- Tom has written and directed for Saturday Night Live (1975); The Adventures of Tenacious D (1997); Human Giant (2007); The Awful Truth (1999) with Michael Moore; and Mr. Show with Bob and David (1995) (director). He is currently writing and directing the Comedy Central series Pretend Time (2010) and the FX pilot, Them's My Peeps (2000) with Bob Odenkirk. Strippers and Babies (2000), the screenplay he co-wrote with Sarah Silverman, has been optioned. Tom is also writing the first adult puppet show for the Henson Company.
Tom Gianas started his career at the Second City Comedy Theater in Chicago, where he directed the critically acclaimed "Pinate Full of Bees", which he also re-staged at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.
Tom occasionally returns to directing theater.
