There’s been a lot of good found-footage films coming out recently, such as Tahoe Joe 2 and Woods Witch. Now there’s The Glenarma Tapes, an Irish film that begins by telling us that seven people went missing in the woods around Glenarma one night in 2020. One was later found near death and in a coma. Two years later, the police found the footage we’re about to see…
The footage starts innocently enough, as we watch Gordy (Warren McCook; Hope Street) go through his day as a student at Mid Ulster College of Art. His friend Jimmy is making a day-in-the-life type film for his class project. He’s certainly an interesting subject, going from making insightful comments about Romeo and Juliet to...

A group of teens wander into the woods, never to be found again in Irish found footage freakout The Glenarma Tapes. A new trailer teases some of the horrors ahead for the ill-fated bunch.
Dark Sky Films releases The Glenarma Tapes on VOD and Digital on April 2, 2024.
Watch the new trailer below.
The film’s official synopsis: “In Spring 2020 five students and two faculty members from the Mid Ulster College of Art went missing in a forest on the north coast of Ireland. What happened on the day they disappeared has remained a mystery – until now. Over two years after the disappearance, a police operation on a house outside Belfast uncovered footage of the students’ final movements, as their journey into the forest saw them bear witness to something they should never have seen. The Glenarma Tapes present that footage to the public for the first time.”

Some films begin with a grander idea than one they can actually execute. For a film, it’s good to have a grand concept, no doubt, but it’s better when the film knows that it doesn’t and begins from an honest space. Fast Charlie, the 2023 Pierce Brosnan film, never tries to become ‘bigger,’ a ‘spectacle,’ and therein lies its strength. With some clever writing from Richard Wenk and Victor Gischler, Fast Charlie benefits from Brosnan’s on-screen persona and Morena Baccarin’s turn as a high-iq taxidermist who just knows how to calmly deal with the criminal world if ever it comes too close to destroying her own. There is James ‘Jimmy’ Caan in a short but emotionally powerful role as well, and he plays his bit well in the penultimate film of his career. Through some engaging twists and turns, the film becomes a refreshing action thriller...

Welcome to this week’s review of Nxt, right here on Nerdly. Let’s get straight into it and see what went down in this episode…
Match #1: Nxt Tag Team Championship Match – Tony D’Angelo & Stacks def. Chase U The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
The gold is coming back to The Family as Tony D’Angelo and Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo reclaimed the Nxt Tag Team Titles just weeks after losing them to Chase U at Halloween Havoc. Jacy Jayne once again tried to interfere in the match, but a clearly distracted Andre Chase refused her help, allowing Tony D and Stacks to hit Bada Bing Bada Boom and become the new champions.
My Score: 2.5 out of 5 Match #2: Iron Survivor Qualifying Match – Lash Legend def. Roxanne Perez The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
The Meta-Four’s Lash Legend stunned Roxanne Perez to qualify for the Iron Survivor Challenge at Nxt Deadline.

Match #1: Devil’s Playground Match – Roxanne Perez def. Kiana James The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Wearing Freddy Krueger inspired ring gear, Roxanne Perez channeled her inner demons to conquer Kiana James in a Devil’s Playground Match. Weapons and chaos engulfed the ringside area as playground equipment was used in the most unholiest of ways, paving the way for Perez to hit a Pop Rox on the outside to pick up the victory.
My Score: 2 out of 5 Match #2: Lexis King def. Dante Chen The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Well, well, well. Nxt now have the No Mercy Ple brand and this is the first version of the PPV which started back in 1999, right here in the UK! With that being said, let’s see what went down on the first Nxt: No Mercy…
Match #1: Blair Davenport def. Kelani Jordan The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
The destructive Blair Davenport sent another message to the Nxt women’s locker room by defeating upstart newcomer Kelani Jordan to kick off Nxt No Mercy. Davenport mocked her opponent throughout the match, but her overconfidence backfired as Jordan rallied with her innovative and athletic offense. Despite the Nxt Universe firmly in her corner, Jordan couldn’t muster up enough to overcome her veteran opponent as Davenport’s suplex driver gave her the victory.
My Score: 2 out of 5 Match #2: Baron Corbin def. Bron Breakker The following is courtesy of wwe.

Welcome to Give Me the Fear, a new Frightfest 2023 preview series hosted by screenwriter Stuart Wright.
These brief, spoiler-free interviews will – across the entire series – help you to discover the kind of knowledge and experience about how to make indie horror films that they don’t teach at film school.
After looking back at the blood, sweat and tears that went into their creative successes, I ask them one last question: If you could hand pick one person to be in the audience for your Frightfest screening, who would it be and why? I think you going to love the answers this question elicits.
This episode features The Glenerama Tapes (Tony Devlin), The J-Horror Virus (Jasper Sharp) and Transmission (Michael J Hurst)

Match #1: Nxt Tag Team Championships – Tony D’Angelo & Stacks def. The Dyad The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
The Nxt Tag Team Titles remain with The Family as Tony D’Angelo and Stacks retained their titles against Rip Fowler and Jagger Reid of The Dyad. The leader of Schism, Joe Gacy, brought a host of followers to ringside, but their presence ended up becoming a hindrance as when Ivy Nile arrived, their attention from the match got diverted. As Nile stood at ringside yelling at Schism, two masked followers jumped the barricade and attacked The Dyad, allowing Tony D to hit a modified uranage to pick up the win.
My Score: 3 out of 5 Match #2: Blair Davenport def. Dana Brooke The following is courtesy of wwe.
