Donald Glover and Maya Erskine are the new Mr. & Mrs. Smith in Prime’s latest original series inspired by the 1996 series and 2005 film of the same name. Created by Francesca Sloane and Donald Glover, the Prime series revolves around two lonely strangers who are paired up in an arranged marriage to work as spies by a mysterious agency, that sends them on deadly missions. If you loved the humor, action, and romance in Mr. & Mrs. Smith, here are some similar shows you could watch while hoping for a renewal.

Secret Agents. We love them. What’s not to love? They go to exotic locations, seduce beautiful women, use insanely cool gadgets, drive awesome cars, and just kick ass. I don’t know about you, but I wanted to be one when I was growing up. But the thought of doing a push-up at the time was as hard as skydiving. So I grew up, and the closest I ever got was asking for a vodka martini shaken, not stirred, at a bar once….which I immediately spit out on the floor. So yeah, I was never going to be James Bond.
But then I found a show that made me believe that in another world, a schlubby loser like me could be a superspy. What was the show? Well, it was Chuck, of course.
Yes, Chuck, the show about that Best Buy… Uh, I mean…. “Buy More”, Geek Squad…...

This week’s episode of Chuck took a back seat in exhilaration and heart pounding action. Ordinarily, a break from all of the action would be fitting but with these being the final episodes of the series… much is expected. And unfortunately there was not enough action… or comedy. Last night’s episode actually seemed rather slow moving. With such dynamite episodes in the past few weeks, this change of pace did not go unnoticed. So while this episode does not stand out among the rest, it did provide for some entertainment.
In “Chuck vs. the Kept Man,” John Casey (Adam Baldwin) rekindles the fire with Gertrude Verbanski (Carrie-Anne Moss) who also becomes the first client of Carmichael Industries ever since their C.A.R.E. Mission Statement released. Let it be noted that Moss and Baldwin’s chemistry is off the charts! Chuck (Zachary Levi) is so clever and so human!

Chuck ended the year on a high note with last night’s all new episode, “Chuck vs. the Baby.” Last week’s episode ended with quite the cliffhanger and watching this story play out the way it has, certain events definitely pleased viewers more than it did worry them. While the best episode of this season has already been claimed, this week’s episode was just as engaging and provided just as thrilling of a punch as expected.
Tim DeKay (White Collar) guest starred as a CIA handler who helped Sarah on a mission in which Sarah had to kidnap a baby for what turned out to be a dirty job. Five years later, that mission has come back into her life and brought not one but two lovely faces to smile about. It was teased back in September that Sarah Walker's mom would be introduced in the final season of Chuck. Over three months later, Momma W finally showed up, played by the wonderful Cheryl Ladd in "Chuck Versus the Baby," and helped produce what was one of the most emotionally rewarding episodes of the series.
Although she came to Chuck Bartowski, as well as the audience, with a hard candy shell, it didn't take long for both parties to figure out that Sarah Walker had a softer side. While Sarah's father wasn't all bad all the time, it was obvious that Jack Burton was not responsible for the giant heart Sarah has proven to have over the past four years.

“Chuck vs. the Santa Suit” is without a doubt the most intense episode of season five and there are still a month’s worth of episodes left to air of the series. This also makes for the best Christmas episode of the series. There were lows and highs which included the most breathtaking game changer of the series at the very end of the episode. “Chuck vs. the Santa Suit” gave us action, tension, laughs, heart, and so much more. What an impressive hour.
“Stan Lee’s a spy? That is so weird!” – Chuck
The episode started off with such a downer of an opening this week. So dark. It’s been awhile since Chuck has touched such waters. The return of Shaw (guest star, Brandon Routh) came sooner rather than later and really anchored the episode. Thanks to the teasers at the end of last week's "Chuck," we already know about the bad guy this week. (If you've avoided them, however, you should probably skip the next paragraph.)
We're not sure how we feel about Brandon Routh's return as Shaw -- or rather, how we feel about knowing about it in advance. We know we're in the minority in not having minded the character the first time around, but his comeback is a reveal we would've preferred not to see ahead of time.
Anyway, the confrontation isn't the only thing happening in "Chuck vs. the Santa Suit," as you can see in the two clips below. Chuck (Zachary Levi) is accompanying Gen. Beckman (Bonita Fredericy) to a CIA Christmas party, presumably in an attempt to find out who's been pulling the agency strings, and he finds out that none other than comic-book legend Stan Lee...

What a fantastic episode of Chuck this week! This is without a doubt one of the most thrilling episodes of the season so far. A night of cat and mouse, mistaken identity, and reunions made for one heart racing night of television. Dilemmas, dilemmas! There were also some new and familiar faces this week which was quite a treat and put the cherry on top of the comedy, tension, and action in “Chuck vs. the Curse.” “Babe, what if we’re on a real spy mission?” – Awesome “Martini!” – Ellie and Awesome It was wonderful to see General Beckman (Bonita Friedericy) again after her absence in quite a few episodes, warning Chuck (Zachary Levi) and Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski) of all things about the CIA hunting them. Beckman and John Casey’s (Adam Baldwin) help along the way was minimal and it would not have been more perfect any other way. Chuck...

Grab your favorite bottle of Chardonnay, because it's time for our Chuck round table to gather round to discuss "Chuck Versus the Hack Off."
With our favorite spy dramedy on hiatus, there was plenty for us to discuss with its return this past weekend. Like our favorite Indian Buy More employees. Anyways, let's do this!
Favorite Chuck quote or scene from the episode?
Dan F: "Imagine David Beckham! Lester's a shorter, feminine version of his wife."
Dr. T: "Look at my face, you can't tell I'm from Montreal? Like all true Hinjews?"
Kris. H: I loved the reveal with Danny Pudi And Yvette Brown. Everyone knew Danny Pudi was coming, and boy did he land all his lines. But Yvette too? That must have been a fun day on set. You know, before the tears started falling during the finale tapings *sob*

Chuck 5.05 "Chuck Vs. The Hack-Off" Review
Chuck season 5 hacks out its fifth entry with this week’s "Chuck Vs. The Hack-Off" as Chuck and Sarah go undercover (by literally uncovering) to retrieve the key to a deadly computer virus from a private commune as Casey and Lester fend for themselves from inside prison walls.
Continuing its roll and likely one of the stronger, funnier outings of Chuck season 5, "Chuck Vs. The Hack-Off" scrapes by with only a few minor quibbles.
After a certain period of loyalty to a TV show, particularly one that’s been through as much heartbreak and confusion as the five seasons of Chuck, we all come to terms with certain facts. Chuck actually left us in quite a narrative pickle by the end of “Chuck Vs. The Business Trip,” with both Casey and Lester behind bars, though we know that the truncated last season wouldn’t...

In "Chuck Versus the Hack Off" two characters felt like they were getting sucked back into something they had tried desperately to get away from in the first place. Chuckles didn't like getting back into the business of working for manipulative CIA head honchos, and Radzinsky* was deathly afraid of getting back into the evil tech device game.
* The character played by Eric Lange was not important enough to be referred to by anything but Radzinsky...the actor's character on Lost.
Thankfully, it looks like neither character will have to deal with such issues ever again. Radzinsky will likely head back to his naked yoga cult in the woods, while Chuck will never have to take another order from the likes of Decker... unless technology advances to the point that a man can get blown back together by a reverse bomb.

Back in September, Chuck invited journalists to visit the show's set during the filming of "Chuck vs. the Hack Off." That episode airs this Friday (December 9) and finds the spies divided -- John Casey (along with Lester) is in prison, while Chuck and Sarah need to infiltrate a new-age commune in order to complete their own mission.
While on the set, we had the chance to talk to Yvonne Strahovski (Sarah) about what exactly was going on in "Chuck vs. the Hack Off."...

Zachary Levi directed Friday's (Dec. 9) episode of "Chuck," marking his third time behind the camera on the series. And for at least part of the episode, he did both his directing and acting jobs without any pants on.
The episode, "Chuck vs. the Hack-Off," has Chuck (Levi) and Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski) infiltrating a cult in search of the creator of a nasty computer virus (guest star Eric Lange of "Lost"). Upon arrival, they discover that the commune's members aren't that into wearing clothes -- and when they do, their taste runs to very short tunics.
"It's very hippie-dippy on the set of 'Chuck' -- everyone's free-flowing," Strahovski said with a smile as Zap2it observed filming of the episode in September. "Zac's little dress is particularly short. We hope he's wearing underwear." (He was.)
The episode will also bring Gertrude Verbanski (Carrie-Anne Moss) back into the picture. She's...

There's going to be a lot of stuff happening in this week's episode of Chuck, "Chuck vs. the Hack Off." How could there not be? After all, when last we saw our favorite Burbank-based spies, both John Casey and Lester were getting carted off to jail. But what else can we expect from the episode? Everything is getting shaken up on Chuck. Both John Casey and Lester are in prison (for murder and attempted murder, respectively), the Intersect is Mia and the Buy More has a new employee -- Community's Danny Pudi. Add in a trip to a nudity-loving cult, and "Chuck vs. the Hack Off" should be an impressive episode. It airs on Friday, December 9 at 8pm on NBC.

It was a slow build, but "Chuck Versus the Business Trip" ended with such an action packed final five minutes that the mundane nature of the journey was completely absolved.
There were a couple of highlights here and there, but the switch really wasn't flipped until the team realized they had caught the wrong Viper. After Chuck figured out that things had been much too easy*, we watched Morgan frantically escape the Buy More, Chuck disable the car bomb, and Sarah take out the real Viper.
*I put down in my notes at the time that it was a bit odd that this guy with such a ridiculous track record couldn't even take out an intersect-less Chuck Bartowski.
Things went up another notch, though, in the final five minutes or so, beginning with John Casey's murder of 27 individuals in a span of 3.4 seconds. I was definitely expecting him to get caught in that situation,...

Chuck Interview: Mekenna Melvin Promises 'Crazy Twists' For Final Season
Last week's Chuck episode "Chuck Vs. The Frosted Tips" re-introduced Mekenna Melvin into the mix as Alex McHugh, daughter to John Casey (Adam Baldwin) and love interest to Morgan Grimes (Joshua Gomez), who found herself coldly dumped via text message from an Intersect-affected and unfeeling Morgan. We recently had a chance to speak to the Chuck star on what's to come for Alex in Chuck's *supposedly* final season, and just how she'll ever get over that brutal "Dmpd'd" text message" Will Alex sign up with Carmichael Industries looking to exact vengeance on her man, or re-learn to love the bearded bandit? And what of her father's new love interest, Gertrude Verbanski (Carrie-Anne Moss)?

Carrie-Anne Moss wasn't all that familiar with "Chuck" when the show approached her about a guest arc this season.

The final season of Chuck began just as it should, with Morgan, the new intersect, saving Chuck, Sarah, and John Casey on a mission… a mission under Carmichael Industries. The gang has gone freelance, which is making for one incredibly entertaining hour of comedy and is sure to make the final season a season worth tuning in to. It seems running their own spy organization isn’t as easy as they may have thought, no matter who the intersect is. Freelance and Morgan as the intersect are exciting journeys to take, especially since Joshua Gomez is not mimicking Levi as Chuck with the intersect. But it would be interesting to see Awesome with the intersect as well or even Chuck again, who seems so naked without it. Intersect or not though, Awesome and Ellie must assist in a mission before this season is over. And only time will tell just...

Chuck Review, Season 5, Episode 1, “Chuck Versus the Zoom”
Written by Chris Fedak and Nicholas Wootton
Directed by Robert Duncan McNeill
Airs Fridays at 8pm (Et) on NBC
Chuck’s season premieres sometimes feel rushed because they’re dealing with cliffhangers from the previous year while beginning a new story. For the fifth season opener, the changes are huge and could raise questions about whether the show can still work. Within a few minutes, it’s clear that the fun remains, despite any cosmetic changes. Luke Skywalker himself (Mark Hamill) appears as a silly gangster with a ridiculous accent for the opening scene. He’s nearly unrecognizable at first glance, but he still has the glint in his eye of the young farm boy from Tatooine. His appearance is far too brief, but having Luke onboard tells us that everything’s going to be okay for this light-hearted series.

"Chuck" launches its fifth and likely last season on Friday, Oct. 28, on NBC -- right across from the final game of the World Series, airing on Fox.
On Thursday night, series creator Josh Schwartz tweeted, "The plan is still to premiere Chuck Season 5 tomorrow night. yes, versus Game 7. No, we wouldn't have it any other way."
As Schwartz intimated, this is nothing new for hard-luck "Chuck," a lighthearted espionage comedy-drama that has endured more than one nail-biter on its rocky path to a 13-episode fifth season.
Things are different for the last go-round. Super-spy Chuck Bartowski (Zachary Levi) is finally wed to his dream girl and spy partner, Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski). With a new fortune in their possession, they and fellow spy John Casey (Adam Baldwin), have won their independence from the CIA and gone freelance.

When we talked with "Chuck" co-creator Chris Fedak in August, just as the show's fifth and final season was beginning production, he teased us with the idea that "we kind of know our ending."
That ending is now on the horizon -- in fact, he says, pieces of the final episode are on the board in the "Chuck" writers room. And he says that end is pretty much the one he had in mind over the summer.
"We do know the end point, absolutely," Fedak tells Zap2it in advance of "Chuck's" final season premiere on Friday (Oct. 28). "We're actually working on that episode right now. ... It's really exciting -- we have a great end point. It's going to be super-dramatic and emotional. It's even emotional working on it. ...

The return of 'Chuck' (8Pm Friday, NBC) is something to celebrate, but this fall's Nerd Herd party has a bittersweet quality, given that this is the last season of the show.
When season 5 ends, we'll have to say goodbye to the Intersect, say sayonara to Jeffster and swear off John Casey's grunts forever. We'll get no more celebratory Comic-Con love-ins in which the cast and producers tease fans with intel on the next round of espionage antics. No more Castle, no more secret missions, no more touching nerd romances and bromances.
Wait, wait, don't leave! I didn't mean to bring you down. But facts must be faced. Now that we've done the hard part, let's get to the good stuff: In honor of 'Chuck's' Friday return, let's celebrate the things that are most enjoyable about the show's new season.

Chuck Season 5 Finale Bad Reveal!
Braveheart actor Angus Macfadyen is coming to Chuck on NBC! He won’t just guest star, he’ll play a really big bad baddie.
Yes, a multi-episode arc is in Macfadyen’s future as he clashes with the stars of Chuck multi-episode as what TV Line is calling “the show’s last major villain.” Say it ain’t so! Season 5 is the last ever?
Macfadyen is playing a spy for hire who just prefers to do bad spying as opposed to good spying. Don’t you just hate guys like that?
Macfadyen is best remembered as Robert the Bruce, but he also acted in Jason and the Argonauts from 2000, the very cool Equilibrium from 2002, Saw IV from 2007, and several episodes of Californication among other TV appearances.

Chuck star Zachary Levi is stepping behind the camera once again as he will be directing an episode of the fifth and final season of the spy show. We also have details of Yvonne Strahovski's (Sarah) Maxim cover shoot for the October issue that is sure to get some attention for Chuck's final push.
This is not Levi's first time pulling double duty on the NBC show as he has directed two episodes in the past; "Chuck vs the Beard" (season 3, episode 9) and "Chuck vs the Leftovers" (season 4, episode 10). An NBC spokesperson confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that Levi will be directing the fifth episode of season 5 and whilst the episode details are light, we do know a couple of very exciting things.
Firstly it will be one of the episodes where spy rival and possible John Casey (Adam Baldwin) love interest Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix) will appear as Gertrude Verbanski.

This year sees the broadcast of the fifth and final season of the long-running and fan-favourite geek TV show Chuck. And whilst in the past the series has seen its fair share of superb guest stars – Scott Bakula, Linda Hamilton and Timothy Dalton to name a few – this year looks to be going out with a bang with two guest stars from two of the biggest movies franchises in geekdom!
Yes, season five of Chuck will see Luke Skywalker himself, aka Mark Hamill playing the villain in the final season and not only that, but series tough-guy John Casey will be getting a love interest in the character of Gertrude – a ruthless spy with a bit of a soft spot Casey, who will be played by none other than Carrie Anne Moss, also known as Trinity in The Matrix and its sequels…

So, against all odds Chuck is gearing up for it's fifth and final season - and it's looking like the creators are keeping to their high standards when it comes to casting.
After the recent announcement that Mark Hamill would be playing the villain in the final season of Chuck, today the news has broken that tough guy John Casey will be getting a love interest, Gertrude. Gertrude is a ruthless spy with a bit of a soft spot for the big guy, and will be played by Carrie Anne Moss.
Chuck has previously featured stars like Scott Bakula (Quantum Leap, Enterprise) Linda Hamilton (Terminator) Brandon Routh (Superman Returns) and former Bond Timothy Dalton - so Hamill (Star Wars) and Moss (The Matrix) are in good company.
This season marks all change for our favourite nerd herder as he takes the reigns at Carmichael Industries - with Morgan Grimes as his new intersect.

At an NBC party at TCA press tour on Monday, I ran into 'Chuck' executive producer Chris Fedak, who talked about a couple of big things that'll be happening in the NBC spy show's final season.
There's the casting of 'Matrix' star Carrie-Anne Moss in a multi-episode arc as Gertrude Verbanski, the head of a private espionage agency that competes with Chuck's new firm. A woman as tough, competitive and weapons-obsessed as Gertrude naturally appeals to John Casey.
"What we wanted to do this season is really kind of open up [Casey] to a new romantic relationship, and we thought we needed someone as badass as him," Fedak said. "Carrie-Anne seemed like the perfect fit."

Chuck’s intersect will be crashing head to head with The Matrix for its final farewell season. The NBC spy show is adding former Matrix star, Carrie-Anne Moss, to its line-up. So, who is Moss going to be portraying when she hits the small screen for Chuck’s final season? NBC has decided to throw her into the mix as Gertrude Verbanski, “a former spy who now runs Verbanski Corp, a rival of Chuck’s new spy company. She’s ruthless and deadly, yet she also has a weak spot for John Casey — her old rival.”
We were told at Sdcc this year that John Casey will be getting a love interest for this final season so it will be interesting to see the chemistry between Moss and Baldwin as we are sure it will be lots of fun. Moss joins Mark Hamill, who has also joined the last season...

The last season of Chuck has started filming and Comic Con gave some hints as to what we can expect from season 5 (for Clarissa's full report head here). TVLine has just announced some more big casting news that will have major consequences for John Casey (Adam Baldwin). Matrix star Carrie-Anne Moss will be guest starring in a multi-episode arc as both a rival and a love interest for Casey. Warning spoilers ahead.
Moss will be playing Gertrude Verbanski, a former spy who also runs a private firm 'Verbanski Corp'. This company happens to be the biggest competitor to Chuck (Zachary Levi) and Sarah's (Yvonne Strahovski) new business venture. Along with this business rivalry Verbanski has a history with Casey and even though she is both "ruthless and deadly" her weak spot might be with a certain former Nsa agent. "Chuck" has cast a love interest for Adam Baldwin's character, and she should be more than up to the task of keeping pace with John Casey.
