As casting announcements for the upcoming and much-anticipated "Veronica Mars" movie have continually trickled in, it seems as if almost every minor character Kristen Bell's titular teen detective came across during her days at Neptune High would be returning for the film's central set piece, Veronica's ten year high school reunion. Except one -- Kelly Kuzzio, played by "Switched at Birth" star Lucas Grabeel.
Grabeel showed up twice in Season 2 of the cult favorite, once credited as the Wanna Score Boy in the episode "Ahoy, Mateys!" but it was his appearance in "Versatile Toppings" as Kelly that fans remember. In that episode (which also featured an appearance from "Laguna Beach" star Kristin Cavallari!), someone was blackmailing the gay students of Neptune High, threatening to out them if they didn't pay up. Kelly was a self-hating, closeted baseball player who sold his rims to pay the blackmail and pretended he'd been mugged.
