Enter the fast and turbulent world of underground crime in the new trailer from the Netflix original series The Gentlemen. The new show is inspired by Guy Ritchie‘s film of the same name. The trailer sees an unsuspecting chap get in over his head as he unintentionally becomes involved with his family’s drug dealings. This new peek at the series showcases the signature aggressive manic style of Guy Ritchie’s gangster films. Ritchie himself is wearing multiple hats behind the scenes as the creator, writer, and executive producer. He has also directed the first two episodes of the series. The show was also previously known to premiere sometime next month, but we now have a release date as Netflix announced the premiere will be on March 7.
The official logline from Netflix reads,
“The Gentlemen sees Eddie Horniman (Theo James) unexpectedly inherit his father’s sizable country estate – only...

“The Fear Index,” starring Josh Hartnett, and the third season of iconic Israeli series “False Flag” will both screen at the Berlinale Series Market Selects, whose lineup was unveiled Tuesday.

Based on the Robert Harris novel of the same title, its international sales will be handled by NBCUniversal Global Distribution.

“Penny Dreadful” actor Josh Hartnett will star in Sky original thriller series “The Fear Index,” based on the bestselling novel by Robert Harris (“Fatherland”).
Hartnett will star as Dr Alex Hoffman, a computer scientist and genius who is ready with a new AI product launch that promises big returns, but whose roll-out plans go awry. What follows is a journey through the worst 24 hours of his life — cutting across reality, memory and paranoid fantasy, forcing him to question everything he sees with his own eyes.
Adapted by Paul Andrew Williams and Caroline Bartleet, and directed by David Caffrey (“The Alienist”), the fast-paced four-part limited series also has Leila Farzad (“I Hate Suzie”), Arsher Ali (“The Ritual”) and Grégory Montel (“Call My Agent”) in the cast.
Produced by Left Bank Pictures in association with Sky Studios, “The Fear Index” will begin filming this month in Hungary, with Pioneer Pictures providing local production services.

Made by “Marcella” producer Buccaneer Media as an original for AMC’s BritBox rival Acorn TV, “Whitstable Pearl” has all the ingredients of a travel-friendly crime series with a female lead in a picturesque English town.
And while the six part, 45-minute series slots in neatly with the streamer’s other small town crime canon, including Cotswold’s based “Agatha Raisin” and “Queens of Mystery,” Buccaneer execs Tony Wood and Anna Burns were keen to give the seaside town of Whitstable a Scandinavian edge.
Enter Norwegian filmmaker Øystein Karlsen, whose writing/directing credits include hit dark comedy dramas “Dag,” “Exit” and “Lilyhammer,” who was duly drafted in to adapt Julie Wassmer’s series of seaside mystery novels.
Karlsen’s vision for the show, based on Wassmer’s stories, he says, was “a whodunit served on a bed of warm interpersonal drama sprinkled with black humor.”

Peaky Blinders series four was… monumental. Right from this show’s first ever episode when Tommy Shelby rode into town and had a magic spell cast on his racehorse, it’s always felt mythic, but this was something else. Series four was ambitious, accomplished and swaggeringly confident, with a hand of tricks—Polly’s fake betrayal, Arthur’s ‘death’—played to maximum effect. Surprises and action rushed around the feet of now-towering characters, and as always, the main plot was echoed in a layer of symbolism.
The boxing match pitting big against small, for instance, acted as a dumbshow for Tommy’s plan, a version in miniature. To the baying crowd,...

Tommy Shelby is a rare kind of person. Whatever mess in which he finds himself—whether it’s accidentally stealing a crate of Lewis machine guns or being coerced into doing business with Russian aristocrats—he’s able to turn it to his advantage. Trust him to cast his eye over the incipient threat of socialist revolution and end up not with his back against the wall but with a two-million-pound supply contract to the British army. War is a profitable business, and one from which Tommy, having already paid its dreadful price in France, now means to profit.
