The former Penn State assistant football coach was sentenced on Oct. 9 to 30-60 years in prison for sexually abusing 10 young boys over 15 years. Jerry Sandusky, who was found guilty on June 22 of 45 counts of sexual abuse, was sentenced on Oct. 9 to no less than 30 years in prison, meaning the 68-year-old will likely die in jail. Jerry was found guilty of sexually abusing 10 young boys over a 15-year period during his time as an assistant football coach at Penn State University. Sandusky also founded The Second Mile in 1977, a charity program that served more than 100,000 underprivileged kids. It has sinec closed in wake of the sex abuse scandal. "I didn’t do these alleged disgusting acts," Jerry said in a statement before Judge John Cleland imposed his sentence. "I speak today with hope in my heart for a brighter day...this is the worst loss of my life." What do You think of the sentencing HollyMoms?...

Just when you thought the Jerry Sandusky sex scandal was winding to a close, with the jury beginning deliberations on 48 charges related to sexual abuse (three charges were thrown out by Judge John Cleland), one of Sandusky's adopted sons claims to be a victim of the former Penn State defensive coordinator.
The Harrisburg Patriot-News' Sarah Ganim, who won a Pulitzer for her work on the Sandusky scandal, reported this evening that Matt Sandusky, 33, told prosecutors that he was a victim and would have testified. Matt relayed the information through his lawyer, Andrew Shubin, and has yet to speak directly to the media.
Matt Sandusky had previously claimed not to have been abused by his adoptive father, but he told prosecutors this week that he would have testified against Jerry had he come forward sooner. Matt's biological mother, Debra Long, testified before the 2011 grand jury that ultimately was responsible for Jerry Sandusky's arrest.

Former assistant football coach for Penn State Jerry Sandusky has been on trial this week for the 51 child sex-abuse charges against him from various boys he mentored via the Second Mile program in the 1990s. Thursday (June 21) Judge John Cleland had three of the charges dismissed before the attorneys started their closing arguments, reports the AP.
The judge found one count of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and one count of aggravated indecent assault stemming from Victim 4 were not support by the evidence. The judge detailed that the two counts leveled by Victim 4 were dismissed because Victim 4 admitted that Sandusky attempted to penetrate him, but did not say that penetration had actually occurred. Another charge of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse involving another boy was dismissed because the judge says it duplicates another count.
Sandusky still faces 48 criminal counts that involve 10 different alleged victims. Jurors will hear closing arguments Thursday morning and...

The Jerry Sandusky defense team had what is being called its biggest moment of the trial today, as the defense provided an audio tape this morning of two Pennsylvania State Troopers conversing with the lawyer of Victim 4 when neither party realized the tape was recording.
With Victim 4 out of the room, state police corporal Joeseph Leiter talks with attorney Ben Andreozzi in a conversation that Judge John Cleland said may call into question whether or not investigator coached and instructed accusers on what to say when reporting the type of abuse they suffered from Jerry Sandusky.
"The issue," Cleland said with the court seated and the jury present, "is whether or not seeds were planted by the officer."
In the conversation, Leiter tells Andreozzi of accusations that other alleged victims had made of Sandusky.
"Oh, you're kidding, the time frame matches up?" Andreozzi says. "Can we at some point say to [Victim 4], 'Listen,...

Last week the Jerry Sandusky trial was graphic and disturbing, as young men took the stand as prosecution witnesses to detail the horrific sexual abuse they accuse Sandusky of perpetrating against them as boys.
This week, the trial is bound to get weird. The last prosecution witness has taken the stand and now it's the turn of the Sandusky defense team, led by Joe Amendola, to present its case. Amendola suggested in his opening statement that Jerry Sandusky himself will take the stand, a suggestion that he reinforced last Thursday.
"Did I make an opening statement?" the 63-year-old Amendola quipped to reporters when asked abot Sandusky testifying. "I'm Catholic. I don't lie."
Apparently, Amendola lacks the sense of irony that would have kept him from invoking his Catholicism in a sexual abuse case.
The defense called its first witnesses today, two former coaching colleagues of Sandusky's who spoke of Sandusky's...

I've got good news for you: This whole Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse thing is a big misunderstanding, a classic mixup. See, Sandusky doesn't like to have sex with pre-pubescent boys; he just galavants around seeking attention for himself! That's what explains his letters to boys, his charity work, his generally creepy demeanor and all that jazz. So let's just all go home, get Jerry the treatment he needs, and forget this whole thing ever happened.

The judge in the Jerry Sandusky Penn State case, John Cleland, has refused to dismiss the charges against the former assistant football coach, the Los Angles Times is reporting. Cleland hasn’t explained his reasoning for ruling against the defense’s motion to have the charges dismissed. As a result, the 62-year-old Sandusky will face 52 counts of abusing 10 boys over the course of a 15-year period. Some of the incidents reportedly occurred at Penn State, about 10 miles from the courthouse in Bellefonte. Opening statements in the trial, which will be held at the courthouse, are scheduled to begin on Monday. The ruling is the latest blow to Sandusky’s defense, [ Read More ]...

The Carrie Diaries will explore a young Miss Bradshaw as she discovers the love of her life, New York City. And it can't be NYC without a gay best friend, even if he doesn't know he's gay yet. The CW pilot cast Brendan Dooling in the role of Carrie's best friend. Austin Butler will play the love interest, presumably for Carrie.
In a little noticed bit in a December interview that's now making mainstream news, Rick Santorum says that if elected, he'd make sure that not only would we get a federal Constitutional amendment against marriage equality, it would nullify all existing same-sex marriage, which numbered 131,000 in the 2010 census. The family values crowd sure does like destroying families.

Sorry for the scant participation from me, this week. I've been tied up this week doing the "producer" and "professor" thing, much more than usual. Yesterday was a rather fun afternoon. Met the Judas Kiss product placement fellow, Richard Hagerty. Talk about energetic and imaginative!
For those of you who don't know, a product placement coordinator (Ppc) is a go-between for movie productions and industries & manufacturers looking to get their products featured in those movie productions. Often, the Ppc is even able to find companies willing to invest money in a film, provided their products are prominently showcased. With Judas Kiss, Richard lined up the Aqua VI clothing label to provide wardrobe for the production: pretty cool.
Richard had some great ideas to enhance an upcoming fundraiser we're holding. If we can pull everything together, we'll definately have kicked something that was already going to be a fun event into the super-duper-funo-stratosphere.

Last week we brought you the Gibson acoustic Guitar from Hannah Montana: The Movie and this week our gadget spot is something completely different. Racing cars, attractive women and fast paced action are almost guaranteed to get you a large (male) audience, and Fast & Furious does just that. For all you budding racing drivers out there we’ve got the Sparco Pro 2000 Seats from the movie as this week’s spot. Sparco have been manufacturing auto parts since 1977 and have been distributing these for over 20 years in the Us, boasting that they are “undeniably the most reliable, technically advanced and experienced manufacturer of racing car seats in the world.”
The Pro 2000’s were winners in their debut during the 1995 season, and won the British Touring Car Championship with John Cleland and Vauxhall. They’re used by racers all over the world because they are extremely light weight but rigid enough...

Oh, stop your tittering. All you know is that Fanny Hill is that naughty bawdy 18th-century novel [Amazon U.S.] [Amazon U.K.] that got its author, John Cleland, into so much trouble so long ago, and has since become a byword for the evils of censorship and the necessity of freedom of expression. But if you’re looking for something pornographic in this BBC adaptation of the novel, forget it, mister. You might just get a lesson in female backbone and autonomy, though. That’s a pretty shocking lesson from 250 years ago, seeing as how we’ve barely learned it today. Sure, innocent, innocent orphan Fanny Hill (delightful newcomer Rebecca Night), “fresh from the country” to London in the mid 1700s, gets taken advantage of... as does many a young woman today, what with so many of us still thinking it’s “proper” to keep the female of the species as ignorant of her own...
