“Carrie, I’m not familiar with your work prior to ‘Fargo,'” Damon Lindelof said to Carrie Coon. “I’ve heard you’re an excellent actress.”
This, obviously, is a boldfaced lie. Back in 2014, Lindelof was one of the first people in Hollywood to notice Coon’s immense talent when he cast her in HBO’s drama, “The Leftovers.” But he wasn’t about to say as much while moderating a For Your Consideration panel for her other show, FX’s anthology series, “Fargo.”
And neither was “Fargo” creator Noah Hawley.
“When I first saw Carrie — in a movie,” Hawley said, pointedly, before adding, “Maybe another show…” The showrunner trailed off, allowing the audience to fill in the blank.

The book was raw & dirty, and did you read what that girl did with that guy on page 167? Racking up a stack of Oscar nominations, Peyton Place became one of the big hits of its year, launched the careers of several young actors, and proved that Hollywood could pasteurize most any so-called un-filmable book. Lana Turner is the nominal star but the leading actress is Diane Varsi, in her film debut.

Before we dive in to this week’s revoltin’ reviews, I’d like to call attention to a fright flick exploding (quite literally) onto yer TV screens from those diabolical dudes atNecrostorm titled The Mildew From Planet Xonader! Now I worked on this flick, and I am damn proud of the outcome, so I really want to give ya taste of what the whole shebang is all about!
Some of you more astute creeps may remember I’ve talked about this film here before, but now I’ve had the chance to lay my putrid peepers on it, and I can assure you it’s an ultra-gory good time (and not just because my alter-ego provides some vicious voices for the goings-on).
The story goes a lil’ somethin’ like this: deep within the bowels of a top-secret research facility, scientists have been conducting experiments with a rapid-spread mildew capable of...

We Can Never Go Home #5
Written by Matthew Rosenberg and Patrick Kindlon
Art by Josh Hood and Brian Level
Colors by Tyler Boss
Letters by David C. Hopkins
Published by Black Mask
The first arc of We Can Never Go Home ends in gruesome violence, explosions, and our runaway protagonists, Duncan and Madison, making a lot of stupid, some foolhardy, and a few clever choices in their neverending quest to find freedom. Most of the issue takes place in the compound of Mr. Carroll, who is collecting teenage superhumans like some kind of twisted Professor X with a creepy beard. The tests that makes Madison go through are designed to disrupt her friendship with Duncan, which was already pushed to the breaking point in the previous issue when he was about to have sex with the shapeshifter Casey, who he thought was Maddie. Writers Matthew Rosenberg and Patrick Kindlon follow...
