Darryl Bartlett was born in 1965. He got his first pair of cowboy boots when he was just three years old and has been a western fan every since. Growing up in the small town of Addison, Al., playing "Cowboy and Indians" was his favorite past time as a young boy. When he wasn't outside playing he was glued to the TV watching Big Valley, Bonanza, Gunsmoke and his favorite show the Virginian. Darryl still enjoys westerns and is a Avid Fisherman.
In 1983 he graduated from Addison High School, in 1989 he met his lovely wife Deanna and they were married in 1991, they have one son Tyler and a grandson Eli (Eli already has his first pair of cowboy boots at the age 18 months, and he loves watching westerns with his Grandpa). Darryl and Deanna have a construction company that they started in 1992 and recently purchased a restaurant they named "Shiloh's" after the ranch from Darryl's favorite show "the Virginian." Shiloh's is filled with western memorabilia from all types of western movies and TV shows, most notably from his favorite movie and TV show the Virginian, Joel McCrae from the 1946 movie and James Drury and the rest of the cast from the TV series.
One day while sitting around watching his grandson Eli play with a small horse Darryl came up with the idea for Billy and the Bandit. He then approached Nancy Thomas and they collaborated on a story with great morals and mixed it with animation and live action and loosely based it upon Owen Wister's novel "A horseman of the plains". Darryl then approached Gary Clarke to write the screenplay and he most graciously accepted, then as the project picked up steam they were able to get some great Western movie stars and some new and up and coming actors including, James Drury, Roberta Shore, Buck Taylor, Jordan Elsass, Donny Boaz, Ava L'amoreaux. This story will bridge generational gaps and entertain people from 5yrs old to 105 yrs old.
