A Washington state resident who allegedly helped a Florida journalist break into computer systems used by leading news organizations will plead guilty to a single felony count of conspiracy on Monday, The Desk has learned.
The admission by Marco Gaudino, 24, of Auburn is part of a plea agreement with federal prosecutors that could see him testify against former Deadspin editor Timothy Burke over the misappropriation of passwords used by the National Basketball League (NBA) and CBS News, the latter of which gave Burke access to unedited footage of certain programs aired on the Fox News Channel.
Gaudino was charged on April 12, with his arraignment tentatively scheduled for this past Monday, according to court records reviewed by The Desk. The arraignment was delayed to next Monday at the request of his public defender,...

This experience provoked my move away from LA and ending my pursuit of acting.”

Two completely different movies just spurred a huge streaming weekend for Paramount+.
The first thing to know: “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts” was the most-streamed movie in the U.S. last weekend, according to Whip Media’s weekly movie ranker. Whip Media’s ranker is based on viewership data from TV Time, its TV and movie tracking app with more than 26 million global registered users.
“Beasts” took the top spot immediately after making its Paramount+ debut on July 25. But its streaming success wasn’t necessarily a sure thing.
The new “Transformers” movie, directed by Steven Caple Jr. and starring Anthony Ramos and Dominique Fishback, pulled in about $430 million at the box office. That’s a lot of money, to be sure, but it’s also the smallest amount made out of any of the franchise’s seven installments. Its finish atop Whip Media’s ranker marked the first time since...

Jamie Lynn Spears said reuniting with her Pacific Coast Academy squad for Zoey 102 was a “surreal” experience.
During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, published online Thursday, the actress opened up about how the upcoming movie materialized to begin with, saying it was a “pinch-me moment a lot of times.”
“It’s something we’ve worked on really hard for years to get, being patient to make sure it’s right, putting the right things in place,” she said. “And then it’s like a dream come true. It’s this thing you’ve been talking about and working on and trying to bring to life.”
Spears added that she almost couldn’t believe it was real until they started filming. “The first day I walked on set, I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, we really did it. We’re here, we’re doing it,’ so it is surreal,” she said.

Are you ready? The official trailer for Paramount+’s Zoey 102 is here, and the gang’s (mostly) back together again.
The first look at the film sees Pacific Coast Academy alumni Zoey (Jamie Lynn Spears), Quinn (Erin Sanders), Logan (Matthew Underwood), Chase (Sean Flynn), Michael (Christopher Massey) and Stacey (Abby Wilde) reunite for Quinn and Logan’s wedding.
The trailer opens with a look at Zoey 15 years after Zoey 101 ended. She’s now 30, single and eager to know why everyone her age is obsessed with marriage, only to find out her best friend, Quinn, is set to be wed.
“Chase is gonna be there. It’ll be fine,” Quinn tells Zoey. “It’ll be the reunion we all need.” It’s a response that makes Zoey want to get another drink, hinting that the former high school couple may not be on the best of terms anymore after ending the Nickelodeon series together.

A movie sequel to “Zoey 101,” the 2005 Nickelodeon series starring Jamie Lynn Spears, is coming to Paramount+.
The streamer announced the film, tentatively titled “Zoey 102,” on Thursday. The movie, which will premiere on Paramount+ later this year, stars Spears and several former cast members of the series, including Erin Sanders, Sean Flynn, Matthew Underwood, Christopher Massey, Abby Wilde, and Jack Salvatore.
The original series, created and executive produced by Dan Schneider, aired for four seasons from 2005 to 2008 and focused on Zoey, a middle schooler who attends boarding school at the fictional Pacific Coast Academy in Southern California. The film will focus on a reunion between Zoey and her friends at a wedding.
Although “Zoey 101” was popular during its original run, receiving an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Children’s Programming for its first season, accusations about on-set drama during the series’ production have made the show’s revival a dicier proposition.
