Last month, reports revealed that actress Janet Andrewartha was bowing out from her role as Lyn after playing the character on and off since 1999. Steph, meanwhile, made her final appearance on Neighbours late last year as she was jailed for causing Ringo Brown's tragic death while driving under the influence of alcohol. Speaking to Digital Spy about the reasons for her on-screen grandmother's exit, Lucas - who plays Summer Hoyland - explained: "Well, it has a lot to do with how Charlie is coping without Steph. Lyn knows that he needs to have more contact with his mum and the only way to do that is to move closer to the prison where Steph is doing (more)...

The actress explained that although Lyn is going through a rough patch, things will slowly start to improve when she stands up for herself. She told Holy Soap: "She feels completely guilty even though when she hears about the fire she doesn't actually know how it started. "She was planning to put up the faulty lights but at the last minute changed her mind and hid the lights. She is terrified that someone is going to be hurt." Andrewartha said that Paul's demands keep "escalating" until Lyn feels like she is trapped. "He (Paul) is highly emotional because his son Andrew (more)...

Neighbours star Janet Andrewartha has insisted that the transformation of her character Lyn Scully is "a good thing". Lyn, who made her Ramsay Street debut in 1999, has appeared less timid and submissive since she returned to Erinsborough last year following a long break staying with her mother at Shelley Bay. Reflecting on her alter ego's development, Andrewartha told Holy Soap: "I quite like the way they've done that. As happens in life, one meets people one hasn't seen in a few years, and they perhaps have a harder edge to them and life has treated them rather roughly. You see a world weariness about them and more fight than they had. "She's less passive than she was, which is a good thing. (more)...
