Two years have gone by since a psychological thriller called Apartment 7A – which Relic (watch it Here) director Natalie Erika James helmed for Paramount Players and A Quiet Place collaborators Platinum Dunes and John Krasinski – wrapped filming. Soon after filming came to an end, rumors began to circulate that Apartment 7A was secretly a prequel to the 1968 classic Rosemary’s Baby… and now those rumors have been proven to be true! Deadline broke the news that Apartment 7A will finally be making its way out into the world this fall, as it’s set to receive a Paramount+ release in the U.S. and in select international markets, and in their report they confirmed that this is indeed a Rosemary’s Baby prequel. Maybe the fact that the Omen prequel The First Omen went over well with viewers inspired Paramount to finally release this horror prequel.

The sci-fi horror A Quiet Place franchise is heading to New York with its latest entry, A Quiet Place: Day One, which is set to reach theatres on June 28th. Lance sent in the following description of the trailer: “Set in New York. Lupita Nyong’o looks up to see the aliens shooting down to earth as everyone in the city looks at what seems to be meteors raining down. The synopsis for A Quiet Place: Day 1 is short but sweet: “Experience the day the world went quiet.” The official trailer reveals the day of the attack, showing scenes of the aliens arriving from space and the beginning of humans starting to understand the creatures are attracted to noise.
The prequel focuses on new characters played by Lupita Nyong’o, Joseph Quinn, Alex Wolff, and Djimon Hounsou.
Unlike A Quiet Place and A Quiet Place Part 2, John Krasinski isn’t in the director’s chair and didn’t write the screenplay. Instead, Michael Sarnoski takes over as writer and director. However, the plot is based on Krasinski and Sarnoski’s original idea and is part of Krasinski’s plan to expand the A Quiet Place universe.
Krasinski, Michael Bay, Andrew Form, and Brad Fuller serve as producers. Executive producers include Allyson Seeger and Vicki Dee Rock.

Lupita Nyong’o stars in the first trailer for the long-awaited prequel to John Krasinki’s 2018 horror film. Watch the brand new A Quiet Place: Day One trailer here.
In 2018, it was almost criminal to eat popcorn at the cinema, at least if you were watching John Krasinski’s directorial debut, A Quiet Place. The film paid a lot of attention to sound design and silences so munching away at your popped corn during tense moments, of which there were aplenty, was frowned upon.
Our popcorn eating was interrupted again in 2020 when a sequel, again directed by Krasinki, was released. And now, four years later, we must face the eternal question again: to munch or not to munch during A Quiet Place film? We’ll leave you to make that decision for yourselves.
Take a look at the new A Quiet Place: Day One trailer.
This time, we’re getting a prequel.

As the title suggests, the film will explore the beginning of the invasion in which deadly alien creatures with hyper-sonic hearing arrive on Earth.
The original film and its direct follow-up were helmed by “The Office” and “Jack Ryan” alum John Krasinski, but Michael Sarnoski directs the upcoming third installment. The first two films focused on the survival of the Abbott family, consisting of Krasinski and his real-life wife Emily Blunt as Lee and Evelyn, who do everything they can to protect their children, Regan (Millicent Simmonds) and Marcus (Noah Jupe).
“A Quiet Place Part II’s” cold open showed Lee and the rest of the Abbott family navigating the chaos of the first day of the invasion in their quaint suburban town. The prequel “Day One,...

John Krasinski’s family film, If, will be showcasing a special big game commercial during Super Bowl Lviii. And to tease audiences, we’re treated to a little behind-the-scenes video hosted by Ryan Reynolds and John Krasinski. Except, Krasinski may seem slightly different than you remember. This is because Randall Park once again steps in for Krasinski in a nod to the famous bit from The Office where Park played “Asian Jim” in an attempt to freak out Rainn Wilson’s Dwight. This time, the film’s star, Ryan Reynolds, is the one not buying this little prank. But as best as he tries to call him out, Krasinski remains two steps ahead with a behind-the-scenes video complete with Park as Krasinski.
The official synopsis from Paramount reads,

The sci-fi horror A Quiet Place franchise is heading to New York with its latest entry, A Quiet Place: Day One, which is set to reach theatres on June 28th – but cast member Alex Wolff (Hereditary) doesn’t think the film should be categorized as a sci-fi horror movie. During a red carpet chat with Discussing Film, Wolff said A Quiet Place: Day One is more like an expensive drama.
Wolff told Discussing Film, “That’s not a horror movie, not really. I might get in trouble for saying that. It’s the director of Pig, this film I did, so it’s very… it’s more a drama. It’s weird going from a two million dollar movie (Pig) to, like, a hundred million dollar movie (A Quiet Place: Day One), though, and working in the same proximity, there’s only about four or five characters in it. Paramount is taking us back to A Quiet Place with the upcoming prequel movie A Quiet Place: Day One, which is set to expand the universe of John Krasinski’s hit horror franchise.
But is this new franchise spinoff a horror movie at all?
In a new red carpet interview shared by Discussing Film this week (watch below), Day One star Alex Wolff (Hereditary) describes the upcoming prequel as a large scale drama.
Wolff explains, “That’s not a horror movie. Not really. It’s more a drama.”
The actor notes in the interview that there are “only about four or five characters in it,” and that the budget for A Quiet Place: Day One is somewhere in the ballpark of $100 million.
It’s likely that Wolff means the new movie focuses a bit more on drama than creature feature mayhem, not that there won’t be any monster carnage at all.

Ryan Reynolds discovers his daughter can see everyone’s imaginary friends from their childhood in the teaser trailer for John Krasinski’s fantasy comedy If, which dropped on Thursday.
Not to be confused with It, the 2017 supernatural horror pic, If sees a perplexed Reynolds go on a lighthearted magical adventure with adorable creatures as his daughter, Bea, played by Cailey Fleming, uses her superpower to reconnect forgotten IFs with those that created them in the first place as kids, only to then grow up.
“What kind of kid creates an invisible If?” Reynolds questions at one point in the trailer as he forms an unlikely bond with Bea over her imaginary creatures hatched by childhood minds. If, the new fantasy film written, directed by and starring John Krasinski and Ryan Reynolds, might be a dream come true for fans of that TV series that brought Krasinski to fame: The film’s large cast includes the director’s old Office-mate Steve Carell.
As seen in the the just-released teaser trailer, Carell voices a large purple creature that looks like it could be a distant cousin of McDonald’s Grimace. The Krasinski-Carell reunion is their first since The Office closed up shop in 2013.
The upcoming family-friendly film poses the question: Ever wonder where your imaginary friends go when they’re no longer in your brain? The title doubles as both a cryptic description and an abbreviation for “Imaginary Friends.”
In addition to Reynolds, Krasinski and Carell, If also features Cailey Fleming, Fiona Shaw, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Louis Gossett Jr., Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Maya Rudolph, Jon Stewart, Bobby Moynihan,...

The episode of Wtf Happened to This Horror Movie? covering The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003) was Written by Cody Hamman, Narrated by Adam Walton, Edited by Juan Jimenez, Produced by Andrew Hatfield and John Fallon, and Executive Produced by Berge Garabedian.
In 1974, director Tobe Hooper brought us The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. An independent production, shot in the heat of a Texas summer, that introduced us to a chainsaw-wielding cannibal called Leatherface. And his twisted family. It was a box office hit. And quickly became one of the most popular and respected horror films of all time. So, of course, there was eventually a remake. Produced by one of the biggest, flashiest filmmakers in the industry. Directed by a music video director in his feature debut. Starring an actress from a family friendly TV show. It sounds like a recipe for disaster. But when the remake was released in 2003, it was another success story.

The Nun II is an gothic supernatural horror film directed by Michael Chaves and released in 2023. The screenplay is written by Ian Goldberg, Richard Naing, and Akela Cooper, based on a story by Cooper. This movie serves as a sequel to the 2018 film, The Nun, and is the eighth installment in The Conjuring Universe franchise. The cast includes Taissa Farmiga, Jonas Bloquet, and Bonnie Aarons, who reprise their roles from the first film, along with Storm Reid and Anna Popplewell joining the cast.
As a good sequel, “The Nun II” once again focuses on the elements that made the first one successful: lots of scares and a gothic atmosphere (they say now) with a photography style that emphasizes light and shadow.
Caravaggio’s tenebrism seems to still have its followers, as similar themes are combined, although this time with fewer distorted angles and more scares.

It’s the end of the road for Jack Ryan. Prime Video has slated the premiere date for the fourth and final season of “Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan.”
The espionage action series, which stars John Krasinski as the CIA spy, will premiere the first two episodes of its final season on June 30. Two episodes will be released weekly thereafter, with the finale of the six-episode season debuting on Prime Video on July 14.
The new episodes of “Jack Ryan” come to the streamer only six months after the third season debuted in December. Prime Video debuted all eight episodes of Season 3 simultaneously over the winter, but has shifted to a weekly release structure for the final season. The series was renewed for a fourth season prior to airing episodes of its third.

‘Jack Ryan’ Sets Premiere Date, Release Pattern For Abbreviated Fourth & Final Season On Prime Video
Fans of Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan won’t have to wait long for the series’ final chapter. The fourth and final season of the popular Prime Video series starring John Krasinski will premiere June 30, just over six months after the Dec. 21 release of Season 3. That is by far the shortest gap between seasons, compared to 1 year and 2 months (between Seasons 1 and 2) and 3 years and 2 months (between Seasons 2 and 3).
Season 4 of Jack Ryan also will be the shortest. It will consist of six episodes, two fewer than each of the first three seasons. Additionally, the final installment will follow a different release pattern than Seasons 1-3, which all were dropped as a binge. Season 4 will release two episodes at a time, leading to the series finale on July 14. (Below is key art)

The end is nigh for Tom Clancy’s main superspy, at least at Amazon. On Tuesday, Amazon’s Prime Video announced that the fourth and final season of “Jack Ryan” will premiere June 30 worldwide with two episodes airing each week through to the series finale on July 14.
For those blinking at the news, you’re not wrong: The final run of “Jack Ryan” episodes are dropping just six months after Season 3. That’s by design — series star John Krasinski said back in December that Season 3 and Season 4 were shot back-to-back so fans “wouldn’t have to wait.”

Sometimes horror franchises go to space, and sometimes they go to New York City. Earlier this year, Ghostface headed to New York in Scream VI, following in the footsteps of Jason Voorhees and 1989’s Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan. And during the Paramount presentation the CinemaCon convention today, A Quiet Place and A Quiet Place Part II director John Krasinski revealed that the sci-fi horror A Quiet Place franchise is heading to New York with its latest entry, A Quiet Place: Day One!
While Krasinski directed the previous two films himself, for A Quiet Place: Day One he has passed the helming duties over to Michael Sarnoski, director of the Nicolas Cage drama Pig (watch it Here). Jeff Nichols (Midnight Special) was attached to write and direct A Quiet Place: Day One for a while, but when he dropped out he was replaced by Sarnoski. The story...

John Krasinski has more answers for the who, what and when regarding his feature film project If.
The multihyphenate turned up in Las Vegas on Thursday to make an extended appearance inside Caesars Palace during Paramount Pictures’ studio presentation at CinemaCon. First, he helped debut the first-ever look at A Quiet Place: Day One, the next installment in the franchise he created, though he left directing duties on this film to Michael Sarnoski.
Krasinski, who admitted he was jealous giving up the director’s chair after seeing the footage, stayed in the spotlight after the clip played to break news on If. But first, he joked that he thought it was finally time for him to make a movie that his kids could watch before they are 40 years old.
