Michael Douglas played Hank Pym, the original Ant-Man, in the MCU. Douglas has appeared in all three Ant-Man films, starting with the first one in 2015. However, he was not entirely happy working in the latest film in the trilogy since the filmmakers failed to implement his one wish for his character. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania was a disaster at the box office and it is highly doubtful whether Douglas would appear in another MCU film.
Michael Douglas as Hank Pym in Ant-Man
Douglas’ Hank Pym is a former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, entomologist, and physicist. He was a friend and colleague of John Slattery’s Howard Stark and Hayley Atwell’s Peggy Carter. Interestingly, Douglas chose the Ant-Man role after a few failed projects.

Michael Douglas had a request for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania: He wanted his character to die.
The Oscar-winning actor stopped by The View on Thursday to promote his new Apple TV+ series, Franklin. During the conversation, he was asked about his comments to The Hollywood Reporter about wanting his character in the Ant-Man franchise, Hank Pym, to be killed off in the third film.
“This actually was my request for the third one,” Douglas explained of his desire for his character to die. “I said I’d like to have a serious [death], with all these great special effects. There’s got to be some fantastic way where I can shrink to an ant size and explode, whatever it is.
He continued, “I want to use all those effects. But, that was on the last one. Now, I don’t think I’m going to show up.”

Exclusive: After making all five episodes available on Tuesday, Marvel Studios’ Echo has premiered at No. 1 on both the Disney+ and Hulu platforms. The series marked several firsts for a Marvel show: the first TV-ma series developed at the studio, the first time every episode was available to subscribers at once and the first time a whole Marvel series has been available on both platforms at the same time.
It’s also the first show under the Marvel Spotlight banner, which the studio describes as a platform to bring more grounded, character-driven stories to the screen, focusing on street-level stakes over larger MCU continuity. While the studio hasn’t put out numbers, Echo is doing better than some of the consistently top-performing titles.

Marvel has been extending its branches in the Ott platform with several web series, and after Loki Season 2, the viewers’ expectations have increased.
For the unversed, Maya Lopez, the Marvel character, was created by David Mack and Joe Quesada; in the comic books, she first appeared in Daredevil #9. Marvel Studios’ Echo isn’t your normal Disney+ series. No, this series has some bite and doesn’t skimp on gritty, violent action scenes. At least, that’s the vibe laid down in the first official trailer for the comic-book-inspired series starring Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez.
Cox was introduced in the role in 2021’s Hawkeye limited series starring Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld. Vincent D’Onofrio reprises his role as Wilson Fisk / Kingpin from Daredevil and Hawkeye in Echo, with the trailer confirming the series will trace his relationship with Maya.
The cast also includes Chaske Spencer (The English), Graham Greene (1883), Tantoo Cardinal (Killers of the Flower Moon), Devery Jacobs (Reservation Dogs), Zahn McClarnon (Dark Winds), and Cody Lightning.

Marvel dared to do TV differently. Now, it will have to redo “Daredevil: Born Again” from the ground up.
Head writers Chris Ord and Matt Corman were removed from “Daredevil: Born Again” in late September, IndieWire confirmed, as were all of the directors previously booked to shoot the remainder of Season 1. About half of the 18-episode season is in the can, with some episodes fully shot. Ord and Corman will maintain executive producer credits; THR first reported the news of their dismissal.
Daredevil is the superhero alter ego of blind lawyer Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox); Ord and Corman envisioned the series as a legal procedural. Cox returns to the role he played on Netflix from 2015 to 2018 (the series has been on Disney+ since March 2022), but he didn’t even don the costume until the new show’s fourth episode. Now that’s dedication to a reimagining.

Hollywood success stories often have a lot of overlap, but not in the case of Loki executive producer Kevin R. Wright.
The Philadelphia native postponed his film school dreams to enlist in the Marine Corps just a few months before 9/11, and he ended up serving as a combat correspondent for four years. From there, he enrolled at Philadelphia’s University of the Arts and majored in writing for film and television. Upon graduating as valedictorian, Wright moved to Los Angeles and paid his dues as an intern for a few years. He nearly gave up his pursuit until a chance meeting with Marvel Studios presented itself.
Wright then joined the Marvel ranks as a development assistant before working as the production and development manager on Doctor Strange (2016). That led to an associate producer position on Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018), which put him on a path towards becoming a full-fledged producer.

With Loki (Tom Hiddleston) being pulled around time itself in the worst way imaginable thanks to the Tva, which was introduced to the MCU via Disney+’s Loki series, it’s now up to both him and Agent Mobius (Owen Wilson) to restore order.
Loki Season 2 | Official Teaser
Marvel has released a new teaser clip for Loki Season 2. The “Hands of Time” teaser shows Tom Hiddleston’s fan-favorite figure struggling against larger stakes. The teaser, presented as a ticking clock, depicts Loki in a series of attempts to save the multiverse from a total collapse.
The 30-second clip begins with Loki stating, “This will sound odd. I’ve been pulled across time.” He teams up with Mobius and other Time Variance Authority (Tva) agents in his search for redemption. As he empathizes, “We’re in a race against time.”

“We introduce this whole new corner to the MCU and these new characters,” confirms executive producer Kevin R. Wright. And speaking of new characters, Oscar-winner Ke Huy Quan (Everything Everywhere All at Once) says he’s been a fan of the MCU for a long time. “I’m so grateful to be a part of this amazing series,” says Huy Quan.

“Loki” Season 2 is following in the footsteps of the “Star Wars” Disney+ series “Ahsoka,” setting a much more reasonable release time for new episodes on the streaming service. In contrast to the midnight drops of past Disney+ original series — including the major Marvel shows — new episodes of “Loki” Season 2 will be released at 6 p.m. Pt, the same time new episodes of “Ahsoka” hit the streamer.
The second season of “Loki” debuts on Oct. 5 and finds Tom Hiddleston, Sophia Di Martino, Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Wunmi Mosaku reprising their characters alongside newcomer Ke Huy Quan (fresh off his Oscar win). The God of Mischief has returned. Only this time, he has the mischief thrust upon him. And he returns and returns and returns again, as Loki gets pulled through time at random intervals beyond his control. Marvel Studios has been exploring the more cosmic parts and psychedelic concepts of their universe after concluding the Infinity Saga with Phases 4 and 5. Loki season 2 continues the theme of multiverse jumping, and Kang the Conqueror, or He Who Remains, looks to be pulling the strings. Disney+ has just released the new trailer for the follow-up to its successful first-season. The show is set to stream later this fall.
According to Deadline, season 2 of Loki will be picking up “in the aftermath of the shocking season finale when Loki finds himself in a battle for the soul of the Time Variance Authority. Along with Mobius, Hunter B-15 and a team of new and returning characters,...

While Disney+ may be delaying a majority of its fall Marvel series release schedule, season 2 of "Loki" is returning with a vengeance. The Marvel TV series stars Tom Hiddleston, Owen Wilson, Sophia Di Martino, and Ke Huy Quan, among others, and the release of the first trailer alone was breaking records for the Disney-owned streamer. People can't get enough of Hiddleston's Loki, and it seems as if Disney+ has enough faith in the show's fanbase to return without the assistance of a celebrity-filled promotional press tour (that cannot happen under the SAG-AFTRA strike guidelines). But the trickster God and the Time Variance Authority (Tva) are back, ready to face off against the variants of He Who Remains (Jonathan Majors). But then again, are Mobius and pals the same characters we know and love, or are we seeing new variants with wildly different personalities?

Disney+’s Loki season two trailer shows the God of Mischief is uncontrollably slipping through time. Oscar winner Ke Huy Quan’s O.B. (Everything Everywhere All at Once) is called on to help, but he can’t because what Loki’s doing is 100% impossible in the Tva…and yet it’s happening.
The trailer also shows that war is on its way, and the timeline is running out of time.

Turns out, when you destroy the man keeping watch over several timelines, things start collapsing pretty quick. And that’s exactly what Tom Hiddleston’s Loki appears to be finding out in Season 2 of his eponymous Disney+ series.
The first “Loki” Season 2 trailer has arrived and the most pressing issue may not necessarily be Kang the Conqueror, but Loki himself. He’s experiencing something called “time slipping,” in which he gets “pulled through time, between the past and the present.”
The issue is, time slipping isn’t supposed to be possible at the Tva — at least according to Ke Huy Quan’s character. The Oscar-winning “Everything Everywhere All At Once” star takes on the character of Ob in the series, someone that Loki and Mobius (Owen Wilson) go to for help. Unfortunately, he’s just as baffled as they are.
You can watch the full trailer for “Loki” Season 2 in the video above.

If you’ve watched Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, you might notice that the cast of the film is somewhat different from that of the first two Ant-Man movies. The main quartet of characters—Scott Lang/Ant-Man (Paul Rudd), Hope van Dyne/Wasp (Evangeline Lilly), Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), and Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer)—remains the same, and Scott’s daughter Cassie is also back, now played by Kathryn Newton.
Quantumania also introduces a slew of new characters, such as big bad Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors) and the inhabitants of the Quantum Realm. But missing this time are the members of Scott Lang’s X-Con Security crew of thieves-turned-security-experts, including Kurt (David Dastmalchian), Dave (Tip “T.I.” Harris) and, most significantly, Luis (Michael Peña).
Dastmalchian actually has another role in Quantumania, as the voice of the gooey red creature Veb, while Harris has been embroiled in allegations...

Don’t hold your hopes for the return of Tony Stark.

Downey’s last real appearance in the franchise came in 2019’s “Avengers: Endgame”, in which his character, Iron Man, died.

If you look at, like, Cassie [Lang in ‘Quantumania’] getting a suit and Kate Bishop [in ‘Hawkeye’], new characters being introduced like Jack in ‘Werewolf by Night’.”
He continues, “After these first 10 years of Marvel storytelling, torches are being passed, like with Robert Downey Jr. no longer being [on the] table and stuff like that.

Now that the Marvel Cinematic Universe has evolved into an even bolder world, with Phase 5 getting jumpstarted with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, it is evident that Kevin Feige is set on exploring aspects of the property beyond anyone’s imagination. After films like Spider-Man: No Way Home and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness introduced unconventional ways for certain actors to return, one could assume there would still be possibilities of re-appearances from old friends. Unfortunately, a chance of saying one last goodbye to the man who started it all is not an option according to ComicBookResource.

This article contains spoilers for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
By the end of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Scott Lang/Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) and his superhero family have defeated Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors)—this version of him, anyway—restored freedom to the denizens of the Quantum Realm, and returned home safe and sound. But while Scott has learned that a superhero can never rest on their laurels, and that there are always more battles to be fought, he also expresses unease about the future, a future in which Kang warned him that terrible things are coming.
The end credits scenes certainly indicate, as promised, that we’ll be seeing much more of Kang. And it seems almost a given that Ant-Man will regroup with the Avengers to fight him at some point. But what about further standalone adventures for the world’s tiniest Avenger, his daughter Cassie (Kathryn Newton...

This article contains spoilers for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
“I have so many names…” Yes, that’s Al Pacino speaking as the titular fallen angel in The Devil’s Advocate. But the line may apply just as well to Kang the Conqueror, the new supervillain played by Jonathan Majors in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, who’s poised to menace the Avengers and the MCU from now until at least 2026—when some kind of massive showdown will take place in Avengers: Secret Wars.
Of course regular MCU viewers have already met one version of Kang previously thanks to the last episode of the Disney+ series Loki. There he was billed as He Who Remains. His stated mission on that series? To keep the multiverse (and the multitudes of much more malevolent Kangs in them) contained. It’s also a goal which ended with his death at the hands of Loki variant Sylvie.

Marvel fans love analyzing the franchise’s films and series to come with exciting hypotheses and potential upcoming storylines. But there’s one Avengers fan theory that Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania star Paul Rudd confirms will never happen with Marvel’s latest villain.
An ‘Avengers’ fan theory suggests Ant-Man could have defeated Thanos in an unusual way

In Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, Josh Brolin’s towering villain, Thanos, got hold of the Infinity Stones and used them to disappear half of the universe. Almost every superhero tried to defeat him, but failed. And it wasn’t until they went back to alter time that they finally were finally able to win.

Gotta admit, but Josh Brolin’s big baddie Thanos does cast a big shadow in the older Marvel movies.
But now there’s Jonathan Majors’ Kang the Conqueror, who debuted as the variant He Who Remains in Disney+’s Loki and surges in all testosterone in this weekend’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which is set to debut to a franchise global record of 280M. The catalyst for all that? Why it’s all Kang.
The film’s director Peyton Reed tells us on Crew Call today how the whole Kang of it all came to be.
You can listen to our chat below:
Essentially the progression toward Kang in the MCU and Ant-Man began with the jumping off point of Michelle Pfeiffer’s Janet Van Dyne and what she had been up to in the Quantum realm, that sector introduced in the previous 2018 installment Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Remember when that "Hey, look at us" clip of "Ant-Man" star Paul Rudd went viral, largely thanks to Paul Rudd's infectious and charming "aw shucks" appeal? That perfectly sums up many of the feelings surrounding the fact that Ant-Man -- of all Marvel superheroes -- is about to receive his very own trilogy of movies with the impending release of "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania." And not only that, but all indications are that the threequel is about to shake up the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a big way, mostly through the introduction of Jonathan Majors' Kang the Conqueror. The multiverse-traveling big bad has a lot riding on his big-screen debut, which is something director Peyton Reed and writer Jeff Loveness were well aware of throughout production on the film.

When “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” director Peyton Reed started thinking about what a third “Ant-Man” film might look like with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige and producer Stephen Broussard, the trio had a few different ideas that seemed of great importance. Mostly, two films into the franchise-within-a-franchise, Reed wanted to do “something really different,” he wanted to treat it as a “trilogy capper” that paid off on elements from the first two movies, he wanted to go to the Quantum Realm, and he wanted to give co-star Michelle Pfeiffer a truly heroic role.
And they needed a really big villain to help bring all that together. “It was like, ‘And I’d love to put Ant-Man and the Wasp, these two sort of unlikely Avengers, up against a really formidable foe in this movie,'” the director said in a recent interview with IndieWire.

Jonathan Majors is aiming high with his portrayal of Kang the Conqueror in "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania." For months now, Marvel Studios has been hyping up Kang as the next big thing, an antagonist who can "rewrite existence and shatter timelines." As the overarching villain of The Multiverse Saga, he's already got a future "Avengers" sequel named after him -- "Avengers: The Kang Dynasty," coming in May 2025 -- and has drawn numerous comparisons to previous big baddie Thanos, though studio president Kevin Feige says he's a "totally different" character.
Majors has spoken in the press about how seeing Heath Ledger's Joker in "The Dark Knight" was part of what inspired him to become an actor. And he's compared joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe to linking up with a Shakespearean acting troupe. He's also listed real-life historical figures like Alexander the Great, Julius Caesar, and Genghis Khan as influences behind Kang.

"Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania" is set to begin Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe next week. This time around, Scott Lang/Ant-Man (Paul Rudd), Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly), Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer), Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton), and Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) are sucked into the quantum realm and have to battle Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors) to find their way home.
We've seen the quantum realm in the MCU before, but we're getting a much better look at the denizens of the world beneath ours and the dangers that come along with the place other than Kang. The film has a very different feel than the first two based around the size-changing superhero. /Film's own Jeremy Mathai recently spoke to "Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania" producer Stephen Broussard about how Marvel balanced the story with the worldbuilding. "Werewolf by Night" really stood out in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It was a single hour based on the comic book character of the same name and was (sort of) a first shot across the bow for the idea of a special rather than a series or a full-length feature film. It was followed by a presentation connected to the main MCU, "The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special."
Of course, Marvel has done something akin to this before in the form of 3- to 15-minute short films called One Shots that align with their features like "All Hail the King" and "Agent Carter" which went with "Iron Man 3" and "The Consultant" that was spawned by "Thor." "Werewolf by Night," however, was more in the style of holiday specials like the animated "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" from 1966 that used to air on television around Halloween.
