“Duck Dynasty” producers Deirdre and Scott Gurney have reached a settlement with ITV Studios after a years-long conflict.
ITV, which had acquired a majority interest in Gurney Productions in 2012, fired the Gurneys in late 2016 and sued the pair, alleging fraud and misuse of company funds. The couple then filed a $100 million lawsuit against the studio over an alleged “outrageous campaign of intimidation and extortion” to reduce the price of a stake in Gurney Productions.
Here’s the full statement from ITV:
“ITV and Deirdre and Scott Gurney have reached a settlement which resolves all claims and issues asserted in the litigation between them to their mutual satisfaction. As part of the settlement, the Gurneys will sell their 38.5% stake in the company they founded, Gurney Productions, the company behind over 50 reality television shows including the hit series Duck Dynasty. The remaining terms of the settlement are confidential.

12 Years A Slave and Gravity have tied at this year’s PGA. With American Hustle taking the SAG ensemble on Saturday night, we have a bonafide Best Picture race on our hands folks! This is the first tie for the top film in Producers Guild Award history.
The PGA split keeps the Oscar race wide open in one of the tightest three-way battles in years, with “American Hustle” still in the game following a week of big showings at the Golden Globes, Oscar nominations and Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Tonight the Producers Guild of America (PGA) announced this year’s winning motion picture and television productions at the 25th Annual Producers Guild Awards ceremony at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles.

Plenty of groups give out awards for excellence in film and television at the end of every year, but no set of nominations is watched more carefully by Oscar predictors than the picks from the Producers Guild. That’s because year after year their choices end up being a fairly good indicator of which films will also be granted Best Picture nominations when the Academy makes their selections.
The Guild has announced their 2014 nominations today and there aren’t really any major surprises here. All the expected films are present, including 12 Years A Slave, American Hustle, Captain Phillips, Gravity, Her and The Wolf Of Wall Street. Animated films that nabbed nominations are The Croods, Despicable Me 2, Epic, Frozen and Monsters University. Included in the documentary nominations are A Place at the Table, Far Out Isn’t Far Enough: The Tomi Ungerer Story, Life According to Sam, We Steal Secrets: The Story of Wikileaks...

The Producers Guild of America has accurately forecast the last six Best Picture Oscar winners, so it was good news for 10 films that were nominated today for the PGA’s Darryl F. Zanuck Award. While Gravity, 12 Years a Slave, and American Hustle were among the films that made the cut, Inside Llewyn Davis, The Butler, and Fruitvale Station did not. Last year, eight of the 10 movies that received nods from the PGA went on to earn Oscar nominations for Best Picture.

For better or for worse, there’s a lot of Duck Dynasty news. First off, after pulling its Phil Robertson merchandise, Cracker Barrel put the items back on the shelf after being on the receiving end of outrage from Duck Dynasty fans. If you were thinking of getting a meal at Cracker Barrel as a thank you for taking action, you can cancel that gesture.
Speaking of the outrage, A&E increased the security at its New York headquarters after receiving death threats and “suspicious packages” from angry fans.
Adding a bit of irony, some people pointed out that the creator of Duck Dynasty, Scott Gurney, starred in The Fluffer, which is a movie Phil Robertson wouldn’t approve. (And yes, you can find screen caps of Gurney’s nude scenes with a bit of searching.)

Source: Jeff Reidel/GQ By now you've probably heard that Duck Dynasty patriarch Phil Robertson was suspended by A&E for antigay comments he made in GQ. In the January issue, which hits newsstands Dec. 24, the Louisianan reality star said, "Everything is blurred on what's right and what's wrong. Sin becomes fine. Start with homosexual behavior, and just morph out from there. . . . Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men." As the fallout continues, you may have missed some of the details, including how his backers are reacting or that the show creator has an ironic tie to gay porn. Read on for a look at this crazy story. The Creator of Duck Dynasty Starred in a Film About Gay Porn So, this is awkward. Scott Gurney created Duck Dynasty, and back in 2001, he reportedly starred as a gay porn star in the film The Fluffer.

‘Duck Dynasty’ devotees received heartbreaking news on Dec. 20, when the Robertson family released a statement saying they would no longer continue with the show without its patriarch, Phil, who was suspended after he made homophobic and racist remarks in a recent interview. Now Phil’s granddaughter Sadie has personally spoken out, saying that the show’s future is ‘in God’s hands’ at the moment.
Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson was suspended from A&E’s colossal hit after he made racist and homophobic statements to GQ, and his family quickly responded with a statement boycotting that decision. Phil’s granddaughter Sadie, 16, took to Twitter to express her feelings on the matter, quoting passages from the Bible and The Lion King to let her followers know that the family was doing okay.

‘Duck Dynasty’ star Phil Robertson most likely skipped ‘The Fluffer’ when it came out in 2001, but given the star’s recent anti-gay remarks he might want to check it out — the gay-porn-centric film stars ‘Duck’ creator Scott Gurney!
The story just keeps getting stranger. Duck Dynasty patriarch and fundamentalist Christian Phil Robertson ignited a major controversy when he made shocking racist and homophobic remarks in GQ, and now Buzzfeed has unearthed some surprising footage from a movie about gay porn — that just-so-happens to star Scott Gurney, the creator of Duck Dynasty.

The Season 3 finale of A&E Network‘s Duck Dynasty was watched by 9.6 million viewers last night, a record for the series and the network. Wednesday’s season ender was up 48% over the 6.5 million who watched the Season 2 finale on December 5, 2012. With a 4.3 rating, it was the highest-rated show on both cable and broadcast Wednesday, easily beating American Idol’s 3.2. Last night’s one-hour episode garnered 5.6 million viewers in adults 25-54, 5.5 million adults 18-49 and 2.6 million adults 18-34 to become the most-watched series telecast in A&E’s history in all demos. That is a 41% rise in 18-49 over last season’s finale and a 47% rise in 25-54. With those kind of numbers, it is no surprise A&E also announced today that production on a fourth season of Duck Dynasty is scheduled to start shortly. Despite a stand-off between the Robertson family cast and producers over money, the West Monroe,...

The stars of the wildly popular reality show, "Duck Dynasty" are reportedly in a standoff with the A&E network over new salary demands. The showdown between the bearded, camouflage-clad duck hunting supply moguls and network execs is said to be delaying a renewal for the show's fourth season.
Out of the entire cable television schedule, only "The Walking Dead" beats the show about the Robinson family's hunting empire in its 10 p.m. Wednesday time slot. With a February season finale that proved to be A&E's highest rated telecast ever at 8.6 million viewers, it's easy to see why the stars of "Duck Dynasty" want the network to pay up. THR reports the members of the Duck Commander dynasty want more than $200,000 per episode for a fourth season, plus raises for subsequent seasons.
Dierdre Gurney, who produces "Duck Dynasty" with her husband, Scott Gurney, spoke about the debacle at the Hollywood Radio & Television Society luncheon.

Update: A&E‘s Duck Dynasty is becoming a Jersey Shore-size ratings monster. It’s true; no matter what certain networks may claim about their “winter finales,” winter doesn’t actually start until December 21, and isn’t over until March 20. Syfy, at least, understands this, and has announced their appropriately-titled winter schedule accordingly.

The seemingly endless wait for the Syfy summer schedule is finally over! There is good news and bad, and one thing that is both good and bad. Let’s start with that: the Eureka Season Finale. We love Eureka, so every episode is good news; the fact that it’s a series finale, not so much. Mark your calendars – and have plenty of Kleenex in stock – for July 16 at 9/8c. Right after Comic-Con, which is early this year. We’ll see if that means a panel or not.
The good news: Warehouse 13 and Alphas return on July 23. The hmmm news is that Lost Girl will move to Fridays at 10 on July 20. Hey That’S Haven’S Spot. So Where The Heck Is Haven? Admittedly we had a head’s up that Haven would be pushed to fall when we learned that the DVDs for Season 2 weren’t being released until September but Argh.

For more than thirty years, when studios want a bizarre creature or out-of-this world alien, they turn to Cleve Hall and the team at Sota FX. Only the horrifying monsters they build match the craziness of this extremely talented family.

Syfy sent out a press release announcing its summer programming slate, and in addition to popular returning series "Eureka" (July 11th), "Warehouse 13" (July 11th), "Ghost Hunters International" (July 13th), and "Haven" (July 15th), some new blood is on tap.
The line-up includes a pair of new reality shows, a new superhero program, a live-action movie based on the popular Red Faction video game, and you just knew there had to be at least one new killer shark movie included in there somewhere.
I'm feeling lazy so I'll let the press release tell you the story.
New programs:
Haunted Collector (Wednesday, June 1, 9Pm Et/Pt): Ghosts and spirits inhabit more than just homes and buildings -- they can also live in objects. In the new Syfy reality series Haunted Collector, a family of paranormal investigators hunt down haunted items bedeviling their owners. As part of SyFy’s largest original programming in the network’s eighteen-year history, SyFy will premiere four scripted dramas this coming July beginning with brand new show, Alphas, leading the pack. July is packed with the return of summer scripted dramas Warehouse 13, Eureka, and Haven.
Check out the official description for Alphas and take a whiff at what SyFy is cooking in terms of scripted dramas and reality TV in development. With Stargate Universe and Caprica off the table, the network is sure keen on developing programming that expands the scope of what we’re used to at SyFy. Looking at ratings for the first quarter of 2011, the network has experienced a 17% increase in adults 18-34 and 13% in total viewers with the launch of new shows, Being Human and Face-Off.
At least the BSG story doesn’t stop with Caprica. SyFy is still developing Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome,...

Jake Mason (Smith), Alec’s only son and an officer in the Red Faction Militia, has his world turned inside out when he discovers that now,...

For my money the only paranormal show worth its salt is "Destination Truth", but that doesn't mean I won't consume new bits of spooky stuff like a bag of BBQ potato chips when it comes my way!
According to The Hollywood Reporter Syfy will announce at Tuesday's upfront presentation to advertisers in New York that it has picked up a trio of reality series -- "Haunted Collector", "Legend Quest" and "Paranormal Witness" -- to launch later this year. The series will join the net’s growing cadre of unscripted hits, including "Ghost Hunters", "Destination Truth" and "Face Off", which was recently renewed for a second season.
"Haunted Collector", a working title, centers on a family of renowned paranormal investigators who spend their time tracking down haunted items. The family then houses its collections -- think guns, jewelry, paintings and dolls -- in its museum. The series, from Gurney Prods.' Scott Gurney and Deirdre Gurney,...
