I’m not sure if I should be surprised or not but there seems to be quite a few World War II zombie movies, or movies that can kind of be linked to World War 2 and the undead – there’s definitely enough for it to be called a sub genre on its own. So Soldier of War (aka Aux) can be added to Dead Snow, Overlord, Outpost, Frankenstein’s Army and a myriad more.

Here, Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton put their own twist on Shakespearean comedy with an episode set entirely in a hotel corridor and written entirely in iambic pentameter, the clever sods. Regular brilliance clearly wasn’t presenting these two enough of a challenge.
It’s a challenge they pull off with relish. The writing’s smart and self-aware (“Like this iambic foot, I’m stressed, you’re not”) while the gags are a bawdy delight. Shakespeare never rhymed ‘bum’ with ‘Magnus Magnusson’, but you know he would have done,...

"So what's the deal with the two love birds in the back?" Amber Content has debuted a trailer for a film called Moon Dogs, which won Best International First Feature at Galway Film Fleadh 2016. No, this isn't an animated movie about dogs who go to the moon. Moon Dogs is about two teenage step-brothers, Michael and Thor, who take a road trip from Shetland to Glasgow for very different reasons. They're joined by an aspiring Irish singer named Caitlin, and if you can't already guess, things get heated when both boys fall for her. Jack Parry-Jones and Christy O’Donnell star, along with Tara Lee, Chris Donald, Tam Dean Burn, Tanya Franks, Geoffrey Newland, and Shauna Macdonald. This looks like a very odd, spunky, entertaining little coming-of-age film, which was nominated for a BAFTA Scotland last year. Check this out. From the creator of Him & Her, BBC Two comedy Mum returns tonight for its second series starring Lesley Manville and Peter Mullan...
Screenwriters often say their characters are inspired by people they’ve met in real life. If that’s the case for Stefan Golaszewski, he’d better hope that none of them ever watch his shows and recognise themselves. That’s hardly a risk of course. Golaszewski’s best—and by best, I mean worst—comic creations are so lacking in self-awareness they’d never notice the similarities.

Evolutionary Films has completed primary shooting on the horror film Aux. Shot in the United Kingdom, the film stars John Rhys-Davies (Raiders of the Lost Ark), Tanya Franks and Rosie Fellner. Taking place in an underground World War II bunker, the film involves two young boys and their dangerous discovery. Something malicious lives deep below the surface. Currently in post-production, a preview of Aux is hosted here. Major plot points are revealed in the film's synopsis. Two boys discover the bunker and their outcome is dire. Not much later, several police officers investigate the macabre scene, only to be targeted themselves. And, there is only one person who can turn things around, if only his strength will hold. A film poster has been released for the film. As well, two concept artworks show the film's central setting and characters. The graphics show what hides in the bunker and difficulties of escaping this fortification.

It was worth the wait, wasn't it? After nearly two years of speculation, a month of mysterious adverts on loop on ITV and CIA-esque level of secrecy surrounding the plot, Broadchurch series 2 finally arrived last night.
As writer Chris Chibnall promised, this wasn't simply another murder mystery whodunnit in the same town. In fact, it's quite the contrary - it's a can-you-prove-he-did-it.
Oh and that little case in Sandbrook that tormented Di Alec Hardy in series one. Yes, that reared up again.
At the end of the opening hour, we were left with questions piled on top of questions, and with a week to wait before we get episode two, here are the 20 most burning matters that we'll be mulling over until next Monday.
1. Why did Joe plead 'not guilty'?
"The evidence against you is clear."
"Not just me. Everyone... Nobody's innocent, Paul. Everyone's hiding things."
The exchanges between Joe Miller and Rev.

We asked Den Of Geek’s writers to recommend brilliant comedy shows that deserve to have more of a fuss made about them. Here they are...
Banging a drum about stuff we love is more or less our remit on Den Of Geek - hence what many readers have started referring to as the ‘inexplicably regular' appearance of Statham, squirrels and Harold Bishop from Neighbours on these pages.
To that end then, we asked our writers which comedy shows (past and present, UK or otherwise, on TV, radio, or online…) deserved more praise, and here are the ones they chose. You might already like them too, or you might discover something new to dig out and enjoy. That’s the fun of it.
Please note that this list isn’t ranked in any order, nor is it exhaustive. It’s compiled from the opinions of a group of different people,...

EastEnders' Tanya Franks says Rainie Cross is ''misunderstood''. The drug-addled prostitute recently made a shock return to Walford, blackmailing Ian Beale for money to keep quiet about his antics on the night of daughter Lucy Beale's death, but Tanya doesn't think her soap alter-ego is all bad and enjoys playing a challenging character. She said: ''I think she's just misunderstood. It's fascinating for me, she's such a challenge, she's such an extreme to what I am as a human being.'' Unlike her character, who has battled alcoholism, Tanya isn't a big drinker so she's had to base her performance on observations in everyday...

Following a swimming gala, which Mick was able to compete in after the cafe owner taught him to swim, the pub boss sees Ian involved in a heated discussion with Rainie so he spies on them to see what is going on. The London Indian Film Festival hosted the UK premier of Disney’s Million Dollar Arm yesterday and it was attended by producer Mark Ciardi and actor Madhur Mittal amongst a host of other showbiz celebrities including Meera Syal, Kulvinder Ghir, Ameet Chana, Tanveer Ghani, Tanya Franks and Neerja Naik.
The film, which was well received by the excited audience, was followed by a Q&A session with Mark and Madhur, mediated by Sunny and Shay (BBC London 94.9). Much of the audience’s interest revolved around shooting in India, the cast’s chemistry and the film’s basis on a true story.
Mark shared his experiences of struggling in the heat of India, catching Delhi Belly and having to accommodate the incredible Alan Arkin’s requests for filtered water due to his nervousness at catching something whilst filming. He also disclosed his own past experiences of playing baseball and modelling!

Chris Chribnall’s Broadchurch reaches the halfway point, and another suspect is in the frame for Danny’s murder…
This review contains spoilers.
For me, Broadchurch’s compassion was its early draw. Unlike the majority of TV murders, the killing of Danny Latimer didn’t just have a motive (whatever that turns out to be), but also consequences. The worst happened, and the people affected crumpled like cloth. The cheery small-town setting too, was a novel backdrop for the story. Broadchurch’s drama played out in kitchens and sunny tourist spots, not menacing urban streets or rain-lashed crime scenes. Banality met catastrophe, and the result was punch-to-the-windpipe television.
As the series has gone on, the procedural elements have begun to take prominence over personal pain, understandably so; we've a job to do and a murderer to find. The investigation progresses, the roulette wheel of suspects turns,...

Ok, ok, it’s just another TV movie, but we already shared every single thing from Liz & Dick with you guys, so one last poster won’t heart! Looks pretty cool actually! You know, just Grant Bowler kissing Lindsay Lohan‘s neck and stuff like that. I mean, sensual stuff. And of course there’s also a little reminder that the movie will air this Sunday. So, in case you still have any doubts about this project, make sure you read more about the whole thing in the rest of this report…
The movie comes from director Lloyd Kramer, while Christopher Monger stands behind the script which is based on the true story of the couple’s (do I really have to repeat that we’re talking about Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton?) passionate and tumultuous love affair.
Lindsay Lohan stars as the legendary Elizabeth Taylor while Grant Bowler is a celebrated actor Richard Burton.

Tanya Franks has been cast in Lindsay Lohan's upcoming TV movie Liz & Dick. The actress is perhaps best known for playing drug addict Rainie Cross in EastEnders, before she left the UK to pursue a Hollywood career last year. Liz & Dick stars Lohan and Grant Bowler as film legends Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, and focuses on the stars' two marriages. Franks will portray Burton's first wife Sybil Williams, whom he divorced in 1963, the year before he first married Taylor. The couple had two (more)...

Grant Bowler / Richard Burton: Liz & Dick Grant Bowler as Richard Burton in Lifetime’s fall movie Liz & Dick looks less convincing than Lindsay Lohan as Elizabeth Taylor. Burton met Taylor at the time the two were making Cleopatra for 20th Century Fox. A troubled production, Cleopatra was initially to have starred Taylor, Peter Finch, and Stephen Boyd, under the direction of Rouben Mamoulian. Mamoulian left, Taylor fell seriously ill, nearly died, and had to have a tracheotomy performed. The end result was a Best Actress Academy Award for her troubles (and for Butterfield 8) and brand new leading men for Cleopatra: Richard Burton as Marc Antony and Rex Harrison as Julius Caesar. By then, Cleopatra also had a new director: two-time Best Director Oscar winner Joseph L. Mankiewicz. A respected stage and screen actor in the ’60s, Richard Burton was nominated for seven Academy Awards. Best Supporting Actor...

Lindsay Lohan / Elizabeth Taylor Lindsay Lohan as Elizabeth Taylor in the Lifetime movie Liz & Dick. Lohan, 26 next July 2, plays Elizabeth Taylor (apparently) at about the time she met Richard Burton in the early ’60s. (Though the Lohan/Taylor picture above looks like something out Richard Brooks’ Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, with Lohan as Maggie the Panther.) Grant Bowler, best known for True Blood and the box-office and critical cataclysm Atlas Shrugged: Part I, plays Richard Burton. The makeup job looks quite impressive, helping to transform Lohan into Taylor. We’ll see — or rather, hear — if Lohan is able to reproduce Taylor’s tones as well. A tabloid queen in her heyday, Elizabeth Taylor won two Best Actress Academy Awards: Daniel Mann’s Butterfield 8, 1960; Mike Nichols’ Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, 1966. Taylor was nominated three other times: Edward Dmytryk’s Raintree County, 1957; Brooks’ Cat on a Hot Tin Roof,...

Lindsay Lohan Elizabeth Taylor movie Liz & Dick (Grant Bowler as Richard Burton) Lindsay Lohan‘s Elizabeth Taylor movie Liz & Dick, to be shown on Lifetime, has its first official photo. Lohan does look like Taylor; whether or not Atlas Shrugged: Part I‘s Grant Bowler passes for Richard Burton is unclear, as he seems to be playing Christopher Lee in the above pic. Much has been said about how absurd it was to cast Lindsay Lohan, of rehab and courtroom notoriety, to play one of the most glamorous stars Hollywood has ever produced. What those people seem to forget — or be ignorant about — is that Elizabeth Taylor, long before she became a Dame of the (now-moribund) British Empire, long before her AIDS Foundation, and not that long before her two Oscar wins, was considered by many to be a selfish, reckless "whore." True, Taylor received four back-to-back Oscar nominations in...

EastEnders' tearaway teen Lola Pearce has been added to the soap's official list of stalker suspects after she became implicated in the mystery in Thursday night's episode. Lola (Danielle Harold) was caught out as she tried to blackmail Phil (Steve McFadden) in the latest edition of the Walford soap - before an accident saw her fall down a set of stairs. Tonight's (Friday) episode sees Lola protest her innocence and it seems that, rather than being the real stalker, she was just trying to use the situation to her advantage for cash. But is Lola telling the truth? Lola is the eleventh possible culprit to be named on the official EastEnders website, joining Michael Moon (Steve John Shepherd), Jack Branning (Scott Maslen), Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks), Rainie Cross (Tanya Franks), Jay Mitchell (Jamie Borthwick), (more)...

The pair, played by Diane Parish and Joshua Pascoe respectively, are the ninth and tenth possible culprits to be unveiled on the soap's official website. EastEnders fans have tipped Denise as a likely perpetrator for some time as she has recently clashed with Phil (Steve McFadden) and has the biggest motive to dredge up the matter of Kevin's death. Meanwhile, Ben remains the bookies' favourite to be revealed as the stalker after Phil struggled to accept his sexuality. EastEnders bosses have previously put Michael Moon (Steve John Shepherd), Jack Branning (Scott Maslen), Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks), Rainie Cross (Tanya Franks), Jay Mitchell (Jamie Borthwick), (more)...

Many TV shows struggling to find a following work out different ways to build a connection between its characters and audience which typically comes about by strong personality-driven episodes and the slow unraveling of their pasts. If the audience doesn’t care about the characters, they don’t care about the show. In Volume 1 and Volume 2 of Skins managed to keep us deeply involved in the lives of the troubled teens that populated its world of sex and drugs, but it wasn’t a success they wanted to dwell on. So with the third season they got a new batch of characters (centered on the younger sister of one of the main characters from the original bunch). With those characters established, we move on to the fourth season and unlike the first two, there’s just not enough interest in the characters to keep people coming back.
