In 1975, 14-year-old Lori Smith gave birth to her son and held him for twenty precious minutes. "I just knew I couldn't give him a life," Smith, now known as Lori Gray, told the Cincinnati Enquirer 40 years later. "I thought about him all the time. Every day, every second - about where he was, if he was having a good life." Gray always wanted to meet the son who remained at the forefront of her mind, but an Ohio law sealed its adoption records from 1964 to 1996. Like his birth mother, Brad Watts was also eager to learn more about the woman who gave him life.

A huge ensemble cast of indie vets (Anna Kendrick, Aubrey Plaza, Matthew Gray Gubler, Dane DeHaan, Alia Shawkat, John C. Reilly, Cheryl Hines, Paul Reiser, Molly Shannon). Check. A promising directorial debut from someone who previously made a name for himself with a cult screenplay (I Heart Huckabees). Check. Zombies. Check. You can always count on a horror-comedy to crack the Park City at Midnight line-up and Life After Bet certainly fills in that gap. Filming on Jeff Baena’s debut occurred in July, and recent Afm art proves that they’re deep into the post production phase, so chances are relatively good for a possible January showing. If so, this will be a hot sales item ticket for several indie distribution companies.

"Could you be the next Alex?" There's a fun little trailer going around, found by The Film Stage, for a new web series of short films being created by one of our favorite directors, Drake Doremus, of Like Crazy and Spooner. The project is called The Beauty Inside and mainly stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead as a love interest. The concept is that Topher Grace wakes up as a different person every day, and I think anyone can audition and submit a video of themselves to be a part of it, to take control for a day and see where it leads. How fun. There's an appearance by Matthew Gray Gubler, too. It looks kinda cool, I'm intrigued. Here's the official trailer for Drake Doremus' Intel/Toshiba series The Beauty Inside, from YouTube: The Beauty Inside is an interactive social film, presented by Intel and Toshiba, directed by Drake Doremus,...

Well, this is lovely! Here’s the second brilliant production blog for Nick Frost’s new movie, Cuban Fury where we get to see the Shaun of the Dead star wearing glitter and end the blog rapping with The Cuban Brothers (@cubanbrothers). Looks like they’re having an awful lot of fun making the movie and I want to see more!
Cuban Fury also stars Rashida Jones, Chris O’Dowd, Olivia Colman & Ian McShane and is directed by James Griffiths. if you missed the first of the blogs where we get a tour around Nick Frost’s trailer click here to have a watch.
Beneath Bruce Garrett’s shabby, overweight exterior, the passionate beating heart of a salsa king lays dormant. Only one woman can reignite his Latin fire. Spotlight hits, sweat drips, heels click – Nick Frost Is Cuban Fury.

Today marks the release of the GLAAD Network Responsibility Index, charting Glbt representation on television. The CW wins in percentage of hours of representation at 33%, while ABC leads in total hours. The big jump was at ABC Family, which managed 55%. While the percentages remained nearly steady with last year, the big news was a jump in racial and gender diversity across the networks.
