- Samuel E. Beetley was born on November 23, 1913 in San Antonio, Texas, USA. He was a production manager and editor, known for The Longest Day (1962), Soylent Green (1973) and Out of the Past (1947). He died on September 15, 1988 in Santa Cruz, California, USA.
- Worked as editor at RKO from 1946 to 1952, then moving to 20th Century Fox, first as editor (1952-67), then as post-production supervisor. He latterly worked in television for Aaron Spelling Productions. Beetley won two Emmy Awards.
