For actor Adam Beach, one of those roles is Native warrior Black Hawk in director Scott Cooper’s (Out of the Furnace) Western Hostiles, starring Christian Bale, Rosamund Pike and Wes Studi.
“I’m the son of Wes Studi’s character, Chief Yellow Hawk,” says Beach on the line from his home in Florida. “He’s a well-known Cheyenne chief and he’s dying, and the [U.S.] President has allowed him to die in his homeland. We’re prisoners, and we’re led back home by Christian Bale.”
Bale portrays an Army captain who despises Native Americans and Pike plays a grieving woman who joins the group after a Native raiding party wipes out her family.
