Windy Wilkin’s Death on the Border is a thought-provoking movie that forces you to contemplate one of the real dangers and problems of society: child trafficking. It’s common knowledge that scores of young girls and children are trafficked every year. These young girls are forced into prostitution or are sold to high-paying clients. Death on the Border isn’t entirely fictional but draws inspiration from real events. This makes Windy Wilkin’s film all the more haunting, realizing the ordeal all those women and girls had to go through. At the beginning of the film, Maddy (Shannon Elizabeth) is picked up by a child trafficker who is smuggling young girls over the border. The trafficker tried to force himself on Maddy, but she killed him with the gun she was hiding in her boots. Maddy freed the girls and asked one of them to drive until they were safe.

Here at Et, we’re obsessed with a lot of things – and here’s what we’re most excited about this week:
Why We’re Obsessed With ‘Wonderstruck’
Oscar-winning filmmaker Todd Haynes reunites with his Far From Heaven star, Julianne Moore, for a film that appears as wondrous as the title suggests. But after the very adult Carol, Haynes is doing something more family-friendly, about the parallel journeys of a young, deaf girl (Millicent Simmonds) who runs away from home in search of her acting idol (Moore) in 1927 and a boy (Oakes Fegley) who runs away from his Minnesota home in search of his father in 1977.
Wonderstruck is in theaters Friday, Oct. 20.
Why We’re Obsessed With ‘Mindhunter’
With Mindhunter, a new series about two FBI agents researching serial killers in the early days of criminal psychology, David Fincher reimagines the cop thriller for TV. Jonathan Groff and Holt McCallany play the two agents, who use their research...

"I sometimes think, Do people find this interesting?" Todrick Hall shrugs. "Because this is my life every day and, you know, people could do this if they wanted to."
We are standing just backstage at the historic Theatre at Ace Hotel immediately following the Outfest screening of Behind the Curtain: Todrick Hall, a documentary that followed Todrick as he wrote and recorded a full-length visual album, Straight Outta Oz, then turned that album into a stage show and toured nationwide to perform it. From our vantage point behind the velvet curtain, we can watch the attendees -- hundreds of fans, friends and other industry folk -- filing out under the glimmering mirrored ceiling into the Broadway Theater District of Downtown L.A. I've asked Todrick if this all feels as glamorous to him as it seems.
"I thought at one point I would get to a certain place and I would be like, Ok, now I'm...

It's safe to say Kris Jenner and Caitlyn Jenner have not consciously uncoupled.
Although the two were married for 23 years and share two children together -- 21-year-old Kendall and 19-year-old Kylie -- with the upcoming release of Caitlyn's new memoir, The Secrets of My Life, the pair is clearly no longer on good terms.
... And that's putting it mildly.

Let's take a look at how Kris and Caitlyn's once loving relationship has become strained.

Here at Et, we’re obsessed with a lot of things -- and for the week of Jan. 9 to Jan. 15, this is what we’re most excited about:
‘This Is Us’
One of the most anticipated TV shows of the year is the return of This Is Us, which captivated with its unexpected plot twists and tear-jerking storylines in the fall and was nominated for three Golden Globes, for Mandy Moore, Chrissy Metz and Best Drama Series. At the end of the fall finale, we were left with one major cliffhanger: What happened to Toby (Chris Sullivan) after he collapsed in Randall’s (Sterling K. Brown) house? Is he alive or dead? "I think people will be very surprised, maybe a little on edge," Chrissy Metz tells Et.
Not only will the show answer that question early in the premiere, it will also dive deeper in the backstory of Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) and Rebecca (Moore) Pearson. “There...

Bravo cameras should be rolling on this.
It's late afternoon on a recent Friday and I've spent the better part of the day with Stassi Schroeder, but this is the first moment that feels like I'm inside Vanderpump Rules. She's scanning an interview Lisa Vanderpump recently gave in which the reality show's grand dame described her cast members in one word. Stassi's bright-red nails move across the iPhone screen as she zooms in.
"I got 'spoiled'?" she asks aloud, mostly to herself, but possibly to the room.
A boozy happy hour has just been interrupted by shit-talking. But there are no producers. No cameramen slowly zooming in to film her reaction or sound guy holding the boom mic closer in case she lets rip one of her iconic, expletive-filled one-liners. Instead, she laughs slightly uncomfortably and asks, "Spoiled by what...?" She sits in silence for a moment. "Spoiled by what? Fine. Ok. Whatever...

Producer Simon Kinberg has confirmed that Professor X will be a part of filmmaker John Boone's "New Mutants" X-Men spin-off which is currently in the works.
Speaking with Collider during the junket for "X-Men: Apocalypse," Kinberg says: "Right now, as the movie exists, Professor X would be a part of a New Mutants movie."
James McAvoy finishes his contracted appearances as Charles Xavier in 'Apocalypse,' which means if he's to return a new deal will have to be struck. The film itself is expected to follow a younger team of heroes and hopes to begin shooting early next year.
Winberg also revealed that Professor X was originally going to be one of the Four Horsemen in 'Apocalypse' with the original draft of the script constructed around that 'surprise'. That was ultimately changed with Psylocke taking his place.

Hollywood’s longstanding preoccupation with the red planet marches on today, with Variety reporting that Spike TV is bucking tradition to issue a full series order for Kim Stanley Robinson’s Red Mars novel trilogy.
For a channel more associated with sports-related dramas and reality shows, news of Robinson’s sprawling series setting up shop on Spike is somewhat surprising, though by instating genre veteran J. Michael Straczynski (Babylon 5) as screenwriter, there’s no question that the network has issued a fairly resounding vote of confidence today, making Red Mars Spike’s first drama series in close to a decade.
Centering on humanity’s efforts to colonize and terraform our neighbouring planet, Robinson’s highly-regarded trilogy was originally released during the mid-90s – Red Mars (1993), Green Mars (1994) and Blue Mars (1996). It’s been pitched as ‘hard’ sci-fi, doubling down on the realistic dangers and threats that face the first...

There was a time when everyone thought that Ant-Man was destined to be Marvel’s first turkey, derailed by Edgar Wright’s unceremonious exit from the pic and a diminished scale in the wake of Avengers: Age of Ultron. Now, however, the first reaction are seeping out onto the web (along with a few new pics, as seen above), and the general consensus seems to be that, while the Peyton Reed-directed superhero flick is by no means a classic of the genre, it’s also not half-bad. Of course, there are already some nay-sayers in the mix.
As per usual, Twitter is the medium of choice for in-the-moment reactions, and all manner of press folk have opened up there about what they saw during Ant-Man‘s unveiling on the press circuit. Though full reviews are embargoed a while longer, check out some of the chatter below:

If the last ten years have taught us anything, it’s that industry fads and trends will endure as long as there’s an audience willing to fork out to watch them. From oafish vampires, to more apocalypses than Buffy stopped, if the demand is there then studios and networks will continue to produce the content.
During this period, sci-fi has seen a resurgence in popularity – mainly thanks to small screen serials. Today’s news indicates that that nerd-centric genre will continue its reign on the small screen, as Deadline reports that Babylon 5 creator J. Michael Straczynski has been earmarked by Spike TV to pen their adaptation of Kim Stanley Robinson’s trilogy of sci-fi novels, Red Mars.
Adopting the name of the first book in the trilogy, the popular series will harness realistic ‘hard’ science to tell the fictional story of how mars was terraformed to accommodate and sustain a thriving human population.

(It should go without saying that a post titled “In Defense of the Gone Girl Ending” will contain spoilers about how Gone Girl ends. But if you somehow ended up here and still don’t know how it ends, leave now.)
When millions of people read Gone Girl last summer, many finished the last chapter with a resounding “What the F*Ck?!” They loved the book, hated the ending. If that was your reaction, you'll probably feel the same about the movie, because — despite what you may have heard — it ends the same way.
Here, someone who liked the Gone Girl ending (me, John Boone) debates it with someone who didn’t — my mom, Kathy Boone, a 50-something regional sales manager from the Midwest whose favorite movie is Pay It Forward.
John: First, can you recap what happens at the end of the book? Or how you interpreted it? In the middle...

The songwriter/producer dropped the music video for "Boom Clap" today, giving a taste of sweet, fated kisses between Shailene Woodley's Hazel and Ansel Elgort's Gus for the John Boone-directed adaptation. The clip was shot in Amsterdam, which is the same setting as the film. "Boom Clap" is one of the original songs featured on "The Fault in Our Stars" soundtrack, which is out now ahead of the movie's June 6 release date. The tracklist also includes contributions from Jake Bugg, Ed Sheeran, Ray Lamontagne, Lykke Li, M83 and more. The set bowed at No. 8 on The Billboard 200 and may rise after the film premieres in the U.S. Charli Xcx is helping to lead the...
