Former children’s television producer Dan Schneider is suing the producers of ID’s Quiet on the Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV docuseries, calling the show a “hit job” that implied he was a sexual abuser of children.
The lawsuit, filed Wednesday in Los Angeles Superior Court and obtained by TVLine, states: “While it is indisputable that two bona fide child sexual abusers worked on Nickelodeon shows, it is likewise indisputable that Schneider had no knowledge of their abuse, was not complicit in the abuse, condemned the abuse once it was discovered and, critically, was not a child sexual abuser himself.

Showrunners are the creative visionaries of a series.
They might not be the original creators, but they cover all aspects of the creative elements, evolve the show's vision, and decide where the story and character arcs will go.
They run the writing rooms, head the development, hire writers, and ensure actors are kept happy and that the budget is not exceeded.
Series are usually a collective effort, with writers giving their thoughts, but showrunners have the final say and are essential.
Where would the industry be without people like Shonda Rhimes, Matt and Ross Duffer (Stranger Things), and Ryan Murphy?
It would be mundane and repetitive.
Intelligent and prolific showrunners are the difference between a hit and a flop.
They set an unwavering tone for their ideas, and consistency is vital.
If the reason you fell in love with a series is altered or gone one day, then the connection created is absent,...

“And I would have gotten away with it too if it weren’t for you meddling kids.” This is undoubtedly one of the most famous lines in the history of animated television and practically everyone will recognize it as the most famous phrase from the Scooby-Doo series. The phrase usually signified the end of a case when Scooby and the gang would explain the solution and prove that the guy they caught in the costume red-handed did it. The villain would then utter these words, cursing his ill-fated encounter with Mystery Inc., without which his plan would have succeeded, as it was otherwise perfect.
While the Scooby-Doo series is primarily an animated work, there have been live-action and CGI adaptations of the series as well. And while the CGI Scoob! movie was better received than the live-action movies, no adaptation has managed to come even close to the charm of the original animated series,...

Twenty years ago, Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage’s breakout hit The O.C., about a group of teens coming of age in Newport Beach, premiered on Fox. By the time the 27-episode first season aired its finale in the spring of 2004, the show was the highest-rated drama on TV among adults 18 to 34 and had catapulted its stars — whose characters were affectionately known as the “Core Four” — to massive, near-overnight popularity.
It wouldn’t be the first or last young adult series in the U.S. to generate a cultural frenzy. But the industry ecosystem that birthed and defined zeitgeisty YA shows like it — 22-episode drama series with largely white casts found through in-person auditions — is vanishing. As viewers have increasingly abandoned broadcast and cable TV, the linear networks these shows called home (Fox, The WB, Upn, The CW, MTV and Freeform) have also faced mergers, acquisitions, multiple rebrands or given...

Seems like the question “Scooby-Doo, where are you?” soon will become very unnecessary — we know that it’ll be on Netflix.
The recent news concerning the fan-favorite cartoon franchise has just made it officially clear that Netflix is planning a big live-action reboot for Scooby-Doo’s story. The previous attempt to revive the story of detective teenagers with a troublemaking dog was made by HBO back in 2023 and eventually turned out to be a flop.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, for Scooby-Doo's new installment Netflix is teaming up with its frequent writer and producer Greg Berlanti famous for his work on the streaming’s hits like Riverdale, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and You.
No significant details about the upcoming remake have been revealed yet, but the show is described as “live-action update of the classic cartoon” thus making it unclear whether it will have connections with other live-action installments of Hanna-Barbera’s beloved story.

Nearly a year after Queen Charlotte’s six-episode Season 1 binge drop, mega producer Shonda Rhimes — who wrote and served as showrunner on the series — is speaking on the potential for new episodes.
The Netflix drama told the story of Charlotte and George’s passionate romance and how their arranged union sparked a societal shift that resulted in the diverse world presented in Bridgerton. The season ended with the titular monarch and a rarely lucid King George in present day celebrating the news of their son Edward finally conceiving an heir.

Mystery Inc. rides again! Variety is reporting that the long-running "Scooby-Doo" franchise may be making a leap back to the live-action world, this time courtesy of Netflix. Sources tell the outlet that, unlike past versions of the Hanna-Barbera-created franchise, the new series won't be a comedic mystery but a one-hour drama series. Warner Bros. Television, which has been responsible for other dark teen-centric Netflix shows like "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" and "Dead Boy Detectives," is set to produce.
Though the deal apparently isn't set in stone yet, the untitled "Scooby-Doo" live-action project is apparently in talks to receive a script-to-series commitment, with the team from Arrowverse maestro Greg Berlanti's Berlanti Productions (which also helped bring the two above titles to life) set to produce. Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg, the creative duo that co-executive produced shows like Hulu's "High Fidelity" and MGM+'s underrated "From," are set to...

Few actors can make a successful jump from the front of the camera to behind it. While stars like Ben Affleck have navigated this transition, Taylor Sheridan has proved that he isn’t far behind. The star who became a recognizable face on television in shows like Sons of Anarchy and Veronica Mars, found his true calling as a writer with his hugely popular series Yellowstone.

Encouraged by the success of the show, Sheridan went on to create two prequels namely 1883, and its immediate sequel 1923 which starred Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren in the lead roles. The series, which has been renewed for a 2nd season, was initially given a different title by the writer, but was subsequently modified following the change in its historical setting.

Spoiler Alert: This post contains spoilers for “Life Is a Highway,” the eighth episode of “The Girls on the Bus” Season 1, now streaming on Max.
When Rina Mimoun first produced an episode of television about abortion, she had no idea she’d be doing the same thing more than two decades later. “The Girls on the Bus” showrunner, who worked with Greg Berlanti on the “very special episode” of “Everwood” about women’s rights in 2001, did just that with the eighth episode of the Max series, which debuted on Thursday.
The episode picked up right where they last left off: Sadie (Melissa Benoist) ordered abortion pills to be delivered to her California hotel while on the campaign trail; when they didn’t arrive in time, she was stuck, as the next state on the trip was Missouri — where abortion is illegal. After telling the other women about her dilemma in...

[Editor’s note: The following interview contains light spoilers for Episode 8 of “The Girls on the Bus.”]
On the April 25 episode of Max’s “The Girls on the Bus,” Sadie (Melissa Benoist) had an abortion.
The matter-of-fact decision for the young reporter is only (“only!”) complicated by the all-too-real problem of Sadie’s political journo travel schedule, and the differing rules of which U.S. state she is in when and how to legally ship the needed pills to the correct location.
“It has to be specific, because I was like, ‘They’re not [campaigning in] a Democratic primary in a deep red state,'” co-creator Amy Chozick, whose reporting memoir upon which the show is based, explained about the logistics. “Then, of course, the rules were changing. We literally had a map of the U.S. in the writers room like, ‘Ok, they could be realistically campaigning in Missouri, and it is still legal in Illinois,’ so we were actually moving pieces of...

Yellowstone has placed itself at the top when it comes to the best Western TV shows of all time. Now having several spin-offs airing and in the works, the Western series by Taylor Sheridan is one of the best to have been created involving politics, drama, romance, and more.
Kevin Costner in Yellowstone
Despite the impressive response and fame, the drama will be ending and Kevin Costner will be saying goodbye to his fan-favorite character of John Dutton. And so will Josh Lucas, who portrayed the young version of Dutton in the hit series. While talking about his time in the show, the actor also revealed how Sheridan turned down one request from him that would leave fans shocked.

Taylor Sheridan has made a massive name in television after making Yellowstone for Paramount Network. The neo-Western series starring Kevin Costner has been running for five seasons with numerous spin-offs attached to it. It is commendable that most of the Yellowstone content is written by Sheridan himself. However, his approach was a bit different initially.
Kevin Costner in Yellowstone
Taylor Sheridan did not think about writing most of the series himself from the start. Initially, he wanted to borrow the style of the Arrowverse co-creator Greg Berlanti. Unfortunately, the concept of a writer’s room did not work for Sheridan and he took on the task of telling the tales to the audience the way he wanted.
Why did Taylor Sheridan’s plan for a writer’s room for Yellowstone fail?
Taylor Sheridan created and acted in Yellowstone
The presently defunct- Arrowverse was one of the biggest things in television.

Jennifer Lopez confronts her mistrust of technology to battle artificial intelligence villain Harlan, played by Simu Liu, in the latest trailer for Netflix’s upcoming sci-fi movie Atlas.
In the first trailer for Atlas, Lopez’s data-driven counter-terrorism analyst Atlas Shepherd first showed her deep distrust of AI when disaster strikes. But the new trailer sees Liu introduced as the AI character Harlan, whom Atlas has long hunted and is now shown to have nearly ended humanity after first being engineered to advance it.
So to save the the future of humanity from AI, Atlas, in the latest teaser trailer, learns to trust AI. As dystopian, ground-pounding carnage dominates the trailer, Lopez rockets off to a far-off planet to capture a renegade robot and teams up with a computer program named Smith in what appears, at times, like buddy comedy.

Science fiction not only aspires to tell stories that predict the future and the moral lessons that come from an uncertain path, but much of science fiction is also inspired by the current climate of culture. After movies like The Creator from Gareth Edwards, we may be seeing an influx of AI-related stories. The upcoming Atlas from Netflix has Jennifer Lopez fighting her own war in an exo suit that is run by an AI program that Lopez must trust in order to survive. The new trailer has now premiered online courtesy of Netflix.
The official plot synopsis from Netflix reads,
“Atlas Shepherd (Jennifer Lopez), a brilliant but misanthropic data analyst with a deep distrust of artificial intelligence, joins a mission to capture a renegade robot with whom she shares a mysterious past. But when plans go awry, her only hope of saving the future of humanity from AI is to trust it.

Exclusive: This is a rare occurrence in the current strike-impacted broadcast season — a scripted series getting an order for additional episodes. According to sources, the CW’s flagship drama All American is having its current sixth season extended from 13 episode to 15 episodes.
All American’s first five seasons have ranged between 16-20 episodes. With the series picking up just over a year after the end of Season 5, there is a lot of unpack, and the extra episodes would allow to better flesh out the story and build toward a satisfying conclusion.
It also would allow fans to stay in the current world longer as All American‘s characters are preparing for major life changes, with series protagonist Spencer James (Daniel Ezra) and potentially Jordan Baker (Michael Evans Behling) headed to the NFL draft.

James Gunn has been busy directing the first chapter of the new Dcu i.e. Superman (formerly Superman: Legacy). He is also simultaneously directing some episodes of Peacemaker season 2 and is handling all the grunt work that comes with being the co-chief of the new DC Studios.
It seems like part of the grunt work includes answering for the past projects of the Dcu (then the Dceu). The filmmaker was recently asked by a fan about the Green Lantern TV show for HBO Max that was in development starring American Horror Story’s Finn Wittrock. Gunn reportedly clarified the status of the project, which was announced back in 2021.

The Dceu has announced many projects in the past including films and TV shows that eventually never saw the light of day.

‘Fly Me to the Moon’ trailer lets Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum play among the stars [Watch]
“Fly Me to the Moon,” a Space Race-set romantic comedy starring two-time Oscar nominee Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum, is about to blast off. On Monday, Apple TV+ released a trailer for the film, which lands on screens this summer via a distribution deal with Sony Pictures.
“Fly Me to the Moon” tells a fictitious story set in the late ‘60s during the lead-up to the Moon Landing. Johansson, who also serves as a producer, stars as Kelly Jones, a marketing mastermind hired by NASA to improve the space program’s image. She has professional and romantic tension with Cole Davis (Tatum), a by-the-book launch commander. Things get really wild when Jones is ordered to film a fake moon landing, just in case the real one doesn’t work. And yes, there is a Stanley Kubrick joke.

And now some 55 years later, NASA is preparing to send people back to the lunar surface. Scheduled for September 2025, the Artemis II flight test will be NASA’s first mission with crew under Artemis and will pave the way to land the first woman and next man on the Moon on Artemis III.
