indie drama titled Lost Transmissions, the feature directorial debut of Los Angeles filmmaker Katharine O'Brien. This premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival last year, and also stopped by the Shanghai, Nashville, Whistler, and Glasgow Film Festivals. When an acclaimed music producer goes off his meds for schizophrenia, a young songwriter chases him though La's music scene trying to get him psychiatric care, revealing the troubling inadequacies of our mental health care system in the process. Based on a true story, Lost Transmissions is an intimate look at human emotions and the devastating reality of treating mental illness in a system that doesn’t seem equipped to deal with it. Starring Simon Pegg and Juno Temple, with Jamie Harris, Tao Okamoto, Rebecca Hazlewood, Bria Vinaite, and Alexandra Daddario. Looks a bit cheesy but might be alright. Here's the...

Jameela Jamil is feeling good about being on “The Good Place” right now. Jamil found her cheerful, serial name-dropping character Tahani Al-Jamil going on an interesting journey in Season 3 as she learned to be more forgiving and selfless in her altruism. “I feel like she’s done a lifetime’s journey of evolving and learning all in the space of three seasons,” Jamil says, admitting that the unique cosmic circumstances she and her friends are in “forces them to grow up very, very fast.” Watch our exclusive video interview above.
Playing Tahani has caused Jamil to understand what makes certain people so annoying, empathizing with them more and getting to “the root of why they’re so annoying and how those symptoms manifest.” Some of Tahani’s pretensions stem from the competitive, fractured relationship she has with her publicly adored sister, Kamilah (Rebecca Hazlewood). Updated with Jamil Twitter response: Twitter erupted tonight when The Good Place’s Jameela Jamil was identified in an on-screen caption as Kamilah Al-Jamil instead of her real name. Kamilah Al-Jamil is a character in the NBC hit, played by Rebecca Hazlewood; Jamil plays Kamilah’s sister, Tahani Al-Jamil.

The internet was split on its response at first, not knowing if it was a prank.
Jamil was a good sport about the whole thing, tweeting “This is legit the funniest thing I have ever seen. What a joyous mistake. Tahani would Die!” She followed with “Hands down the greatest of red carpet jokes from whoever did this. It’s made my night.”
Two presenters addressed the mistake as the caption appeared on TV. “And Jameela Jamil, you know your name girl, how could we not?...

Tahani really can’t catch a break.
On E!’s live broadcast of the 2019 Golden Globes Awards red carpet, an on-screen caption labeled “The Good Place” actress Jameela Jamil as another character on the show.
Jamil plays reformed socialite Tahani Al-Jamil on the NBC comedy, and the caption labeled the British actress as “Kamilah Al-Jamil,” Tahani’s sister, who is played by Rebecca Hazlewood — and always overshadows her sibling.

White Collar is in the business for a bad guy that you can really fall in love with because he’s so hateable. I can’t remember the last TV bad guy I hated as much as anyone Zeljko Ivanek played in the last decade. The man has turned love-to-hate villains into an art form. Whether it was an extended arc on Heroes or a guest-spot on Lost, he always found a way to make me hate him to an extraordinary extreme. It’s an exquisite quality to have as an actor. White Collar is lucky to have him, even if they’ll only have him for a single episode. That’s really all he needs to make you want to see him die.

Forsythe lands in the FBI’s crosshairs when he is suspected of orchestrated a “dino-mite” heist — that is, the theft of a Tyrannosaurus Rex fossil and its egg, which together are worth millions.

After what seems like a lifetime, Grey’s Anatomy returned with "One Step Too Far," an episode that proved this series can still bring the drama with the best of them.
The hour focused on pushing boundaries but knowing when you crossed the line. The staff flirts with each other, Catherine Avery uses another doctor as a spy on her son, Mark pushes Jackson to find fun; and most of these are innocent enough. But occasionally, they go too far. Such as Owen dropping the bombshell on his suspecting wife. Let’s discuss.
Uncle Phil! James Avery guest starred as a grieving husband and reminded us why his time on Fresh Prince of Bel Air was so enjoyable. The man can make you feel! Rebecca Hazelwood brought the sexy as Catherine Avery’s co-worker, and Summer Glau returned as Nurse Emily. All three guests were pretty much awesome. Speaking of Nurse Emily.

The little sitcom that caused a lot of controversy last summer has quietly ended its run. NBC has cancelled Outsourced after one season on the air.
Outsourced follows a Us sales manager, Todd Dempsey (Ben Rappaport), who's assigned to supervise his company's call center in India. The sitcom also stars Anisha Nagarajan, Diedrich Bader, Parvesh Cheena, Pippa Black, Rebecca Hazelwood, Rizwan Manji, and Sacha Dhawan.
The NBC sitcom started out decently and it looked like NBC might have a keeper on its hands. Last September, Outsourced debuted to a 3.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 7.49 million viewers. In week two, the demo number fell 22% to a 2.8 rating and 5.85 million viewers but that was still pretty healthy by NBC standards.

It's not often that a new show gets some people so angry before it even airs but NBC's new TV show, Outsourced, certainly rubs some people the wrong way. Did that hurt the ratings? Will it be quickly cancelled or become a long-term staple of NBC's Thursday night line-up?

After the seamless 90 minutes of laughter, smiling and general contentment with the state of the TV universe you get NBC's block of "Community," "30 Rock" and "The Office," the comedown with "Outsourced" can feel quite jarring.
The network's only new submission to the comedy canon this fall, "Outsourced" follows a young professional named Todd (Ben Rappaport) to an Mumbai call center, when his company -- a manufacturer of American novelty gifts -- downsizes and moves its operation to India. Todd, already dealing with the culture shock of a move abroad, has to school a ragtag group of employees on the nuances of American pop culture while they try to sell whoopee cushion and fake vomit.
As you might expect, the results are pretty offensive, but not even for their obvious racial and cultural ignorance. It's the laziness with which every element of this show was assembled that makes "Outsourced" such an...

Chicago – It seems that NBC is getting some of their “Must See TV” mojo back, after adding the hilarious “Community” to the Thursday night comedy line-up last year and debuting the equally stellar “Outsourced’ this year, which premieres September 23rd at 8:30pm Cst.
Television Rating: 5.0/5.0
The timing on this show is auspicious, as America still copes with the outsourcing of jobs to far-flung places such as India. Here it is the familiar call center, where a joke items and novelties company from Kansas City has moved all of their order facilities. It is a fresh faced American manager named Todd (Ben Rappaport) that is called upon to get the new Indian office to produce, and there are nice levels of satire, humor and heart in a pilot chock full of laughs.
Todd is definitely a fish out of water as he assesses and sizes up his new charges. His...

New comedy "Outsourced" will soon attempt to catch up with the success of fellow NBC series like "30 Rock" and "The Office". The network has released five clips from the series premiere to give fans an idea about the series which emphasizes on cross culture and the awkwardness that comes with it.
In the pilot, when manager Todd Dempsy returns to work after management training, he learns that the Mid America Novelties call center has been outsourced to Mumbai, India. In order to keep his job, Todd is left no choice but to relocate to India. There he meets his eclectic group of employees, and soon realizes that teaching them to understand America will be the first of many hurdles that he needs to overcome.

HollywoodNews.com: Whenever NBC launches a new comedy on Thursday night it’s a big deal. This is the night where The Cosby Show, Cheers, Seinfeld and Friends ruled. Outsourced is the new show joining The Office, 30 Rock and Community until Parks and Recreation comes back. Can it be the new NBC classic?
The stars of Outsourced premiered their show at the Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills, CA. as part of PaleyFest Fall TV Preview Parties. PaleyFest continues this week with Fox, ABC and The CW.
On Outsourced, Ben Rappaport plays an American transferred to a Mumbai call center where he has to manage an office full of Indian phone operators. Of course there are cultural misunderstandings, but also just an office full of kooky characters.
“I’ve had a lot of scenes with Rizwan [Manji] who plays Rajiv,” Rappaport said. “He’s trying to steal my job.

We won't find out who will replace Steve Carell on "The Office" until the end of the seventh season (as The Hollywood Reporter exclusively revealed Friday), but the cast of NBC's rookie workplace comedy, "Outsourced" (premiering Sept. 23), has a few suggestions on who could step into bumbling Michael Scott's shoes.
Ben Rappaport, who plays the lede on the series (which some are comparing to "the new 'Office'"), told The Hollywood Reporter Thursday at the Paley Center's NBC Fall TV preview night in Beverly Hills, "My pick has to be Dwight [Rainn Wilson]… I think who ever takes over as the boss has to keep everybody on their toes and I think Dwight is the guy to do it."
Co-star Parvesh Cheena agrees that Carell's successor should come from within Dunder Mifflin.

Chicago – The broadcast network rookie class of 2009 was one of the best of all time with “Community,” “Glee,” “Modern Family,” “The Good Wife,” “NCIS: Los Angeles,” “The Middle,” and “Cougar Town” finding loyal fans. Even relative (and mostly canceled) missteps like “FlashForward,” “V,” “Mercy,” and “Melrose Place” were interesting disasters. Will the upcoming season continue the pattern or drop the broadcast nets back into the misery of being unable to find a new hit?
Don’t get your hopes up. Having seen at least rough cuts of all of the new programs except for the still-in-production “Law & Order: Los Angeles,” we can say without a doubt that this upcoming freshmen class will not produce the same number of all-stars as last year. Even the majority of the ten shows below are going to require some tinkering to stand out. It should be noted that most of what we’ve seen...

You've probably already heard of "Outsourced," NBC's latest addition to its Thursday sitcom block, but not for the best reasons. It swiped the "30 Rock" timeslot and bumped "Parks and Recreation" to midseason. Clearly, the culprit warrants a closer look.

NBC originally intended to introduce a new comedy hour to its weekly line-up in the fall of 2010, on a new night. After some scrutiny, however, the network decided that since its Thursday night comedy line-up has become its signature, it would be remiss to add half-hour sitcoms to any other day of the week.
So, Thursday it is. In addition to old staples like "30 Rock" and "The Office," NBC has ordered episodes of four new half-hour comedies. With a few unexpected shake-ups, including moving critical favorite "Parks & Recreation" to mid-season, the network has managed to find room for four new half-hour comedies over the course of their 2010-2011 season.
Zap2it was on the scene at the 2010 NBC Upfront Presentation in New York City on May 17 to get a first look at the new comedy line-up. Here are our first impressions.

It's no secret that workplace comedies have performed well for NBC.

The Fall TV Season presentations for all the new network shows take place this week with the first announced today. Here's a full breakdown of which concepts have made the final list over on NBC.
While the Peacock has struggled in recent years, those were like a cakewalk compared to this past season as the network became a very public punching bag over the debacle of its 10pm Jay Leno show experiment, the Leno/Conan media wars, and ultimately the general failure of its shows which all struggled in the ratings - most visibly its two new medical dramas and the once proud "Heroes".
By the end of the season the only real success stories to talk about were the network's well-regarded but not spectacularly-rated Thursday night comedy block (Community, 30 Rock, Office), and "Chuck" which only just got renewed last season and is proving to be one of the network's...

HollywoodNews.com: NBC has given series pickups for its 2010-11 season to the dramatic thriller “The Event,” the comedy “Outsourced” and the romantic anthology series “Love Bites.”
The announcement was made today by Angela Bromstad, President, Primetime Entertainment, NBC and Universal Media Studios.
“Each of these three series reflects a unique point of view and distinct style of quality that fits perfectly with NBC’s dedication to rebuilding the schedule,” said Bromstad. “These series showcase excellent writing and casting, and represent the kind of scripted programming our network and studio are committed to producing.”
“The Event” is an emotional high-octane conspiracy thriller that follows Sean Walker (Jason Ritter, “The Class”), an Everyman who investigates the mysterious disappearance of his fiancée, Leila (Sarah Roemer, “Disturbia”), and unwittingly begins to expose the biggest cover-up in U.S. history. NBC has picked up three more new series for next season -- a drama called "The Event" and a pair of comedies, "Outsourced" and "Love Bites."
The three shows join fellow newcomer "Undercovers" on the network's 2010-11 schedule and in taking some of the suspense out of NBC's May 17 presentation. A couple more new shows are likely to join the lineup as well as NBC continues remaking its prime-time slate following the Jay Leno experiment.
