Buried in Annapolis, Md., directly across the street from Beach Hall,
which was dedicated in tribute to both captains Beach, father and son,
in 1999.
His father, Edward Beach Sr., was also a U.S. Navy captain.
Graduated second in his class at the U.S. Naval Academy in 1939.
Retired as a captain.

during its historic voyage around the world while submerged, the first

Beach is survived by his wife, Ingrid, a sister, two sons, a daughter,
and four grandchildren.
