- His sister, Natalie Venetia Belcon, is a Broadway actress. She was in Rent and is currently Gary Coleman in the Tony Award-winning Avenue Q.
- Attended Fiorello La Guardia School of Music, Art & Performing Arts, New York City. Also known as the "Fame" School.
- When he was a teenager, he taught himself to play trap drums. After 5 months of playing, he performed and recorded with the NYC American Ska band Exterminators. Garth played drums on the track "Big Talker", which became part of the first ever USA Ska compilation Skaface that also includes No Doubt's "Everything's Wrong", their first vinyl recording featuring a very young Gwen Stefani.
