- On June 17, 1951, she made headlines when she disclosed to the Associated Press that she would be marrying Attorney Henry Taecker, of Los Angeles, at the Village Lutheran Church in Westwood, California, on Christmas Eve of that year. However, four months later, she publicly announced that she was breaking off her engagement citing mental abuse and infidelity as the cause for her decision. Taecker later resigned from his own profession and dropped from view never to be seen again.
