Composer ("Happiness Is", "Roses Are Red"), singer and author, educated
at Columbia University and the Helen Hobbs Jordan School of Music. He
has recorded as both a single and with his ex-wife, Mimi. Joining ASCAP
in 1958, his chief musical collaborators include Al Byron, Jack
Reardon, and Paul Parnes. His other popular-song compositions include
"When", "Happy-Go-Lucky Me", "Live Young", "Followed Closely by My
Teardrops", "I Could Conquer the World", "Johnny Will", "I Gotta Know",
and "Our World".
As a singer, he had great recording success from 1959-1960 with 4 straight hit recordings with "Seven Little Girls Sitting In The Back Seat", "Midnight Special", "Happy Go Lucky Me" and "The Brigade Of Broken Hearts".
