- Jule Ann Benedic was raised by a columnist named Arthur and a dancer named Nellie. She was a blonde, a redhead, and a brunette depending on what producers wanted. Although she yearned to be an actress, her gift was as an artist. She could paint, sketch, and sculpt. Julie and her mother lived in Boston -after her father died- for years before she began work as a model at the age of 14, but she convinced agencies that she was 19 because of her height. She used the name Brik Tone in a lot of her pictorials, as well as her appearances at venues like Billy Rose's Diamond Horseshoe and the pageants -which she won- Miss Negligee Princess of Prints, and Miss New York. She signed with the Roly Rogers Modeling Agency, and spent years appearing in magazines modeling coats.
Her first high-profile gig was in a stage production of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes at the Orpheum Theater, which she continued doing for two years. She took an extended absence after the unexpected death of her mother, who had acted as her agent as well. She kept herself occupied between drawing, writing, and co-producing a drama with her mother. After getting married, she tried her luck at Hollywood. She got two great roles in Go Man Go (1954) and The Harder They Fall (1956). As the 1950s progressed, her 5'11 height rose to 6'1. She once blamed her statuesque height for her inability to get gigs. She left the industry and had three children named Sunday, Jnell, and Max.- IMDb Mini Biography By: Samuel Clemens of Glamour Girls of the Silver Screen
