As long as there have been teenagers, there have been troubled teenagers. Adolescence is brutal, a time when people have to learn how to be adults and leave behind their childhoods, all while dealing with raging hormones and a changing body. There are plenty of films about killer teens, capitalizing on adult fears of that turbulent time in their own lives, but what about movies where the troubled teens are the victims and the heroes? Long before the absolutely brilliant "Spontaneous" gave audiences the perfect allegory for surviving school shootings, a messy but star-studded 1998 film dug into just how terrifying it can be to be a teenager. "Disturbing Behavior" is by no means a good movie — studio-demanded cuts made the plot almost nonsensical, and there are some deeply problematic elements — but it did create a "Stepford Wives"-inspired metaphor for surviving high school that's surprisingly apt even today.

It’s time for another episode of the Wtf Happened to This Horror Movie? video series, and with this one we’re looking back at a film that was released in 2000 and kicked off a franchise with four sequels and counting. The film in question is Final Destination (watch it Here), and you can find out all about it by watching the video embedded above.
Directed by James Wong, who crafted the screenplay with Glen Morgan and Jeffrey Reddick, Final Destination has the following synopsis: Alex Browning is embarking on a trip to Paris when he experiences a premonition — he sees the plane explode moments after leaving the ground. Alex insists that everyone get off the plane and 7 people including Alex are forced to disembark. All watch as the plane actually explodes in a fireball. He and the other survivors have briefly cheated death, but will not be able to...

Maybe it's because we're only two episodes back but Blindspot Season 2 Episode 11 feels more like it's taking accounting for another episode than a full episode itself.
"Droll Autumn, Unmutual Lord" is a slow starter that doesn't pick up until its second half and seems like its primary function is to make Jane and Weller reassess their families. Or to make us hate basketball.
The core concept of forcing the FBI to work with the CIA was played out before, and better, in Blindspot Season 1. Not to take anything away from Chad Donella, who plays Keaton, but he'll forever be Jacob Clarke from the miniseries, Taken.
Even when he's trying to be bad it's peanuts compared to what Michael Gaston did as Tom Carter.
Keaton's an annoyance; Carter was someone you full-on loathed. So asking Jane and company to work with Keaton's CIA is more of an irritation than particularly tense,...

Looking like something in the "10 Cloverfield Lane" & "Distirct 9" vein, a mysterious teaser trailer has arrived for "Code 8," a new project by actor cousins Stephen Amell ("Arrow") and Robbie Amell ("The Flash") and "Fast Five" star Sung Kang.
The "Arrow" leading man released this clip today on his social media page and explains some details behind the sci-fi piece. The story is set in a world where 4% of people possess abnormal abilities, but make up 60% of all arrests.
Robbie Amell, Aaron Abrams, Chad Donella and Alfred Rubin Thompson star in the project which Jeff Chan directs from a script by Chris Pare, and both will produce with the Amells, Geoff Mclean, and Tommy Dingwall. An extended trailer and more story details are expected to drop next week on March 22nd.

We start the Top 7. You finish the Top 10.
Killing teenagers on-screen is a bloody cash cow of sorts for Hollywood, however strange our desire to watch such events may be. Before the Final Destination films, the killing of meddling kids was usually up to serial killers like Jason Voorhees or Freddy Krueger. Starting in 2000, director James Wong introduced a new, elusive serial killer to teenagers – Death itself. And instead of being limited by physical capabilities or select iconic weaponry, this villain would be able to destroy its victims in any way it could imagine. Unlike Freddy, this villain would also have the ability to force screws to loosen, or blow something over with a gust of wind.
When deciding upon the “Top 7″ death scenes from the franchise’s five films, one must consider a few things: gruesomeness, memorability, and their importance to the entire philosophy of Death, according to the franchise.

Look what happens when a Final Destination film goes without Tony Todd; we get garbage like The Final Destination. Well, that’s in the past and, today, Death embarks on a brand new adventure, bringing viciously creative kills to the big screen in Final Destination 5. We first met Tony Todd’s Bludworth in the first film of the series when Clear (Ali Larter) takes Alex (Devon Sawa) to say goodbye to his best pal Tod (Chad Donella) before they bury his corpse. That takes the duo to the local funeral home where they crack open a skylight and make their way in. Sure enough, there’s Tod’s lifeless body, with a rough attempt to cover up the wire marks on his neck. That’s when Bludworth steps in to deliver some Death 101. Honestly, would you have known...

Clark (Tom Welling) looks at magazine covers in the barn, following Oliver's (Justin Hartley) revelation about being the Green Arrow. More self-deprecating on his part and after looking at the cover from Time, which asks 'S' is a hero? Something Clark questions himself. Lois (Erica Durance) enters wanting him to go to their reunion tomorrow. She then notices the magazines and comments, "hero-haters." Clark doesn't want people putting their hope or faith in someone who'll let them down. Lois is adamant the Blur will never let them down and she'll always stand by him. This scene almost felt like he thought Lois knew his secret, otherwise why would he be having this conversation with her. Clark needs a good-old fashioned shake-up cos he's still having his doubts. Lois wants to attend their 5 year reunion and reminds him she was at school for 23 days, 5 of which was in actual attendance. He finally agrees to go.

Saw 3D The Final Chapter (Blu-Ray)Lionsgate Home Entertainment2010/90 mins/UnratedList Price $39.99 – Now AvailableThe Saw franchise is actually a guilty pleasure for me, I like these films. Strange, since the first time I saw the original, it didn't click with me. I grew tired of its many subplots and flashbacks plus trying to guess exactly who the Jigsaw killer was. Once his identity was revealed, it gave the brilliant Tobin Bell the opportunity to create one of the most iconic villains in the horror genre. Except when you look at it from a certain point of view, Jigsaw isn't really a villain. He's not a serial killer either, but a scientist and philosopher, hoping to give people a new appreciation for their lives through trials by fire. At least that's how he looks at it. But you have to hand it to Jigsaw. Those few who survive his deadly traps...

Billed as the final film in the series, Saw 3D is the first of the new decade, and though its hardly worse than the sequels that preceded it, it is looking more and more out of step with the times. Despite its detractors being that much louder than any of its fans, Saw was undeniably the horror franchise most emblematic of the Bush II administration era, in the same way that watching a Nightmare on Elm Street film can’t help but make you think Reagan’s still in office. But whether or not the Saw films will leave the lasting impression that those films remains to be seen, and based on this installment, a more than fair argument could be made that it will not. While the central themes of Saw could scarcely have better embodied the concerns of the last decade, its images and characters haven’t matched it in vitality.

The Saw series comes to an end with this final entry (or so it is billed). This time around they added 3D ballyhoo to Jigsaw and his gruesome traps. However, this seventh entry started to show the seams in the long running torture trip. It would be near impossible to give a plot description without spoiling something from Saws 1-6 so you.ve been warned. Jigsaw (Tobin Bell) is still dead but his accomplice Detective Hoffman (Costas Mandylor) barely escapes a trap set by Jigsaw.s widow Jill Tuck (Betsy Russell). Jill escapes and goes to Det. Matt Gibson (Chad Donella) to testify against Hoffman if she.s granted full immunity and police protection. Around town, Bobby Dagen (Sean Patrick...

Diane Lane, Amanda Michalka in Randall Wallace's Secretariat Saw 3D was the no. 1 movie at the North American box-office chart for the last time — no doubt about it — on Thursday, Nov. 4, bringing in $1.22m according to figures found at Box Office Mojo. As per various weekend box-office predictions, Saw 3D is expected to go way, way down this weekend, after losing out many of its 3D locations to Dreamworks/Paramount's Megamind, the likely box-office champion of the fall season. Also ahead of Saw 3D will be Todd Phillips' poorly received R-rated comedy Due Date, starring Robert Downey Jr and Zach Galifianakis, and Tyler Perry's drama (not a typo) For Colored Girls, with Janet Jackson and Whoopi Goldberg, among other actresses. Is this really the seventh film in as many years? Yes, it’s Saw o’clock and it must be time to completely forget what made the first film so good (all over again). While the original entry had the brilliant concept of people being placed in devious traps they had to survive in order to appreciate their lives, it was also great because it was a) relatively bloodless and b) you didn’t want to see a man cut off his foot. Every subsequent sequel has ignored that second point and been stuffed to the gills with complete bastards that the audience is supposed to want to see be tortured and die horribly. If this isn’t torture porn one step removed from snuff, then what is?...

The ads for Saw 3D depicting Jigsaw as a giant construction project are more accurate than the marketers probably know. The latest and, supposedly, last of this by now exhausted franchise is as mechanical as they come, and a big comedown from the unexpectedly decent previous entry.
Saw VI managed to inject some fresh urgency and character quirks into the formula, but Saw 3D is as grindingly impersonal as the assorted torture devices it spotlights. By now, any tangible attempt to engage us with intriguing characters and a sense of mystery is gone; all that’s left is a series of death setpieces strung together with half-assed plotting and weak acting, “enhanced” by the addition of 3-D. The dimensional process used here is Ok and provides a bit of atmospheric depth to certain sequences, though it has mostly been employed to spew guts and other body parts into the audience’s face…...

Plot: In this final film from the horror franchise, a man (Flannery) faces Jigsaw’s (Bell) wrath when he becomes a successful writer who lies about having survived one of the serial killer’s elaborate torture traps. At the same time, Jigsaw apprentice Hoffman (Mandylor) is trying to conclude the work while being chased by an old ally on the police force named Gibson (Donella).
Who’S It For? This gnarly finale is for those who already care about Jigsaw and Co. before even considering to check this one out. Saw VII 3D is not the ideal random selection when it comes to making a trip to the movies.
Expectations: I’ve only missed one Saw film. My relationship with the franchise is akin...

Well, at least they know how to cut to the chase. With the subtlety and cunning of a dropped bag of hammers, the latest installment of this well worn franchise picks up immediately after the last. And it does so in a manner guaranteed to confuse anyone not intimately familiar with its history. In truth, Saw 3D is so amusingly over-baked and over-the-top from the start, it’s hard to be truly disturbed by any of it. In fact, it’s especially difficult not to chuckle when the majority of its performers are directed to consistently growl, scream and yell in cheesy histrionics. How exactly can a film build tension from there?
The film’s first major stunt involves a new and elaborate trap, set up in a very public courtyard (wonder how Jigsaw got the city permit for that one). It’s intended to punish a two-timing woman by...

Title: Saw 3D Directed By: Kevin Greutert Starring: Sean Patrick Flanery, Costas Mandylor, Betsy Russell, Cary Elwes, Tobin Bell, Chad Donella After five films that never achieved the same effect as the original, expectations were at rock bottom for the seventh installment of the Saw franchise, Saw 3D. All director Kevin Greutert and his team had to do was manage to at least keep it on par with the rest. Sadly, not only did Greutert fail miserably, but he had to take all of the other six films down with him. Warning: Spoiler Alert This installment’s centerpiece is a Jigsaw survivor named Bobby Dagen (Sean Patrick Flanery). Ever since his “rehabilitation,” he’s been [...]...

For every large scale tragedy, there are a few unscrupulous individuals who will try to whore it for cash. After 9/11, there were instances of fake 'survivors' that tried to cash in with sob stories. There have been fake vets of the war in the Middle East, and fake survivors of hurricane Katrina.
Jigsaw has been at his game for quite some time now, and apparently he's been torturing and murdering the crap out of tens of thousands of people; this is just a humble estimate, going by all the nameless survivors who appear to tell their story in Saw 3D. Bobby Decker (Flanery) sees all the attention these survivors are getting,...

The seventh and final film in the Saw franchise, Saw 3D, lands before our eyes. Mark finds out whether the series is going out on a high...
Everything has been leading to this. Or so you'd think. Let's be frank, if we've learnt anything from our series of articles revisiting the Saw series over the last week, it's that the franchise is so wrapped up in retcons, flashbacks and time-bending shenanigans that you couldn't really be surprised if this one had turned out to take place in 2003, before even that very first film back in 2004.
At the very least, I assure you that we're not looking at a prequel. This is very much a straight continuation from the end of Saw VI, and some time during the last year, we find Jigsaw's ex, Jill Tuck, has lost a considerable amount of badass points from having vengefully trapped Jigsaw's bungling successor,...

The people responsible for the 'Saw' franchise have said that the seventh entry, 'Saw 3D,' will be the last one. If that's true -- and there's no reason to believe it is -- then it's a fitting conclusion. Part 7 takes us back to the beginning in many ways, wrapping up some loose ends and reminding us of how goofy the whole thing has become. Even better, you get to pay extra for your ticket and wear dark glasses while you watch it!
You will recall that Jigsaw (Tobin Bell) -- the cancer-ridden sociopath with the God complex who tortures people until they appreciate life again -- died, like, four movies ago. He lives on through the magic of flashbacks, though, and also thanks to the tireless efforts of a police detective named Hoffman (Costas Mandylor), who continues to find Jigsaw-worthy...

Another trailer has surfaced for the sure to be brutal Saw 3D. In the graphic, a hundred foot Jigsaw is put together with helicopters, rigs and robotic soldering arms. The poster promises that this will be the final film, but that is unlikely. However, the poster art does show the gigantic size to which the Saw series has grown to.
