Blackadder’s Tony Robinson teases reunion special: ‘Everybody likes a 40th anniversary, don’t they?’
Blackadder star Tony Robinson has teased the show’s potential return for a special episode to mark its 40th anniversary.
Robinson played Baldrick in the BBC comedy series, which aired from 1983 to 1989.
The historical comedy was written by Richard Curtis and Rowan Atkinson and starred Atkinson and Robinson in every series, with comic actors including Tim McInnerny, Hugh Laurie, Stephen Fry, Miranda Richardson and Rik Mayall appearing intermittently in other series.
With the show marking its 40th anniversary this year, fans have questioned whether a reunion could be on the cards.
Appearing on Lorraine on Monday (10 April), Robinson was asked if the group were planning to get back together by guest host Christine Lampard.
“All I’m gonna say is, everybody likes to celebrate a 40th anniversary, don’t they?
“So there must be some fresh way we can celebrate our 40th birthday, wouldn’t you think?” he responded.

Piers Morgan’s wife Celia Walden has opened up about the pair’s six-week marriage “sabbatical.”
Earlier this year, Morgan and Walden revealed that they were taking some time apart after spending so much time in each other’s company during the Covid-19 pandemic.
During an appearance on Lorraine on Thursday (1 September), Walden told host Christine Lampard about how beneficial the break has been for her and her husband.
“It was very good for both of us,” Walden said.
The Talk TV host confirmed that she and Morgan “didn’t have any problems before”.
“It was nothing like that, but it’s been a long pandemic hasn’t it,” Walden said.
Speaking of the column where she described the idea of this sabbatical, the British journalist added: “I described it in the piece as like rebooting your computer, where sometimes, it’s not that there’s anything in particular that’s wrong,...

There’s a scene in Iron Man 2, when Tony Stark is quite literally ogling the fresh-faced Black Widow (“I want one”), that hasn’t aged particularly well.
In fact, it already feels like a museum piece in the era of #MeToo. So it comes as no surprise that Black Widow herself, Scarlett Johansson, looks back on McU Phase One as a “major testosterone festival,” in which competing heroes drown out most, if not all female representation.
Currently in the midst of Avengers: Endgame‘s global press tour, Johansson swung by Lorraine (h/t Digital Spy) and spoke to guest host Christine Lampard about the McU’s imminent showdown, and why she felt nothing but relief when Marvel Studios finally opened its doors to other female characters besides Black Widow – think Peggy Carter, Scarlet Witch, Okoye and the supercharged Captain Marvel.

Stanley Tucci was on British morning show Lorraine on Wednesday when the topic of conversation turned to his upcoming movie, The Children Act, with Emma Thompson and his excitement to work with her for the first time. After singing her praises, the actor hilariously realized he had in fact worked with the British actress before — and very recently.
“She’s incredible. I’d never worked with her before, we sort of knew each other slightly,” Tucci, 56, said before quickly backtracking. “Oh no, that’s not true! We did Beauty and the Beast together, forgive me.

Frank Lampard and Christine Bleakley's relationship has apparently survived a game of Mr & Mrs.
The couple will appear alongside each other on this weekend's edition of sporting game show Play to the Whistle on ITV.
On the topic of the footballer's worst habit, Bleakley correctly guessed her partner's answer that he apparently leaves his toenail clippings around the house. Naughty Frank.
Host Holly Willoughby will be joined by regular captains Lampard and Bradley Walsh, alongside guests Bleakley, Dermot O'Leary, Arsenal player Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and comedian Romesh Ranganathan on Saturday (May 2).
Seann Walsh will also be on hand as the show's comedy umpire to determine who wins the battle this week.
Last year, Bleakley dismissed rumours that she will be relocating to New York following her partner's move to the city's local team. She currently presents ITV travel series Wild Ireland.

You'd be forgiven for thinking that Phillip Schofield resembled a toddler let loose in their mother's makeup bag during today's (April 7) This Morning show.
Schofield's unique new beauty style wasn't thanks to the ITV makeup department though, but fellow presenter Christine Bleakley and YouTuber Alfie Deyes.
As part of a challenge set during today's episode, viewers were asked to tweet with the hashtag #AlfieOnTM.
Schofield explained: "On page 11 [of Deyes's book] there is a blindfold make-up challenge... put a blindfold on, find a friend and decorate their face!"
Bleakley added: "If we get a thousand comments, Phillip and I will decorate Alfie's face, if we reach 10,000 Alfie and Phillip will decorate my face, but by the end of the show we want to reach 15,000 so Alfie and I can decorate Phillip's face!"
By the end of the programme at 12.30pm, #AlfieOnTM was trending worldwide and the comment counter had reached 100,000, meaning that Schofield prepared for a new look.

Phillip Schofield has criticised the investigation into This Morning's 'bondage for beginners' segment.
Ofcom confirmed earlier this month that it would investigate the piece, which was shown at 10.30am and featured advice on sex toys.
The February 3 segment, which was inspired by the movie adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey, saw 120 viewers complaining to Ofcom.
However, Schofield - who presented the show with Christine Bleakley on the day in question - suggested that viewers now complain at the drop of a hat.
"I think for me, and it's my own personal belief, but in the old days people would pick up the phone and complain or they'd write a letter," he told Pa. "But now they go to Ofcom, and they must be sick to death of all this.

"I could feel that somebody was touching me and the hands were pushing me against my will and I could feel the weight of the body on top of me.
"I couldn't see anybody but I could feel the pressure, the energy, the warmth pushing in different directions."

Well, it's definitely better than Daybreak.
It might not be the highest praise ever heaped on a breakfast TV show, but ITV's big cheeses will probably be breathing a sigh of relief this afternoon that they haven't found themselves another laughable turkey.
Good Morning Britain: Reactions and reviews round-up
Good Morning Britain launch: As it happens - Live Blog
Despite numerous revamps and hosts, Daybreak was doomed from its opening show, which failed to match the hype and was an uncomfortable hybrid of its predecessor GMTV, ITV's fierce rival BBC Breakfast and most oddly of all, The One Show.
Good Morning Britain's launch has, deliberately, been much more low key. The tabloids have been fed some quotes from Susanna Reid and her poaching from the BBC gave the Daily Mail plenty more reasons to ogle at her "pins", but the show hasn't suffered from the same pre-debut hullabaloo...

ITV's morning show Daybreak aired its final edition this morning (April 25).
Aled Jones co-hosted the final instalment with Kate Garraway, ahead of the launch of Good Morning Britain on Monday.
Good Morning Britain co-host Ben Shephard also joined the presenters to show viewers the set of his upcoming show.
"Good luck to Ben and the whole team actually," said Jones. "I'll be watching definitely."
Jones will begin hosting his new ITV morning show Weekend tomorrow at 8.30am. It will also air on Sundays at the same time.
Garraway added: "We don't have to miss you at all, do we? We don't have to get lovey dovey or anything."
The pair then embraced for a hug, before saying goodbye to the show for good.
Daybreak launched back in 2010, with hosts Christine Bleakley and Adrian Chiles. However, due to disappointing ratings, it was revamped in 2012 with new hosts Lorraine Kelly and Jones.

Bonnie Tyler was seen forgetting the words to her song 'Holding Out for a Hero' on live television last night (March 22).
The singer took the stage on Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway to help with a karaoke segment, which presented three viewers at home the chance to win money for singing along to the track.
After the second viewer successfully sang her designated portion of the song, Tyler appeared to fumble with the lyrics during the chorus.
Christine Bleakley, Samuel L Jackson, Scarlett Johansson and The Muppets also featured on the variety show yesterday.
Previous guests this year have included Holly Willoughby and Gordon Ramsay, who were pranked on the sets of Surprise, Surprise and the Us version Masterchef respectively.
Saturday Night Takeaway has been a consistent performer in the ratings this series, with the latest episode drawing in 6.17m viewers on ITV.
