- Erik Charell was born on April 9, 1895 in Breslau, Silesia, Germany [now Wroclaw, Dolnoslaskie, Poland]. He was a writer and director, known for Congress Dances (1931), Fireworks (1954) and Im Weissen Rössl (1952). He died on July 15, 1974 in Zurich, Switzerland.
