Nickelodeon has made a SpongeBob SquarePants Halloween special called The Legend of Boo-Kini Bottom and they've even released a trailer for it that you can watch below. The best thing about this is that it's all done in stop-motion animation!
SpongeBob SquarePants: The Legend of Boo-Kini Bottom tells the tale of the Flying Dutchman (Brian Doyle-Murray), who shows up in Bikini Bottom and he is looking to scare everyone. Since SpongeBob thinks that scary things funny, the Flying Dutchman has met his challenge.
There will be all kinds of changes to the show to give it that fun Halloween vibe:
Bikini Bottom is decked out for Halloween and features Sandy’s treedome as a mad scientist’s lab, including a giant remotely operated Acorn Monster; Mr. Krabs’ restaurant as “The Horrors of the Chum Bucket,” displaying scenes of Plankton torturing food; and Plankton’s restaurant as “The Horrors of the Krusty Krab,...

Mama June got the skin removal surgery she thought she wanted on Friday's episode of From Not to Hot, but it turns out, recovery is a lot harder than she expected.
Last week's episode of the We tv series saw June's manager, Gina, cancel her tummy tuck and breast lift after she failed to get down to the 190 pounds her doctor required for the surgery, but the move might have been the reality check she needed to stop stress eating and get back in shape.

You know you are in trouble when the funniest part of a movie is Madea’s discussion of her retirement account. (She calls it her “Ho-01K” account, because she couldn’t open a 401K due to her illegal income.) Yes, it might finally be time to pull the plug on Madea, the strong-willed former stripper who just so happens to be everybody’s wacky aunt.
In his latest outing, the man behind Madea seems bored with his own creation, yet Tyler Perry only has himself to blame as writer, director, star, producer, and executive. His usual freedom and autonomy to green-light any project has led to interesting work the studio system might have passed on, like Daddy’s Little Girls and the somewhat brilliant Why Did I Get Married Too?. The Girl on the Train, The Accountant, Moonlight, and more of what to watch in OctoberThe Girl on the Train, The Accountant, Moonlight, and more of what to watch in OctoberAdriana Floridia10/3/2016 10:23:00 Am
October is one of our favourite months of the year, because we can start wearing sweaters, leaves are falling, and we can justify horror movie marathons all month long.
In theatres, however, we are getting a very interesting mix of thrills, scares, laughs, and some indie gems that caught our eye when they played the Toronto International Film Festival last month. That’s right, awards season is on the verge of beginning, and October features a couple of those highly buzzed titles. Among these are Moonlight and The Birth of a Nation, as well as some good old fun at the movies, like Tom Cruise returning as Jack Reacher, or Tom Hanks’ reprisal of Robert Langdon in Inferno.

The Toronto International Film Festival is mere weeks from kicking off, yet the annual fall fest is showing zero sign of slowing down when it comes to announcing the titles that will round out this year’s event. Today’s announcement brings with it a number of Cannes favorites, including Ken Loach’s Palme d’Or-winning “I, Daniel Blake,” Olivier Assayas’ divisive Kristen Stewart-starring “Personal Shopper” and Pedro Almodovar’s “Julieta.”

Everyone’s had this fantasy as a kid, and with Pete’s Dragon opening in theatres this weekend, we’ve been thinking about other movies that explore the special bond between a child and a fantastical pet or creature.
Here are some of our favourites:

Like many of you, I grew up in a time when cereal companies would put actual prizes in cereal boxes. I used to love buying cereal with prizes and I remember going home and digging through the box so that I could get my hands on it! It’s sad that kids these days will never know the awesomeness of that experience! Now they provide you with a code that you have to input on a web site just to enter to get the prize, and most of the time it’s not even guaranteed. I guess it's easier than some of the toys you had to mail in for back in the day!
I was telling my kids about the prizes I used to get recently and it fascinated them. So I started searching online to see if I could find some of the things I remember getting from...

Thus, the annual tradition of our end of year poll, which calls upon our writers to pick both a new and an old film: they were challenged to choose a new film they saw in 2015—in theatres or at a festival—and creatively pair it with an old film they also saw in 2015 to create a unique double feature. All the contributors were given the option to write some text explaining their 2015 fantasy double feature. What's more, each writer was given the option to list more pairings, with or without explanation, as further imaginative film programming we'd be lucky to catch...

This modern retelling definitely looks like a 2015 blockbuster but it peddles some uncomfortably old-fashioned values
Disney traditionalists are sure to find comfort in Kenneth Branagh’s live-action Cinderella as it glides on to home video this week, because unlike the majority of recent efforts to revive the studio’s flagship fairytales, this new spin on the glass-slippered classic makes few concessions to contemporary life. Indeed, the film plays out almost exactly as Walt himself might have envisioned, eschewing the metatextual postmodernism of last year’s Sleeping Beauty reboot Maleficent and the general batshittery of Tim Burton’s Alice In Wonderland.
Still, tradition has a short memory, so while the most influential version of the Cinderella story is probably the 1697 text by Charles Perrault, this new telling owes more to Disney’s own 1950 animated adaptation. Handily, this allows the studio to credit the story both to Perrault and “Disney’s Cinderella...

What, who, why or even how did your fascination with Horror begin? I will give you a minute to think whilst I set the scene. The other day, I was driving my car to work; A journey that has been done a thousand times before and as a result, it has become so tedious; so pathetically boring; I could probably do it with my eyes closed and without thinking (not that I will of course, that would just be plain dangerous on so many levels); But my point is, whilst I was driving, a question, not just any old question, but that question popped and buried itself deep into the back of my head. A simple question of What made me interested in Horror? Had evolved and mutated like a diseased zombie into further questioning and so forth, that in the end, a whole...

Pixar is at it again, ladies and gentleman. They’ve created another endearingly emotional CGI-animated extravaganza, and this time it’s very self-aware. By “self-aware” I mean that it is an endearingly emotional movie about endearing emotions. “Inside Out” is a movie about actual emotions who have been re-interpreted as human beings. I haven’t seen “Inside Out” yet, and here’s why: Pixar movies make me cry my eyes out. I’m sure that soon I will cave and decide to go watch it, but for now I’m still just trying to recover from the last few times Pixar made me cry: •Wall-e Wall-e was a tragically sad movie. Mankind has abandoned earth because it is covered in trash, and Wall-e is a garbage-collecting robot who has been left to clean up the mess. He lives a very lonely life. Then he meets Eve, a sleek girl-robot and he falls in love.

Pre-credit sequence. It's Night 35 and the Top 5 castaways return to camp. Carolyn is giddy. Mike is incredulous. Rodney is offended that Carolyn didn't tell him about the Idol, which is funny since Carolyn's offended that Rodney voted for her. They agree that without Idols or advantages remaining, everybody wants Mike out, which is especially funny since Mike was the only person to support Carolyn at the previous Tribal. But loyalty doesn't go very far when you're this deep into "Survivor." Mother-Lover. Tonight's Reward is an individual challenge and it's really only worthwhile if Rodney loses. No Rewards for Rodney! It's a complicated challenge involving tiles, a number puzzle, shuffle board and other stuff. Wanna know what they're playing for? Love! Carolyn's husband comes out and she cries. It's a fairy tale marriage. Everybody cries. Mike's mom comes out and he cries. It's a fairy tale mother-son relationship.

Empire capped its stellar first season of in a big way Wednesday, with more twists and shockers than Cookie's got ways to diss Boo Boo Kitty. The season ended where it began, with a member of the Lyon family behind bars and drama surrounding who’s going to take control of Empire Entertainment.
Last Week: 'Empire' Episode 10 Recap: Into the Lyons' Den
Here’s a look at the nine most jaw-dropping moments from 'Die But Once' and 'Who I Am.'
1. Lucious Doesn’t Have Als
The whole season has been built on Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard) preparing to leave Empire Entertainment behind when he succumbs to his Als. Turns out, it was a misdiagnosis. The range of emotions that play across Howard’s face when his character finds out that he isn’t dying show just how much this news complicates nearly every part of the Empire.

This is the second year for the Makeup and Hairstylists Guild joining the awards game, and they've been a welcome addition to the circuit. They spread their nods thin across a number of categories, but it's a good window into what this branch digs, for sure. This year, the only two films on the Academy's bake-off list of finalists that didn't garner any recognition were "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" and "Noah." Meaning "Foxcatcher," "The Grand Budapest Hotel," "Guardians of the Galaxy," "Maleficent" and "The Theory of Everything" were each represented in one form or another. Meanwhile, "Guardians of the Galaxy" led with the most mentions at three, while "The Grand Budapest Hotel," "Interstellar" and "Into the Woods" each got a pair. As previously announced, Oscar-winning make-up artist Rick Baker and Emmy-nominated hair stylist Kathryn Blondell will receive the Guild's Lifetime Achievement Awards. Check out the full list of nominees below,...

“My Five Wives” is about as awful as “Honey Boo Boo.”The new episode airs Sunday, November 9 at 10Pm Et/Pt for those who love this polygamist potboiler stuff.TLC’s “My Five Wives” features the awful, condescending Brady Williams, his five wives, and their combined 24 children, who all live together on their large family property outside Salt Lake City, Utah. Believing in equality for everyone and a God who loves and accepts all — a belief system Brady and his family call progressive polygamy — the Williams family emphasize that their choice to be together is more about their mutual love […]...

We're calling it now: "Maleficent" will be the Halloween costume of the year.Disney's new version of the classic "Sleeping Beauty" villain was perfectly embodied by the one and only Angelina Jolie earlier this year -- and we're Living for her makeup in the flick. The bold red lip, those cheekbone prosthetics and labradorite contacts all combine to create a creepy, yet gorgeous, interpretation of the fairy-gone-bad. See a clip from the flick above.Special makeup effects designer Rick Baker and Jolie's personal makeup artist Toni G collaborated on the look, which took four hours to apply every day.But since most of us don't have four hours and a team of specialists to duplicate the amazing makeup on our own faces, we challenged YouTube beauty vlogger Nicole Guerriero to create a look we could all do at home. And she definitely delivered!Check out Nicole's impressive how-to video below,...

The Judge did not come close to winning its opening weekend. Nor did the critics swoon over the pairing of Robert Downey Jr. and Robert Duvall, playing a hot-shot, big-city attorney and his ornery father, a prominent small-town judge accused of murder. But even if the script is Grisham-light and the prodigal-son bit overly familiar, there's at least one reason to keep it on your must-see list: Duvall. "Now it's about time to recognize Robert Duvall as one of the most resourceful, most technically proficient, most remarkable actors in America today," wrote the New York Times. "When I say 'one of…...

Rob counts down the top 50 episodes of TV's longest-running animated series, The Simpsons...
Since its debut in 1989, across 552 episodes and 25 seasons, The Simpsons has become one of the most revered and beloved TV programmes of all time. It’s a true cultural phenomenon that’s influenced not just animation, but all areas of TV comedy and sitcom. For so many of us, its quotes and catchphrases have permeated our everyday vernacular, from single words like “crisitunity” and “embiggen” to phrases “you don’t win friends with salad” and “everything’s coming up Milhouse.”
Personal opinions may vary, but for me the show’s peak years were from season 4 through to 10. They’re consistently funny, all killer and no filler runs with barely a dud episode to be found between 1992-1998. Past this point the standard becomes a little more mixed, and recent seasons have been distinctly average at best. The...

[As you probably already know, starting on Thursday, August 21, Fxx is running the Every Simpsons Ever Marathon, running through all 552 episodes of "The Simpsons," plus "The Simpsons Movie." To aid in your viewing process, Team HitFix is selecting our favorite episodes from each day, plus an episode or two that you can skip and use as a bathroom or nap break.] Somehow, despite including two different clip shows, Day 3 of Fxx's Every Simpsons Ever Marathon leads us deep into the show's Golden Years, as we finish Season 4, go through Season 5 and most of Season 6, spanning from "So It's Come to This: A Simpsons Clip Show" through "The PTA Disbands." For the second straight day, we had no trouble picking two favorites apiece and we left out a slew of great episodes including Krusty's Kancellation, Bart's rise to "I Didn't Do It!" fame, James Woods' stint at the Kwik-e-Mart, Homer's trip into space and Lisa's attempts to design a new Malibu Stacy. [The image accompanying this story is from "Marge in Chains" which, if I'm being honest, didn't come close to making our list, but it's the only official image Fxx was able to provide for the episodes airing on Saturday.] My own greatest regret is that I couldn't pick "Treehouse of Horror V," which features "The Shinning" and "Time and Punishment," which are two of my five "Treehouse" segments. However, I stand by the two episodes I chose. And guess what? Day 4 was even Harder, choosing-wise. But that's tomorrow.

They say all men are created equal, but luckily for us, all women are not.
In a world where “the girl next door” rules over all female archetypes, there is a common phrase used to describe women who don’t fall into the same category as leading ladies such as Grease’s Sandy, The Rocky Horror Picture Show’s Janet Weiss, or The Notebook’s Allie Hamilton. These women are often described as “girls you wouldn’t take home to meet Mom.”
This phrase describes a variety of women, and in film those women that you wouldn’t bring home for the holidays would include the over-sexed, the over-indulgent, the mentally unbalanced and deranged, or the socially inept/awkward. Just because these aren’t the types of girls that you’d typically see sharing a pot of Folgers with your mother in the morning doesn’t necessarily mean they aren’t your type of woman.

In case you haven't heard, The Fault in Our Stars is kind of a sad film. The reaction across the pond (where the film has been out for a couple of weeks) has essentially been one long, drawn out ugly-cry, to the point where Slate have even released a handy guide to keeping your eye make-up intact.
Even the movie's stars Ansel Elgort, Nat Wolff and Laura Dern aren't immune, as they admitted in our video interview. We also asked them what other films have made them cry, which sparked a discussion back in the office about the most effective tearjerkers of all time.
Below, Digital Spy staffers reveal the films that are guaranteed to leave them a weeping mess.

Just as quickly as Afflicted redefined the “found footage” horror subgenre, SX_Tape came along and proved there are still Plenty of opportunities for filmmakers to exploit first-person horror normalities. One day there’s a bright hope, the next there’s a disgusting reminder that for every original idea, someone else will rehash the past few years of duds for their own ill-conceived shitfest. I want to remain positive, happily accepting an advancement in “found footage” horror – but it takes a certain type of awful to make me hate a movie in which our lead, possessed character jumps up and down screaming “Let Me Suck Your Dick!” To think some inexperienced filmmaker could just waltz into stardom with such a – wait, this was directed by Bernard Rose of Candyman fame? Oh boy, where’s Tony Todd when you need him?

"Maleficent" week on Moviefone continues with this inside look, provided by Disney, at how the artists and designers behind the movie created the iconic villainess's style -- horns and all.
Bringing the evil Maleficent -- who first appeared in Disney's classic animated 1959 film "Sleeping Beauty" -- to life in this year's live-action "Maleficent" involved the acclaimed talents of Oscar(R)-winning actress Angelina Jolie and a team of artists and designers dedicated to create the villainess's uniquely wicked style.
Everyone familiar with Disney's classic "Sleeping Beauty" knows what the animated Maleficent looked like, so getting the look right for the live-action film was important to both director Robert Stromberg and Angelina Jolie. "Angelina was really passionate about not only who the character was, but what the character looked like," says Stromberg. Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are least desirable neighbors, James Franco explains the selfie, Marilyn Manson to play cross between Kenny Powers and Karl Lagerfeld
Marilyn Manson is set to appear in Wrong Cops from Quentin Dupieux, but he’s also in the director’s next project, which has already shot in secret, where he’s playing a character described as “a combination of Kenny Powers and Karl Lagerfeld.” That should be something.
Is a Super Bowl Mvp winner being outed, or has the media just lost its mind?
It’s looking like The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug will win the five day holiday box office with $50 million, followed by Frozen at $43 million, followed by Anchorman 2 and The Wolf of Wall Street.
Speaking of movies, just how badly did Ender’s Game bomb?

Happily, it succeeded. While not the best episode ever for the series, it hit enough of the right notes to be an excellent tribute to the show’s long history.
Writer/show-runner Steven Moffat was wise to veer away from the high concept, end-of-the-universe plots that tend to dominate special episodes of Doctor Who. There were two storylines competing for screen time here. One plot was a standard...
