Pierce Brosnan making his debut in the superhero world was not something had expected. Yet as fate would have it, the actor soon became probably the best part of Dwayne Johnson’s failed superhero venture, Black Adam. Starring as Dr. Fate aka Kent Nelson, Brosnan did an impeccable job and fans have been wanting to see more of him despite his grand sacrifice in the film.
Pierce Brosnan in Tomorrow Never Dies
While James Gunn and Peter Safran bringing one of DC’s oldest comic characters back to the screen seems like a distant dream, Brosnan can make his return to the world of superheroes elsewhere. And if his recent appearance is to be taken into consideration, Brosnan would look incredible as MCU’s Magneto.

The Dcu has been slowly morphing into James Gunn’s vision, one project at a time. Although many questioned his authority as the co-ceo when it was initially announced, he has been proving himself to be worthy through his plan for the franchise. One could say that the filmmaker is being extensively deliberate with the projects he greenlights and those he doesn’t.
Viola Davis as Amanda Waller
The perfect example of this would be the hit series, Peacemaker. Where many would assume that the decision for a second season was an easy one for Gunn, with the success that the series saw, the truth is something entirely different.

As the co-ceo of DC Studios and an exceptionally talented filmmaker, it is only natural that James Gunn is a busy man. On top of his bureaucratic duties, he is actively directing important projects in the DC Universe. Since its announcement, fans have been extremely excited for Superman: Legacy, especially because Gunn is heading the project.
Superman: Legacy is scheduled for July 2025 release (PC: DC)
The shooting for the movie has been going on for quite some time, and it is safe to assume that the filmmaker has his hands full with it.

Mortal Kombat is one of the most popular fighting games out there, and the latest title, Mortal Kombat 1, has received mostly positive reviews from fans and critics. There are several fighters that players love in the games, and a few others have also joined from other franchises as guest fighters.
Popular characters like Omni-Man from Invincible and Peacemaker from the Dceu are already in MK1, and many more will be coming in the future. However, there is one fighter that hasn’t been seen in the franchise’s history of 30 years, and co-creator Ed Boon has said it won’t ever happen.

Last year, fans and critics welcomed Mortal Kombat 1 with a pretty amazing reception. Changing history once again is all possible with Liu Kang and his demigod powers to rewrite things as he pleases.
But this is not all good news. Some hardcore fans of the franchise did not love all the aspects of the game; certain details were not what they were waiting for. These fans found many of the character designs and stages to be quite bland. This discussion was very specific, with a description of all the things that this fan didn’t like. This was posted on X.

One of the greatest nights in entertainment is when the Oscars arrive to reward all the great movies of the year. God of War Ragnarok, the latest installment in the popular PlayStation franchise God of War, was released in 2022, and the Valhalla Dlc for the game was released in December last year. There have been reports that Santa Monica Studio has already started working on a new game, but in a franchise first, an entirely separate studio is rumored to be handling the development of its own God of War game.
However, the studio has not made an official announcement yet, and while players wait for an update on what’s next for the franchise, a new leak has surfaced. A leaker has claimed that multiple projects in the franchise are in the works, and some are in development outside of Santa Monica.

Have you ever wondered what it would look like to see Master Chief from Halo take on Kratos from God of War in a gory battle to the death? If you have this Mortal Kombat 1 mod, you’re covered, as it brings these two iconic characters into NetherRealm Studio’s most recent iteration of the Mortal Kombat franchise.
Keep in mind that neither of these characters are actually available within the game, and there is no indication that they make their entrance into this game. However, this isn’t the first time that Kratos has been a part of the Mortal Kombat roster, but it is the first for Master Chief, which is causing the console wars to spark up once again.

The impact of Young Kratos from the God of War series sort of faded following the 2018 installment of the game. However, he didn’t just became famous in the GoW universe, but Mortal Kombat is responsible for making him popular as well. As feared as he is, and as much as the gods may want to kill him, they also respect him, as was seen during his first appearance in the franchise’ soft reboot.
The character has been praised by critics who have loved his attitude and the storyline of the God of War games. Kratos’ ascension to Mount Olympus in the initial title is usually seen as the most prominent moment throughout his story. As the narrative shifted from Greek mythology to Norse mythology, he developed a touch of tenderness, no matter how much he tries to hide it.

When it first came out in 1992, Mortal Kombat was the talk of the town. Every kid and their mother knew about it. Literally. The sheer violence and gore featured in the once-arcade game, had mothers taking to news outlets and politicians to get the game banned. Quite reminiscent of Kyle’s mom from South Park, one could say. Despite major censorship calls and aiding the birth of the Esrb, Mortal Kombat flourished, thanks in part to the controversies surrounding it.
Infamy of its gore aside, the game quickly became popular amongst players for its array of characters. The base roster still lives on in the modern iterations of the fighting game. Whether Liu Kang was your go-to or Thunder God Raiden, or perhaps Scorpion, everyone had their favorite pick. But amongst the ninjas and Gods alike, one character stood out that didn’t quite fit this bill… And that was Johnny Cage.

Mortal Kombat 1 was one of the major fighting games to come last year. This new entry resets all the lore and makes Liu Kang a literal god. The history and the new cameo system were very good additions to the franchise. With great collaborations with some popular Hollywood names, such as Jean-Claude Van Damme, who finally put his voice for Johnny Cage, and Megan Fox, Ed Boon’s title has now confirmed that a very anticipated feature will come soon to Mortal Kombat 1.

So, Mortal Kombat took the fighting game by storm, and made it a worthy opponent to Capcom’s Street Fighter II. The obvious question after that is: How do you follow up that success? The obvious answer came in November 1993 with Mortal Kombat II. Was it more of the same? Not quite. Building upon the framework of the original game, Mkii honed what made the original game so great, added more Kombatants, more Fatalities, more secrets, and in general just gave fans more of what they craved in pixelated blood.

With Homelander set to arrive Mortal Kombat 1 this Spring on the heels of the arrival of guest fighter Omni-Man last week, fans have been wondering if actor Antony Starr will be voicing The Boys‘ villain. Seeing as J. K. Simmons reprised his role as Omni-Man, it would only make sense, right? Unfortunately, it doesn’t appear that way.
X user Uppercut Editions, LLC. noted that per Starr’s Instagram, the actor was asked if he was lending his voice for Homelander for Mortal Kombat 1, to which Starr said “nope”.
Needless to say, this is disappointing for fans hoping to hear Starr spit out some cold one-liners against Simmons, Jean-Claude Van Damme, and the rest of the Mortal Kombat 1 roster. What’s even more frustrating is that Starr lent his voice to Homelander when he made his appearance in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 earlier this year.

Ed Boon is gonna Ed Boon, it seems. The Mortal Kombat 1 Creative Director is once again teasing fans with potential guest Dlc Kombatants for the recently-released fighter. And once again, he’s poking horror fans with those guest characters.
Boon took to X with another cryptic tweet, showing an image of famous horror icons. The image features Leatherface, Jason Voorhees, Freddy Krueger, Pinhead, Chucky, Michael Myers, Ghostface, and Billy the Puppet from Saw. Jason, Freddy and Leatherface have checkmarks over their faces (given their past inclusion in Mortal Kombat games), while the other characters sport question marks.
As expected, fans are going nuts over the possibilities. Others have chimed in with suggesting Bruce Campbell‘s Ash as a potential character, seeing as that rumour never quite went away for Mortal Kombat 11 until Campbell himself sadly squashed it. And having Ash in Call of Duty doesn’t quite feel right.

Keanu Reeves won’t get over here or give up his spine anytime soon, as he refuses to lend his characters to the Mortal Kombat series. But it’s not for a lack of trying, as the minds behind the newly released Mortal Kombat 1 made the attempt to get John Wick in the game.
Ed Boon recently told Rolling Stone that he and Warner Bros. Games envisioned getting Wick in Mortal Kombat partly as a throwback to the fighting game franchise’s origins. “When we were making Mortal Kombat (1992), the whole team was in the midst of Bloodsport, Enter the Dragon, and all the Terminator movies. I could certainly see the John Wicks of the world… as a matter of fact, that is one of the ones that we tried to get – John Wick – in Mortal Kombat, and we didn’t get it.” Keanu Reeves has been actively against allowing...

Like it or not, superhero characters are a part of everyday entertainment nowadays. You don’t need to be a comic book reader anymore to have at least basic knowledge about the most popular superheroes, such as Batman, Superman, Spider-Man, and Wonder Woman. Even B-list characters such as Guardians of the Galaxy and the Suicide Squad aren’t so unknown among the general audience anymore, thanks to the growing popularity of superhero characters through movies, television series, and video games.
The most popular video games based on Marvel and DC publications today are arguably Rocksteady’s ‘Batman: Arkham’ franchise and Insominac’s ‘Marvel’s Spider-Man’ franchise, but some other video game developers also developed games such as ‘Marvel’s Avengers,’ ‘Gotham Knights,’ and ‘Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.’ Also, many upcoming video games are currently in development.

In modern Hollywood, it’s not uncommon for WWE stars to become movie stars, mainly because they have already built their reputation and recognition as celebrities through WWE. John Cena is certainly one of those stars. He started his career as an actor in 2006’s ‘The Marine,’ and he gained further recognition with ‘Trainwreck,’ ‘Bumblebee,’ and the two latest installments of the ‘Fast & Furious’ franchise. However, he won’t be remembered for any of these roles as much as he’s going to be with the role of Christopher Smith, aka Peacemaker, in DC Extended Universe.

Superhero characters are a vital part of entertainment these days. Not only are we getting numerous live-action and animated movies and TV shows, but there are also plenty of video games that are based on characters that Marvel Comics and DC Comics spawned. One of the most known is the fighting video game ‘Injustice: Gods Among Us,’ which was released in 2013 and followed by the sequel ‘Injustice 2’ in 2017.
The ‘Injustice’ franchise was created by NetherRealm Studios, a company known for modern ‘Mortal Kombat’ games, and since Mortal Kombat is spawning another game every few years, there have been many questions and requests from fans for another ‘Injustice’ game. NetherRealm continues to add to the Mortal Kombat 1 roster, revealing Mortal Kombat 11‘s Geras as the latest kombatant in a new trailer. Interspersed with chatting between Geras and Liu Kang, the trailer shows the Guardian of the Hourglass getting to work putting the beatdown on opponents.
Geras returns in Mortal Kombat 1, utilizing time manipulation and sand with his attacks. We also get a glimpse of Mortal Kombat: Deception‘s Darrius returning as a Kameo Fighter.
It’s not all about Geras in this trailer, however. We also see Liu Kang in action as he and Geras talk of Liu’s decision to restart time, further implying that MK1 is a sequel, rather than a remake. And for those who couldn’t get enough of his first fatality, we get a shot of Liu Kang’s second fatality, which like the his first one, is as over-the-top as it is awesome.

Ed Boon is at it again with teasing the next Mortal Kombat entry. Much like the tease at the end of the video celebrating 30 years of the Mortal Kombat franchise, this new teaser has to do with time.
Over on the official YouTube page for Mortal Kombat, a new 16 second video entitled “It Is Almost Time” has shown up, featuring a ticking clock. As the clock ticks upwards to 12, it stops at 11, struggles, then skips over 12 to one.
As we mentioned before, there’s speculation that based on the events of Mortal Kombat 11, we could be going the “retelling” route with Mortal Kombat 12, going back to the original game again. Or, we could see a full-on reboot, this time from an alternate timeline.
Obviously, your guess is as good as ours, and until Boon and NetherRealm finally reveal just what their plans are, we can only guess.

NetherRealm is stil playing coy when it comes to the next entry for Mortal Kombat. And while we don’t have any news as of yet regarding the twelfth entry in the series, a new video appears to hint at what’s to come.
Yesterday, the Mortal Kombat Twitter account posted a video which featured several members of the development team thanking players for supporting the series for 30 years. And in typical Ed Boon fashion, he ended the video by saying that the team are “not quite done yet”. From there, the video cuts to a sequence showing sand falling in an hourglass. The camera zooms in on a single grain of sand, which explodes in something resembling The Big Bang.
Adding to the significance of the sequence is the main antagonist of Mortal Kombat 11 and Keeper of Time, Kronika, used an Hourglass that had the potential to rewind time...

Mortal Kombat’s big return to live-action was a mixed bag upon release. There’s no doubt that the feature is a million times better than its 90s counterparts. On the other hand, the 2021 reboot still needed another draft or two before going into production. However, the first Ten minutes of Mortal Kombat are simply perfect. It reminded fans of the iconic Scorpion/Sub-Zero rivalry. That sequence showcased that the series could translate well to live-action effortlessly. Unfortunately, the rest of Mortal Kombat never recaptures the magic it had in the opening minutes. On the bright side, the performances for most characters

While most Mortal Kombat fans would prefer to have a new console-based entry in the series for its 30th anniversary, the newly-announced Mortal Kombat: Onslaught looks to tide fans over until that happens. Launching globally in 2023 for mobile devices, Mortal Kombat: Onslaught will see players building a team of fighters from a roster of characters to unleash them in massive real-time group battles.
Developed and co-published by award-winning NetherRealm Studios, the game will feature the first mobile-exclusive cinematic story experience for the franchise. Before Mortal Kombat hit arcades 30 years ago, the arcade was dominated by Street Fighter II, and rightfully so. Capcom’s fighter had rejuvenated the arcade scene, and multiple developers were looking to cash in with their own creations, no matter how much they ripped off Street Fighter II‘s concept. Midway was one company, which had tasked Mortal Kombat creators Ed Boon and John Tobias with creating a fighting game that would rival Street Fighter II. A few digitized actors, a swapping of letters, and a Fatality or two later, and the duo had done just that.

New Line Cinema is moving forward with a “Mortal Kombat” sequel, with the 2021 film’s director Simon McQuoid set to return, sources tell TheWrap.
The previous film was a new adaptation of the popular video game franchise that offered a grittier, more violent take on the material than the 1990s films. It was released in April of 2021 both in theaters and on HBO Max, and was an early pandemic hit for distributor Warner Bros., ranking as one of the top feature titles on HBO Max since the streaming service debuted.
Jeremy Slater is writing the screenplay for the sequel, and news of his involvement was first revealed in January.
“Mortal Kombat” marked McQuoid’s feature directorial debut, and the film ended with a clear path forward for the franchise as the titular challenge does not occur within the events of the first movie. A post-credits scene also teased the inclusion...

Mortal Kombat was McQuoid’s feature directorial debut and was released simultaneously in theaters and on HBO Max during the pandemic in April 2021.
The feature opened No. 1 at the box office and ranks among the top feature titles ever on HBO Max since the platform launched. While some point to F9 or A Quiet Place Part II as the pics that led crowds back to theaters post-pandemic, Mortal Kombat was one of the early features to take a crack to gauging audiences’ interest in returning to theaters — and the results surprised many, especially since the film premiered day-and-date on HBO Max. Execs were quick to get a sequel in development,...
