Karl Harpur is an Irish actor, writer, director and producer based in
Los Angeles.
A graduate of the Gaiety School of acting, Karl is known for his roles
in Fair City, Love/Hate and his short film Cavity which was directed by
Emmy winner Tim Russ (Star Trek Voyagers Tuvoc). Karl wrote, produced
and starred in the short which was nominated for Best Film, Best
Writer, Best Director and a Best Supporting Actor nomination for Karl
at the 7th annual Toscar Awards in Hollywood.
Since 1998 Karl has been a regular face on the Irish theatre scene
having starred in Ireland's most commercially successful musical - I,
Keano. Ireland's most expensive musical, The HaPenny Bridge. As well as
the World Stage Premier of Stephen King's 'The Shawshank Redemption'
which saw him star alongside Emmy nominee Reg Cathey (House of Cards),
Tony nominees Kevin Anderson and John Earl Jelks, as well as Golden
Globe winner, Keir Dullea (2001, A Space Odyssey).
Karl is also Irelands top writer and director of the popular theatre
genre of Pantomime. Penning scripts for Theatreworx Productions and
Jendagi UK Ltd for the hugely successful Helix Theatre and University
Concert Hall, Limerick, respectively over the last number of years.
He is married to Jennifer.
