As J. Cole put a bow on this year’s Dreamville Festival, he worked an apology heard-’round-hip-hop into the introduction to one of his biggest and most sentimental songs, “Love Yourz.” “The past two days have felt terrible,” he said, earnestly admitting he’s lost sleep over “7 Minute Drill,” his nuanced but ill-received jab back at Kendrick Lamar for dissing him and Drake (mostly Drake) on Future and Metro Boomin’s “Like That.”
On stage, Cole explained that “Love Yourz” signified a turning point a decade ago, one where...

DJ Mr. Cee (real name Calvin Lebrun) has left his job as at New York's Hot 97 radio station after allegedly soliciting sex from Bimbo Winehouse, a cross-dressing male prostitute. Winehouse has posted the alleged encounter on his YouTube channel.
Hot 97's general manager Alexandra Cameron says in a statement, "Due to some personal circumstances that have become public, after 20 years of service, Mr. Cee has chosen to resign. We feel that this is in the best interest of both Hot 97 and Cee's personal well being. While we do not endorse the alleged activities, he is clearly facing a personal dilemma that is for him and only him to comment on."
Mr. Cee tweets of the incident, "I let everyone down I have issues please don't give up on me. I need help, just can't deal right now. Maybe better off dead ... I announced my resignation today from the job I...

In case you hadn't heard, Calvin Lebrun (a.k.a. influential hip hop producer and DJ Mister Cee) was arrested last week in a sex sting. The NYPD "Secret Fellatio Task Force" (plum assignment there!) caught him in the back seat of a parked car with twenty-year-old Brooke-Lynn Pinklady.
Mister Cee is a pretty big deal in the hip hop world. He worked as the deejay for Big Daddy Kane and he was a producer on Notoriious B.I.G.'s debut album. Currently, he's a radio DJ for NYC radio station Hot 97.
As you can probably imagine a lot of people in the notoriously homophobic rap community are taking pot shots at him.
Of course, if the married Mister Cee had been caught in a compromising position with a biological woman he probably would've gotten cheers, but getting caught with a guy? That's a...

My plane had just landed at La Guardia (I had just gotten my signal back) when I heard Mr. Cee, a Hot 97 DJ and hip hop veteran (for those of you outside the tri-state area), allegedly got caught by NYPD getting dome from a male prostitute last Wednesday. In turn, the story goes viral Sunday night and the message boards of every Black site reporting the story go nuts with homophobic rants on Monday...
