- Was spokesman for General Motors in Canada for three years appearing in all their commercials, print and radio ads.
- Worked three summers at the acclaimed Rochester Music Theatre in New Hampshire, where they did 10 musicals in 10 weeks earning $25 per week.
- His first professional job was the title role in 'George M!" in New Hampshire summer stock.
- Jack's interest in show business started as a shoeshine boy in the nightclub district in Wildwood, New Jersey, then known as the "Las Vegas of the East Coast" with its summer tourists.
