Madness! Madness, I say! I caught Shinya Hashimoto star vehicle - Hashimoto was a hugely popular Japanese wrestler who died suddenly in 2005 - Oh! My Zombie Mermaid! at the New York Asian Film Festival back in 2006 and while I absolutely loved the thing I never thought any DVD distributor would ever have the stones to buy and release a film as utterly bizarre as this one is. Well, it took a few years, but I was wrong and Discotek Media will be releasing the film via their Eastern Star sub-label later this summer. Details!

This is one of the stranger films ever to come out of Japan - home to a great many very strange films - and I won’t even attempt to summarize it here.
