Louis Vuitton is reviving its Core Values campaign with Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.
The campaign, shot by iconic photographer Annie Leibovitz, features the tennis champions, a rare off-the-court pairing, ascending to the summit of Italy’s Dolomites mountain range. The imagery fits the campaign’s tagline: “There are Journeys that turn into Legends.”
The newly released campaign features 42-year-old Federer and 37-year-old Nadal 3,000 meters high, standing tall on the mountain peak. In the imagery, Federer sports a Monogram Christopher backpack while Nadal is pictured with the Monogram Eclipse version.
For the campaign, Nadal and Federer are not competitors but instead companions for one another on the journey up the mountain — a visual metaphor for their careers which have been “marked by deep mutual respect and friendship,” according to the luxury brand.

Iga Swiatek joined an illustrious list of former Wta World No. 1s who scored at least three-digit match wins during their reign at the top of the rankings.
The Pole is the ninth woman ranked as a World No. 1 to score 100 wins at tour level, following her comprehensive straight sets win over China's Qinwen Zheng at the United Cup. The victory propelled her country into the semifinal of the mixed-gender team tournament.
Poland, who entered this year's competition as the odds-on favorites thanks to the exploits of Swiatek and Hubert Hurkacz, are two ties away from winning the tournament. They face France in the semis on Saturday at the Ken Rosewall Arena in Sydney.
Swiatek, who has yet to lose a match in 2024, has now forged a 14-match winning streak in singles dating back to last year's China Open. She has expanded this exclusive centurion club, which includes Wta legends like Chris Evert,...

One of the best doubles players ever, Pam Shriver, has spoken about whether Iga Swiatek can match a huge Steffi Graf feat.
The world No. 1 has started the new season very strongly by winning all her matches, including a performance against China that helped Poland to take the semi-finals of the United Cup.
This follows an excellent end to last season. After a slight wobble from Wimbledon to the end of the US Open, Swiatek recovered by winning in Beijing and then triumphing for the first time at the Wta Finals.
Although we are still in the very early stages of the season, Swiatek's phenomenal ability and accomplishments to date and how well she is playing naturally lead to the question of just how much she can achieve in 2024.

Andy Roddick jokingly accused Andre Agassi of cheating on him after picking his wife, Steffi Graf, up for the second edition of the Pickleball Slam next year.
The event the former greats are set to play is not a tennis event but a pickleball exhibition. Last year, the first edition of the Pickleball Slam was played between former tennis players Andre Agassi, Andy Roddick, Michael Chang, and John McEnroe.

Former Atp World No. 3 Nikolay Davydenko spoke about the difficulty of winning all four Grand Slams in the same season when asked to assess Novak Djokovic's chances of doing so in 2024.
The Calendar Grand Slam is one of the hardest accomplishments in tennis. Only one man has done it in the Open Era (Rod Laver in 1969). Novak Djokovic is one of very few Atp players to have come within touching distance of this monumental feat.
Djokovic has won three Grand Slams in the same season on four occasions (he's the first man to do this), doing so in 2011, 2015, 2021, and more notably in 2023 when Carlos Alcaraz denied him a place in the record books at Wimbledon.
Djokovic, 36, will have another shot to win the Golden Slam next season - the equivalence of winning all four majors and an Olympic gold medal - a rare occurrence that happened back in 1988 thanks...

The tennis season is about to start on a clean slate in under a month, with hundreds of tennis players making the trip Down Under.
The Grand Slam journey begins at the Australian Open, a tournament that has witnessed a surge in first-time winners. The women's tour is as unpredictable as they come. This explains why no player won more than one major title in the whole of 2023, which crowned three new winners.
If that trend continues in 2024, the chances of crowing a first-time Grand Slam champion will increase significantly, and in this article, we shall list the five women who can pull this off.

Novak Djokovic was named this year's men's Itf World Champion for the eighth time in his career after a splendid 2023 season on the Atp Tour.
Djokovic was on par with Wta legend Steffi Graf for the most titles in this prestigious list, with seven, having last won the award in 2021. But there was no denying that Djokovic was head and shoulders above his peers in 2023 and deservedly pulled clear at the summit.
Pete Sampras is the second male player on the list, now two accolades behind the Serbian superstar. The World Champion award follows a campaign in which Djokovic played in all four Grand Slam finals and managed to top the podium three times.

Iga Swiatek has joined an illustrious list of Wta legends who have previously won the Player of the Year award for at least two consecutive years.

At this point, there is no limit to what Novak Djokovic can achieve as he kicks off a race to infinity at the top of the Atp Rankings.

Novak Djokovic's incredible dominance knows no bounds and the Serbian will celebrate a 400th week at the top of the men's rankings.
Djokovic was guaranteed to hit this milestone following his opening round-robin win over Holger Rune at the Atp Finals a week ago. The win earned him the year-end No. 1 ranking for a record eighth time and extended his all-time record for the most weeks at No. 1.
Even by Novak Djokovic's standards, this latest monumental feat is just risible. He has now put the rest of the players on the list in the rearview mirror. Djokovic left Turin with two titles, including a record-breaking 7th crown by winning the tournament.
Djokovic has surpassed several iconic names across both tours including Steffi Graf (377), Serena Williams (319), Martina Navratilova (332), and one of his longtime rivals Roger Federer (310) for the most weeks at No. 1 and by some margin.
In fact, Djokovic has now been ranked No.

Gauff revealed that she had received a marriage proposal from a spectator inside the stadium and was tempted to recreate Steffi Graf's iconic marriage proposal scene from Wimbledon 27 years ago and that will live long in the tennis memorabilia.

Former Wta doubles No. 1 Pam Shriver opined that Stefanos Tsitsipas may have "hit the wall" in his battle to outperform fellow rivals Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner .
In an episode of the Inside-In podcast, Shriver evaluated the Greek's up-and-down 2023 season, which has yielded a few highs, but majorly modest results . Tsitsipas started the year in terrific form, reaching his second Grand Slam final at the Australian Open, and only losing to Novak Djokovic.
But a career-best start dissipated as he struggled to get any sort of momentum going during his brief stop on indoor hard courts in Europe and North America. Tsitsipas, whose sole Atp title this season came on the hard courts of Los Cabos , has won 40 matches on Tour and is grappling with at least five players to clinch the last three spots at the Atp Finals.

World No. 2 Iga Swiatek moved ahead of former Wta No. 1 Naomi Osaka in career prize money earnings after winning her China Open last Sunday.
Swiatek returned to the winners' circle in style, ending the 16-match winning streak of freshly minted US Open champion Coco Gauff en route to her first Wta 1000 title of the season.
During the week, the Polish superstar relinquished just one set and outplayed Liudmila Samsonova for the loss of four games in the final. Swiatek also left the Chinese capital as the Wta's Tour leader in titles won this season with five, at least one clear of Gauff, who owns four titles.
By virtue of winning the China Open, one of the mandatory Wta 1000 tournaments on the calendar, Swiatek received a paycheck amounting to $1,324,000 .

Iga Swiatek reigned supreme as the dominant force in women's tennis for 75 weeks, but tennis generally operates in cycles, and the rest of the Wta Tour are plotting to take over.
Since Ashleigh Barty's shock retirement in the first quarter of 2022, Swiatek became the World No. 1 for the first time in early April last year and lorded that ranking over her rivals. She tallied the third-longest streak as a first-time No. 1 with 75 weeks , trailing only Steffi Graf (186) and Martina Hingis (80) in that regard.
But 12 months on from her career-best season, the Pole's title haul reduced by half, and she's been unsurped from top spot by Aryna Sabalenka. With just a few weeks of the regular tennis season remaining, Swiatek has a mountain to climb to overturn the deficit at the top.
A closer look at the Wta Race, which depicts the accurate ranking of the current year, Swiatek is...

Former player and current tennis analyst Mark Petchey backed Coco Gauff for future success due to her tremendous physical talents.
Many have observed over the years that Coco Gauff could have easily played multiple sports based on physical talent alone, as she's incredibly quick, very nimble, and just blessed with excellent tools. She chose tennis, and she certainly shouldn't regret the choice, especially after finally becoming a Grand Slam champion recently .
All of her talents were on display in the 2023 US Open final, as she overcame a slow start by frustrating her opponent with her tremendous defensive skills. Not many players are capable of that because they haven't been blessed with her physique, and ultimately, that proved key. Once the match started turning, she used her tennis talents to finish Sabalenka off.
Former player Mark Petchey is certain she's going to be amazing in the future because of that alone.

Novak Djokovic ’s impenetrable defense and stable play continues to elude the newest stars of professional tennis. But just how does his racket setup make him so unbeatable?
Like some of his peers, including fellow tennis great Roger Federer , Djokovic has his rackets strung with a hybrid of Babolat natural gut and a polyester, Luxilon Alu Power. While gut may be an old- fashioned choice for the best tennis player of the modern age, the string’s elastic properties still makes it useful today, and combining it with the very stiff polyester string makes for a very plush stringbed, that can provide power from deep behind the baseline.
Although a quality polyester with excellent control, Alu Power is a little dated by today’s standards, but it was a very popular choice in the 2000s – when Djokovic switched to polyester after making his first waves on the pro tour.

Retired tennis stars and former top-ranked players Maria Sharapova and John McEnroe will team up to face Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf in the second edition of the Pickleball Slam.

McEnroe and Agassi featured in the inaugural Pickleball Slam which was heralded as a massive success. Both of the two icons will return for the second edition. McEnroe will team up with Sharapova while Agassi will join forces with her wife Steffi Graf.

Wta legend Martina Navratilova was dismayed to find Maria Sharapova 's inclusion in a poll determining the best tennis female players of all time.
On Wednesday, a post by World of Statistics on X (formerly known as Twitter) asked users to name the best tennis female of all time in a four-woman shortlist including Serena Williams, Steffi Graf, Martina Navratilova and Maria Sharapova.
Navratilova reacted in shock and disdain and responded to the post, hinting Sharapova was unworthy to even be on the list in the first place. The 18-time Grand Slam singles champion asked fans not to bother voting. Although she didn't delve into detail, the list does look extremely skewed, with a handful of names with a more ostentatious tennis CV being left out.

Wta No. 1 Iga Swiatek created a bit of history on Monday as she became the first Wta player born in the 2000s to earn more than $20 million in prize money.
Swiatek recorded an emphatic victory in her opening match at the 2023 US Open as she thrashed Sweden's Rebecca Peterson 6-0, 6-1 , guaranteeing her at least $123,000 in prize money by reaching the second round of the tournament.
It ensures that the Polish star will cross the $20 million mark in career prize money earned after she started the week with $19,906,763. Swiatek currently ranks 23rd in the Career Prize Money Leaders list, and she'll most certainly break the top 20 if she wins the title, surpassing former No. 1 s such as Naomi Osaka, Martina Navratilova, and Steffi Graf.

Wta No. 1 Iga Swiatek begins her 74th week at the summit and is expected to stay there until the conclusion of the 2023 US Open .
Since she rose to become the Wta No. 1 in April 2022, no player has knocked her off that position and has spent 74 weeks there, which is the 10th most in the Wta history. The impressive thing is that this is Swiatek's first stint as the No. 1 player and she's done in consecutive weeks.
That also puts her on an exclusive list. Since 2000, only two players have tallied the most consecutive weeks while ranked number one - Serena Willaims with 186 and Ashleigh Barty with 114, both currently inactive and retired.
Swiatek broke a two-woman tie with Martina Hingis at 73 weeks and now sits in third spot alone. In the overall list, since rankings were incepted, Swiatek ranks in 12th place among players with the most consecutive weeks at No.

Novak Djokovic isn't thinking about Margaret Court when he thinks about records but rather Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal , according to John McEnroe .
Djokovic comparing himself to his contemporaries shouldn't be surprising because he's battled these players for over a decade. Always quick to credit them as a reason for why he became as good as he became, Djokovic clearly wants to be the best among them.
McEnroe asserted his opinion while discussing Djokovic having a real shot of finally matching the record of Court. The Australian won 24 Grand Slam trophies, something no player matched since then. Serena Williams came close, but Djokovic is now the most likely to do so .
I would say that to me, I wouldn’t know because I was never in that position, but I would also say that Novak is in an incredible spot. I believe it’s a little bit apples and oranges with the men and women.

Iga Swiatek is confirmed as the first entrant in the 28-player draw at the 2023 Japan Open in Tokyo.
The news was confirmed by the tournament's social media pages. They will welcome the world number one for the 38th edition of the Wta tournament which is set to be played in the week beginning September 25th and running till October 1st, 2023.
The Toray Pan Pacific Open returned to its usual spot on the calendar last autumn following a two-year hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic, as almost the entire Asian swing was wiped off in that time span. It will be Swiatek's first Wta event in Tokyo.
Swiatek's schedule after the US Open isn't clear, but she'll most likely play the Wta 1000 in Guadalajara before flying to Tokyo. Bringing Swiatek to Japan is certainly a major coup for the tournament which traditionally has previously welcomed some of the world's best players including former No.

It's another milestone week ticked off by Iga Swiatek , who starts her 71st week as Wta 's number, but there is more to it.
A short while ago, Swiatek held the number one ranking for the longest duration among active players , a record that she forfeited briefly with the imminent return from retirement of former Wta number one Caroline Wozniacki , who spent 71 weeks as Wta's number one.
Wozniacki ranked in 10th spot among Wta players who held top spot for the most weeks, a list that is topped by 22-time Grand Slam singles winner Steffi Graf (377 weeks). Well, Wozniacki has some company now in the form of Iga Swiatek, who ties the Dane in the top 10.
What makes Swiatek's achievement a little more ostentatious than Wozniacki's, she has hoarded on the number ranking for 71 consecutive weeks. Since Ashleigh Barty's retirement , no Wta player has managed to unseat the Polish star from her perch.

Carlos Alcaraz is already enjoying his fourth stint as the highest-ranked player on the Atp Tour, but how does he compare to the tennis greats?
When the young Spaniard won the 2022 US Open, he became the youngest man ever to become the world number one . Since then, he has lost the spot because of injuries, but also because of Novak Djokovic's dominance early in the season.
After the two players traded the top spot multiple times, Alcaraz started his reign again on June 26th, 2023 , and he has kept the spot since then. Djokovic had a chance to retake it during the 2023 Wimbledon final , but since he lost, it's the 20-year-old who sits atop also now.
That means that Alcaraz spent already 30 weeks as the highest-ranked player on the Atp Tour, and the number is excepted to increase even further, but where does he rank right now among all men that reached the world no.

Novak Djokovic has progressed to his 35th career Grand Slam final at Wimbledon , the most out of any other player in the Grand Slam era.

Some time ago Novak Djokovic became the player with most weeks spent at number one in tennis when he replaced Steffi Graf as the leader in that regard. He has been at the top of the rankings for 389 weeks now which is fairly close to 400 weeks and that pops on a page far better than 3xx. It's something he's been backed to do and so far it's looking good.
He's at the top today, ahead of Carlos Alcaraz and the rest of the field. He's not certain to be number one next week too, because the Spaniard can dethrone him if he pulls together an impressive run at Queen's Club and wins the trophy.
Number three behind them is Daniil Medvedev who sits in front of Casper Ruud...

In a grand event slated for the heart of Rome, tennis legend Martina Navratilova is set to receive the Golden Racket award.
This recognition adds another brilliant chapter to her indomitable career and personal saga. Following Stefan Edberg, Navratilova has been chosen as the honoree of the Golden Racket 2023, awarded by the Federazione Italiana Tennis e Padel.
This marks another monumental milestone in her career, a journey characterized by resilience, courage, and excellence. Giulia Soresina, Federal Counsellor, will present this honor before the women's singles final at the 2023 Italian Open on Campo Centrale.
Martina Navratilova's story is one for the ages. The sporting annals are replete with her victories, her astonishing records, and the indelible mark she has left on the game. But it's her personal journey, equally profound, that sets her apart.
Stripped of her Czechoslovakian citizenship by the communist regime, Navratilova later gained American nationality, symbolizing her resilient spirit.

Once you top the history tables, you can rewrite it every day that you stay atop, and that is exactly what Novak Djokovic is doing.
Only a few weeks ago, the Serb equaled Steffi Graf's record for spending 377 weeks as the world no. 1. Naturally, one week later, the world no. 1 on the Atp Tour stood alone as he broke Graf's record and continues to extend it every week since then.
Well, except for a period when Carlos Alcaraz dethroned him after the Indian Wells triumph. On April 3rd, the 22-time Grand Slam champion regained the world no. 1 spot again and started his 381st week as the highest-ranked player.
Now, his record has been extended already to 384 weeks and it will be extended even further. Thanks to the young Spaniard defending his title in Madrid, he can't overtake the Serb and that means that Djokovic will be the world no.

Novak Djokovic became the world no. 1 again on Monday and now he's set to extend his stay atop of the rankings for a longer period.
The Serb started already his 381st week as the highest-ranked player on the Atp Tour, further extending his record, which was previously held by Steffi Graf with 377 weeks. Now, Djokovic can look forward to adding a few more weeks to his record as his biggest rival for the no. 1 spot, Carlos Alcaraz, withdrew from the upcoming Monte-Carlo Masters.
Last year, both players faced a disappointing early exit in Monte Carlo. While the Serb lost to Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in the second round, Alcaraz faced an exit in the same stage of the event, losing to Sebastian Korda.
Therefore, at this year's tournament, they could increase their points total, while the third man in the Atp Rankings, Stefanos Tsitsipas is defending his triumph and therefore also 1000 points from the tournament.

Martina Navratilova thinks that Carlos Alcaraz and Elena Rybakina are the players to beat in Miami picking them both to win the event.
Alcaraz and Rybakina are playing superb tennis right now as they were crowned champions last week in Indian Wells too. According to Navratilova who is in Miami working on the event and talked to the Tennis Channel, both are likely to win this event as well because nobody is playing better tennis right now.
You have to go with Alcaraz and Rybakina. I think they have a really good shot at winning the Sunshine Double, which I don't know if it has been done by both at the same time. But it could be a first. They both have a shot at it, they are the players to beat. Rybakina is in form and healthy.
It wouldn't be a first because it has been done before as...

Iga Swiatek will be playing in the 2023 Indian Wells quarterfinals, and although it seemed that in-form Emma Raducanu could stop her, she couldn't.
The 2021 US Open champion was arriving to the clash with the world no. 1 after playing very good three matches in the Californian desert. In her last match, Raducanu defeated the 13th-seeded Beatriz Haddad Maia and she wanted to take it another step further against the fellow US Open champion.
On the other hand, Swiatek was in superb form ahead of this match. In the second round, she thrashed Claire Liu, before defeating yet another fellow US Open champion, Bianca Andreescu in the third round.
Raducanu, who admitted after her latest win that she hasn't really practiced before the event, started the fourth-round match well. She could go ahead in the third game, but the world no. 1 doesn't give up points easily and the Brit felt that.

Dubai, March 1 (Ians) World No. 1 Novak Djokovic battled past Tomas Machac in a thrilling first-round match at the Dubai Tennis Championships to continue his unbeaten run in the 2023 season.
The Serbian held off a ferocious challenge from Czech player for a 6-3, 3-6, 7-6(1) win on Tuesday. He will next face the World No. 39 Dutch Tallon Griekspoor.
Machac showcased some top-class shotmaking, particularly off the backhand wing, to roar back into contention after a fast start from Djokovic at the Atp 500. The World No. 1 was at times visibly frustrated at struggling to find his best level, but composed himself in trademark fashion in the deciding-set tie-break to ward off the upset and take a hard-earned two-hour and 28-minute victory.
Having finished his 2022 season by going unbeaten at the Atp Finals, Djokovic’s current winning streak now stands at 18.

Doha, Feb 21 (Ians) German tennis star Alexander Zverev hailed the world no. 1 Novak Djokovic for his incredible achievement of equalling Steffi Graf’s record for most weeks spent as the World No. 1 and said that the Serbian great could break what a few records are left for him in his career.
Djokovic has maintained his place at the top of the Atp rankings for 377 weeks, equalling Graf’s record of weeks spent as the World No.1. After his record-breaking 22nd Grand Slam singles title at the Australian Open last month, the Serb reclaimed the top spot for the seventh time.
“He’s surpassing Steffi, so as a German, obviously I always loved her having that record, but credits to Novak. I think that shows how great he is,” Zverev was quoted as saying by Gulf News. “I’m sure that he’s going to break a few more records, to be honest.

New Delhi, Jan 30 (Ians) After winning his 10th Australian Open title, Novak Djokovic returned to the No. 1 spot in the latest Atp rankings released on Monday.
Djokovic defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-3, 7-6(4), 7-6(5) in the final on Sunday and clinched his 22nd Grand Slam title, equalling Rafael Nadal on the list for most Grand Slam crowns on Sunday night.
The Serbian climbed four spots from World No. 5 to seal the top spot, the biggest jump to the top of the men’s tennis summit between two editions of the Atp Rankings in history (since 1973). The 35-year-old dethroned reigning U.S. Open champion Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz, who is now placed second on the list.
The four-place ascent is a bigger jump than the three-spot climb previously made by Carlos Alcaraz, Pete Sampras, Andre Agassi and Carlos Moya.
If Djokovic remained World No. 1 through the week of February 20, he will tie...
