Almost a year after Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday sent the infamous Mr. Voorhees into the not-so-sweet hereafter, the third book in Berkley’s Camp Crystal Lake series was published. At the time, it wasn’t clear when Jason would be back on the big screen, but his story continued in random books (not novelizations) and comics until the kinks in a long-delayed crossover movie — eventually Freddy vs. Jason — could be worked out. However, the problem fans had with Goes to Hell could also be an issue with Eric Morse’s quadrilogy.
In The Carnival, Morse (real name William Pattison) delivers another tale about Jason Voorhees’ legacy. This 1994 young-adult novel centers around the sketchy, traveling carnival set up near Crystal Lake. Rather than this being another take on the “evil carnies” idea, though, the carnival itself becomes plagued by otherworldly forces grown in Jason’s absence. These self-contained...

If you’re tired of wearing the same coveralls in Friday The 13th: The Game, Gun Media has got your back. In a new update that’s coming down the pipeline, the developer will be introducing an alternate set of coveralls for the recently added playable antagonist Roy Burns.
Roy is a slightly controversial figure in the Friday The 13th mythos, mainly because he’s one of the only copycat killers of iconic slasher, Jason Voorhees. In Part V, Roy was a psycho paramedic and an estranged father on the hunt for vengeance after the violent murder of his mentally challenged son. Though he’s not the most beloved character in the series, some still see him as an intriguing cult figure.
Interestingly, there’s been much debate amongst vocal fans as to whether the colour of Roy’s coveralls in Part V are green or blue. However, the game...

It’s… showtime!
Fancy taking a trip back to Pinehurst Youth Development Center? Yep, that really creepy place from Friday The 13th: A New Beginning. Well, luckily for you, Illfonic’s Friday The 13th: The Game has got you covered.
A free update for the survival horror title is rolling out next Tuesday and will be adding the iconic new map, along with the infamous killer Roy Burns. Both should be familiar to fans, as the pair are lifted straight out of the fifth movie from the influential slasher series.
The map will be based on the aforementioned eerie rehabilitation center, where one of the series’ protagonists – Tommy Jarvis – is committed after taking down the infamous hockey mask-wearing, machete-toting maniac. It’s also the final resting place for a handful of victims who unluckily bit the dust in the flick.

In addition to their Nes-inspired line of toys, Neca also premiered a retro line last year, which saw the release of highly articulated action figures made in the classic style of legendary toy company Mego. Freddy and Jason kicked off the line with a bang, and last month the company announced that Ash Williams would be joining them, later this year. Who's next? Well, we need look no further than Toy Fair to find out.
The 2014 Toy Fair began yesterday in New York City, and Neca unveiled several new additions to their retro line, including Iron Maiden's mascot Eddie, Deadite Ash from Evil Dead 2 and 'sack-head' Jason, from Friday the 13th: Part 2. Perhaps most exciting, however, is the first ever action figure of Part 5's Roy Burns, aka imposter Jason, which has been one of the most anticipated horror toys over the years. Jason Takes Manhattan is now...

In the world of custom toys, absolutely anything is possible. Whereas companies like Neca don't have much choice but to appeal to the masses, and thus they typically stick to iconic characters like Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees (not that there's anything wrong with that!), the sky's the limit for toy customizers, who have to appeal to one person and one person only; themselves.
Every field and line of work has a person in it that does it better than anyone else, and in the world of custom toys, there is only one; Montwain Gonzales, who does his thing under the banner of One's Customs.
Rather than simply painting over existing figures, Gonzales meticulously creates small-scale versions of his favorite horror icons, sculpting heads and even stitching together clothing. His creations range from the characters who have been immortalized as action figures many times over the years to ones that...
