LONDON -- The BBC on Wednesday dismissed protests about a television program that teaches women to manage their husbands like pet dogs, despite more than 200 complaints from viewers. The pubcaster said it has no plans to cancel or alter the BBC2 hidden camera show, "Bring Your Husband to Heel", in which women use dog-handling techniques to alter their husbands' domestic and social behavior. Wives are handed pet-show style winner's rosettes for successfully "bringing their husbands to heel." The Talkback-produced show is based on the idea that men share 85% of their DNA with canines, and features dog trainer Annie Clayton training wives in mutt management techniques aimed at improving their husbands messiness, selfishness and lack of domestic awareness.
