Made on a budget of less than $100,000, director Rhys Frake-Waterfield’s movie Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey (watch it Here) earned more than $6 million during its global release earlier this year. So it was no surprise to hear that a sequel was on the fast track, with Premiere Entertainment having secured multiple international distribution deals for Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2, which would have a substantially larger budget than its predecessor. The sequel is now in production, and The Hollywood Reporter has unveiled a batch of first look images that feature Pooh and Piglet, as well as Christopher Robin and Owl! You can check them out at the bottom of this article.

Pooh Bear is back, but not the cutesy, softly-spoken and honey-guzzling children’s variety. This one comes with sledgehammer and a penchant for bloody murder.
The Hollywood Reporter can exclusively reveal the first stills from Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2, the follow-up to the micro-budget British slasher that went viral last year for its childhood-bludgeoning premise, became one of the most talked about films of 2023 and would earn $5.2 million in the global box office after costing under $100,000 to make.
Currently in production, the sequel comes with a bigger budget, more kills and even an Olivier Award-winning, BAFTA-nominated star in the form of Simon Callow (Four Weddings and a Funeral), who has joined the cast.
“Bigger and Badder. The sequel will feature new creature designs, a new cast, and a high death count,” said writer/director Rhys Frake-Waterfield. “However, this time Pooh and friends will be leaving the 100 Acre Wood to...

“Shakespeare in Love” actor Simon Callow has been cast in the sequel to micro-budget slasher hit “Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey.”
Stage and screen star Callow, who has also appeared in “Four Weddings and a Funeral” and “The Witcher” among other fare, is set to play a character called Cavendish, who is described by the filmmakers as “a pivotal character with a dark past somehow tied to Christopher Robin.”
“Cavendish’s tragic life, marked with alcoholism, violence and regret, not only brings significant depth to the story, but revelation as well,” the producers tell Variety.
Variety understands Callow was approached via his agents and, liking the character, agreed to sign on for the role.
“Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey” debuted earlier this year and quickly became a smash hit, grossing almost $5 million of a budget of less than $100,000.

Yes, Northern England’s premier horror film festival, Grimmfest, is back for 2013, this time taking place at three venues across the north – including two in Manchester – allowing for a much bigger programme for this year. After the launch on October 2nd at Stockport Plaza, Grimmfest 2013 will continue from October 3rd – 6th, at the Dancehouse Theatre, And the Lass O’Gowrie, Manchester. There’s a number of films scheduled this year that (as of yet) haven’t played any other UK film festivals, so there’s bound to be something showing that you haven’t seen, or maybe might not, see again!
One of my good friends James Cullen Bressack is back this year with another of his films, the excellent and innovative To Jennifer, after making a huge splash last year with the controversial Hate Crime. Other highlights, for me, include Thanatamorphose, On Air, Home Sweet Home and The Butterfly Room.

Fairbanks Productions has shelved plans to shoot a £75 million new take on "The Scarlet Pimpernel" in favour of a £50 million new adaptation of Sir Walter Scott's classic 1820 adventure "Ivanhoe" says The Hollywood Reporter.
With a change in European Union copyright laws extending them from 50 to 70 years, film adaptation rights to Baroness Orczy's classic Scarlet Pimpernel are no longer in the public domain in the U.K., which means the company's plans have been put on hold for around five years until the rights become freely available again.
Brit actor Neil Jackson ("Upstairs, Downstairs," "Quantum of Solace") is producing and currently writing a draft of "Ivanhoe", which is in the public domain, and the family adventure-focused Fairbanks Productions is fast tracking it to shoot at Twickenham Studios in London late next year.

Baroness Orczy’s The Scarlet Pimpernel – first released as a play but quickly published as a novel to considerable commercial success – has been remade, adapted and spoofed a great number of times throughout the years.
Though a precursor to fellow masked-men such as Zorro – the property’s fame has not endured in quite the same way. Nevertheless, new production banner Fairbanks Productions has announced plans for a £75 million retelling.
Following the thirteen sequels, two prequels, innumerable TV adaptations and Daffy Duck parody, Fairbank Productions will reboot the character with star Neil Jackson (Quantum of Solace), a number of “high profile cameos” and Eastern European locale. According to executive producer James Black:
“We want to try and do to the story of The Scarlet Pimpernel what Guy Ritchie did to Sherlock Holmes for Warner Bros.”

Exclusive: The Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles actress will lead the cast in a new Brit shocker being planned for next year. Michael Ironside (Terminator Salvation) is also attached. Offers are out to Kate Mara (Iron-Man 2) and Michael Trucco (Battlestar Galactica). Safe House, which is due to begin filming next March, follows a team of Us Marshals charged with protecting a mob-trial witness and her teenage daughter, Alice. Mother and daughter are relocated to an isolated compound high in the Californian Rockies. The location appears secure -- outfitted specifically for witness protection -- yet its past is steeped in mystery and violence... Producer Steve Iles of Spirit Pictures pitches it as “Assault On Precinct 13 meets The Thing.” The director is Simon Hunter, whose last movie was Mutant Chronicles. “Safe House is totally different from Chronicles, which was a big canvas,” Hunter tells me. “This is a world that I...

Beware the Moon director Paul Davis has his horror-loving hands into a lot of things in the UK, including we hear an especially gory cameo in the upcoming flick Burke and Hare that fans are really gonna dig, but today the young filmmaker took some time out of his schedule to update us on two projects he's been working on -- S.C.U.M. and Gladiators vs. Werewolves.
"Right now I'm doing 4th draft revisions on my story called 'S.C.U.M' (part of the Habeus Corpus anthology), which was written by the very talented Ben Woodiwiss," says Davis. "It's about a female art student who becomes ... 'enamored' I guess is the right word for it ... with the ideologies of men being murdered for the sake of art. It's different from the other stories, which is what I think attracted me to it in the first place. It's going to be bloody,...

It was back in December, 2008, that Foy first told us about Gladiators v Werewolves from director Rob (The Bunker) Green, but details were scarce. Now, however, the UK's Av Pictures has provided a full synopsis and early poster art for the first installment in a proposed trilogy, now retitled to Gladiators v Werewolves: Edge of Empire.
Synopsis:
The Hunt. The Trap. The Games.
Ad 160. The Romans occupy Britain, and the great Hadrian's Wall divides the land, built to keep back the northern warrior tribes, and something far more dangerous; a clan of savage wolf-like creatures which roam the lowlands.
Word reaches Governor Flavius that the Emperor has decreed that new, more fearsome beasts should be captured for the games. The ambitious Governor, having heard rumours of the fierce wolf-beasts beyond the great wall, senses an opportunity to win favour with the Emperor and even a place in the senate.

After the Q&A session last night at the New Beverly for the American Werewolf In London and Beware The Moon double-feature, ShockTillYouDrop.com checked in with the doc's writer/director/producer Paul Davis to see what he had lined up next and it seems that werewolves are still very much a part of his future. He revealed exclusively to us that he'll be playing a werewolf in Gladiators vs. Werewolves: Edge Of Empire , the latest movie from filmmaker Rob Green ( The Bunker ). Apparently, the gig came about once FX artist Shaune Harrison saw Davis' size and insisted on putting him in a monster suit. "It's weird how this has all come about and in the space of two-weeks since Frightfest in London," Davis tells us. "I can't say too much but basically I was...
