George Fleishmann was born in Austria in 1912. He trained at the Berlin
Film Academy and photographed documentaries in Germany before World War
II including Olympia (1936) as a camera operator.
In 1941 he crash landed in Ireland while on a surveillance mission and
was interned at the Curragh Camp, Co. Kildare. He remained in Ireland
after the war and filmed many documentaries and commercials as a
Director of Photography and also as a Producer. In his latter years he
moved to Canada where he died.
