Joseph Arthur has filed a 25 million defamation lawsuit against the Los Angeles Times, alleging the newspaper falsely labeled him as an anti-vaxxer in a 2021 article about the singer-songwriter.
Arthur, who’d questioned the safety of the Covid-19 vaccine and on his social media accounts likened vaccination requirements for entry into certain spaces to segregation, alleged in the suit that the LA Times article “was instantly understood to convey a defamatory meaning, including that Arthur is an anti-vaxxer, spreading disinformation.”

It has been a decade since Ryan Atwood (Benjamin McKenzie) had his first entree into life in "The O.C.," bringing fans of teen soap along for a look at life inside the mansions of Newport Beach. The Fox drama, which premiered on August 5, 2003, was filled with envelope-pushing sexual encounters, Juicy Couture jumpsuits, Death Cab for Cutie, trips to T.J. and much, much more.
Josh Schwartz was a day shy of 27 when "The O.C." first hit the airwaves, which made him the youngest TV creator ever and probably, one of the only ones who would admit to penning a highly-acclaimed pilot in his boxer shorts.
From the real story behind Mischa Barton's departure to the Cohens' original name, and the missed coupling opportunities to the star who didn't even make it onto "The O.C.'s" first poster, read on to see what Schwartz revealed to The Huffington Post while...

If you have this strange urge to listen to Death Cab and read comic books today, there's a reason: 10 years ago, on Aug. 5, 2003, "The O.C." premiered on Fox.
Seminal hardly begins to describe the impact Josh Schwartz's coming-of-age series had on popular culture. The first season exploded through the zeitgeist like a comet, helping user in the age of geek rule while also turning indie rock acts like Rooney, The Killers and the aforementioned Death Cab for Cutie into required listening for emo kids of all ages.
"The first six or seven episodes was really literally stuff off of my iPod," Schwartz told HitFix writer Alan Sepinwall in a new interview. "Some of the bands that we reached out to were these indie rock bands, and that was all we could afford. A lot of these bands probably would have had deeper reservations about having their music debut on a Fox teen soap,...

As many iTunes lovers and Youtube fanatics understand, music (old and new) has become a huge factor on hit television shows and both the show and artists featured benefit from the collaboration. Ever YouTube a certain scene from your favorite show for hours on end? Did it have a catchy song that you immediately downloaded? Yes, the odds are that you have.
Television show soundtracks are an obsession over here and the music played make that specific scene that much more memorable. Remember "Hide and Seek" when Marissa Cooper killed Ryan's brother Trey? What about "Paint the Silence" by Dice when Marissa kissed Ryan on the ferris wheel? Thought so. The O.C. has had so many hits like Phantom Planet's "California" and even the cover of "Forever Young" by Youth Group, but here's to 10 more that made just as much of an impact.
Also, stay tuned weekly here at...

Look, I know New York can be a pretty crazy town sometimes, but I find it extremely hard to believe that any cab driver wouldn't notice a half-naked Mischa Barton running down the sidewalk after him. I mean, these guys have their eyes everywhere except the road, right? Also, I'm a little dismayed to see that Noel Gallagher has ditched the High Flying Birds to pursue his apparent true calling in life: staring out windows with stolid bemusement.

Check out this and much more (or, well, less, I suppose you might say) in the madcap new music video for current single "Everybody's On The Run" below.
Sure, sure, attractive skinny people in their underwear are fun and all, but I'm more pleases to see, at long last, the return of the Stuff Happening In Big Cities music video format.

I don't think I've mentioned that this is the last season of "Rescue Me" yet so I'm going to now, because it gives me something to talk about tonight that's actually sort of interesting. Now in it's seventh season, the show has been variously praised for its portrayal of Ptsd and alcoholism in Tommy Gavin (Denis Leary) and derided for romanticizing a man who is a consummate asshole. I'm more of the opinion that it's a combination of both. I mean, those two characterizations aren't really at odds with each other. Damaged people aren't always saints and assholes can have terrible things happen to them and genuine problems to deal with. Doesn't make them the most sympathetic of characters, but sometimes it can make for more interesting stories and interactions. Also, it's one of those rare shows that really got to plan out their ending, since the announcement that this...
