Quantum Leap stars Raymond Lee and Caitlin Bassett had nothing but good things to say about their time on the NBC drama, which has been cancelled after two seasons.
In response to news that the show is not returning for Season 3, Lee wrote on Instagram on Friday, “Just wanted to say a thank you to our Ql fans and those who’ve tuned in. Your support was felt and always warmly received. You all have made it the ride of a lifetime.

The new series of Quantum Leap has brought in many elements from the original show. The returns of Beth (Susan Diol) and one-time leapee Magic (Ernie Hudson), name-checking the Evil Leapers, addressing the question of whether Sam (Scott Bakula) ever made it home, and many more. But two seasons in a major part of Quantum Leap lore has failed to be even hinted at.
Sam’s daughter. Sammy Jo.
Introduced as part of the “Trilogy” series of episodes in 1992 in the original Quantum Leap’s fifth and final season, Sammy Jo’s origin is complicated. The three episodes follow Sam as he leaps into different people attempting to help a woman named Abigail Fuller, who in each leap is accused of murder. Sam first meets her as a young girl in “Trilogy Part 1” when he leaps into her father, saving her from being killed.

This article contains spoilers for Quantum Leap season 2 episode 5.
When the new Quantum Leap series debuted, a bomb was dropped on longtime fans of the sci-fi series. Al (Dean Stockwell) had died off screen in the years between shows. This of course was done since Stockwell had passed away before the new Quantum Leap had gone into production. Thankfully the character wasn’t forgotten as Al’s wife Beth (Susan Diol) made several appearances in season one which helped provide a wonderful link to the first series.
In the most recent episode of the second season, “One Night in Koreatown,” Beth makes another appearance where it’s confirmed that she and Magic (Ernie Hudson) are in a relationship. A crucial part of what brought them together was, in the years after seemingly losing Ben in time, Magic became an alcoholic. Beth specifically draws a comparison between Magic and Al, stating...

There's a market for nostalgia, and NBC's cashed in big with its newest hit, Quantum Leap.
The 2022 revival of the popular 1980s Scott Bakula-anchored time travel series came in like a quantum accelerator, throwing everything and everyone into the mix.
While maintaining some temporal continuity with the original series, the new Quantum Leap introduced viewers to the team behind the project rather than just the leaper and his guide.
What is Quantum Leap about?
The initial twelve-episode order was quickly upped to a full eighteen-episode season, and the leaps got wilder as Dr. Ben Song (Raymond Lee) slowly regained his memories of why he took his unauthorized leap in the first place.
Guided by his workmate and fiancée, Addison (Caitlin Bassett), he managed to survive each leap into various individuals facing moments of crisis that would change their lives and the future.
In turn, Addison relied on the Q.

There's a lot more leaping in our future, Fanatics!
After a thirty-year break, the Quantum Leap project is once again a going concern, and NBC is backing it with an early renewal, guaranteeing fans will have more adventures with Dr. Ben Song and his team to look forward to.
Quantum Leap is currently on its midseason hiatus, having aired eight episodes and with ten more to come after NBC added six more episodes in October to its initial twelve-episode season order.
A continuation of the 1990's sci-fi time travel adventure that starred Scott Bakula and Dean Stockwell, the new series has done an admirable job treading a new path while paying respect to the canon that has come before.
2022's Quantum Leap is more of an ensemble cast than its predecessor, with Ernie Hudson, Caitlin Bassett, Mason Alexander Park, and Nanrisa Lee starring alongside Raymond Lee as the time-traveling Dr.

This Quantum Leap review contains spoilers.
Quantum Leap Episode 3
Quantum Leap episode 3 has a funny title. In the opening scenes of this installment, our leaper, Dr. Ben Song (Raymond Lee), says the exact opposite line, “somebody up there must hate me,” when he lands in the body of a middle-weight boxing champ on the eve of his world championship match. Ben is quickly knocked out cold by his sparring partner, a fate which may be justly due to him as the Quantum Leap Project’s team learns more about Ben’s covert activities in the six months leading up to his unauthorized leap into history.
For the first time in Quantum Leap’s existence, a leaper has exceeded the timeline of his lifespan and jumped back to a period before his birth. Team member and Ziggy expert, Ian Wright (Mason Alexander Park), confirms that Ben’s uploaded code removed many of the safety protocols,...

Instead of returning home, Ben’s jump in this week’s Quantum Leap found him in the body of astronaut David Temura aboard the space shuttle Atlantis in 1998.

Physicist Dr. Ben Song (Raymond Lee) leaps from being part of a gang attempting to steal the Hope Diamond in episode one to being a member of the Atlantis space shuttle crew in NBC’s Quantum Leap episode two. All his friends and fellow lab employees hoped he’d leap from 1985 back to the present, but that’s definitely not the case as he’s currently stuck in 1998.
The space shuttle successfully launches and even reluctant traveler Ben’s wowed by the view from space. Their mission is to put the first piece of the International Space Station in place, and he listens to pilot Samantha Stratton (Carly Pope) and Commander Jim Reynolds (Jose Zuniga) exchange friendly banter. Stratton promises she’s going to make Reynolds proud as Ben is mesmerized by the stars.

"It's not a crime... It's theater!" An official trailer has debuted for a wacky comedy titled Loqueesha, a new film made by comedian Jeremy Saville, who directs and also stars in it, and wrote the screenplay. Get ready for this. "With a diverse cast of breakthrough actors, Loqueesha takes viewers on an unexpected and thought-provoking journey that challenges society’s—and our own—conventional beliefs about identity and perception." Saville stars as Joe, a white guy who pretends to be a black female talk radio host and becomes a huge hit. The full cast includes Mara Hall, Dwayne Perkins, Susan Diol, Michael Madison, Tiara Parker, and Michael Matts. This is um, a pretty bold concept for these times for a film, but it might just work? Check it out for yourself and see if you think this looks as terrible as it sounds. Perhaps you'll laugh? Here's the first official...

Night Court was a 1980’s comedy starring Harry Anderson and had running through its court system many future stars, such as Michael Richards, Brent Spiner, Gregory Itzin, Nancy Marchand, and Susan Diol. Most of the show took place in Judge Stone’s courtroom with every kind of wacky personality you can imagine. It is likely many of them were taken from the real life events at a night court in New York. John Laraquette was the district attorney, and various women played the public defender throughout its 5 year run. In this clip, Eugene Sleighbough believes he is invisible to people.

Once again, we’re celebrating great guest performances in one of our favourite shows. We’re defining a guest appearance as an actor who plays a particular character no more than twice over the run of the show. Remember when Sarah Silverman was in Star Trek: Voyager? We salute that and 9 other ace guest turns in the show...
Star Trek: Voyager does not share the good reputation of its predecessors The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine, with some fans disappointed that the inherent conflict between Starfleet and Maquis characters was not explored further, others perhaps put off by the really rather dull and occasionally ridiculous second season. However, Voyager was as capable as any other Star Trek series of producing memorable stories and excellent performances, and for those of us for whom it is our favourite branch of the Star Trek franchise (yes, we do exist) it is worth celebrating some of the things it did really well – in this case, the actors and actresses who came to join the show for guest performances.
