He studied music on the school of music in Antwerp. He was an
impressario and director 1928 till 1981 on L'Office International de
concerts et Spectacles. He organized several concerts, operettas and
theatrical performances in Antwerp. He translated and directed several
german operettas into Dutch. From 1939 till 1956 he was production
manager for the S.A. Compagnie du Film. He wrote during World War II
together with Hendrik Gonissen revues and musicals for the 'empire
Schouwburg' in Antwerp. He wrote under pseudonym 'Athur Nelis' the
musicals 'Trek 't U niet aan' in 1942, 'Allez amuseert U' in 1943, and
'Spek voor Uwenh bek' in 1944. He was production manager for
synchronising movies from german to Dutch, during World War II. In 1955
he founded the 'Philharmonie van Antwerpen'. In 1958 he became director
of the American Theatre in Brussels (Amerikaans Theater). He was
artistic director, organiser and leader of the 'International Theater
Festival of Antwerp' from 1958 till 1975. He studied music on the
