The screenwriter, painter and director Gerhard T. Buchholz first studied art at the Kunstakademie in Königsberg and after a successful exam he began his artistic career as a stage designer at the theater Königsberg.
He dedicated to the writing in the 30s and from 1937 he also wrote screenplays for movies.
He also produced few movies and he directed the movies "Amico" (1949) and "Postlagernd Turteltaube" (1952).
After the war he tried twice as a director and as a producer with his Cologne-based Occident Film Production GmbH. He repeatedly addressed problems in divided Germany.
