Exclusive: London-based Dogwoof has boarded world sales, excluding North America, on The Last Rider, the latest documentary from MRC Non-Fiction and filmmaker Alex Holmes on the story of cyclist Greg LeMond.
The deal was negotiated between Dogwoof CEO Anna Godas and Amit Dey, MRC’s Executive Vice President of Non-Fiction. This is the second Alex Holmes film Dogwoof has represented, following 2019’s Maiden. The Last Rider will make its World Premiere at Telluride this weekend. Dogwoof will present the film to buyers ahead of TIFF.
The doc follows the story of Greg LeMond, who came back from the brink of death after a hunting accident to win the closest race in the history of the Tour de France beating his rivals Laurent Fignon and Pedro Delgado. LeMond remains the only American to have won the race without performance-enhancing drugs.

If you were born in or before the 80s, you probably watched Popeye cartoons before school (Sorry 90s kids, I don't know your life). Maybe you even sang the charming ditty about his garbage can home. If you did, you are probably healthier for it. The cartoon boosted spinach sales when it aired, and a 2010 study found that kids ate more vegetables after watching the series. Sometimes I still buy Popeye brand spinach. Interestingly, Popeye’s original superpower was indestructibility, not superstrength, and it was acquired after he rubbed the head of Bernice the Whiffle Hen multiple times after being shot. But that was a) weird, and b) not going to make America strong, so the vitamin A-packed green became the source of his power.
In tribute to all that Popeye has done for us, the Hero Complex Gallery has a special show of artwork inspired by the leafy green loving hero.

The slick (slightly Joe Mad-esque) pencils are by thekidKaos (known as Pedro Delgado), and the amazing colors were done by BoOoM (aka Nicolas Chapuis). You can find their respective galleries here and here, and if you like their work make sure to leave them a comment or two. ...
