CBS’ hit sitcom Ghosts continues to delight fans, but the subject matter grew heavy on Thursday, April 18. While fans were thrilled to see Flower return, more surprises were in store. Leading up to the episode, fans of the series had already learned how most of the ghosts died, and now we’ve learned Hetty’s cause of death. That leaves just one ghost with an unknown death.
Hetty’s cause of death has been revealed
Hetty, the robber baroness who controls Woodstone Mansion, has been an important character since the series’ inception, but her death remained a mystery until recently. Earlier in the series, fans learned that Hetty’s diabolic husband, Elias, died when he was trapped inside a vault. Still, Hetty never spoke of her own demise.

“Ghosts” hit another landmark on Thursday night, as this week’s episode of the hit CBS comedy revealed the truth behind Flower’s disappearance — while also, on a much more profound level, explored the truth behind Hetty’s death in 1895.
In the episode, “Holes are Bad,” when Sam (Rose McIver) and Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar) go away for the weekend, the ghosts are left alone — and discover that Flower (Sheila Carrasco) hadn’t been “sucked away” to the afterlife as they thought. Instead, she’s been stuck at the bottom of a well, and had no way of getting out of it.
While they’re gone, Sam and Jay had hired a contractor to fill the well with concrete — which would have left Flower stuck in there for eternity. But with no way to contact Sam and Jay (their efforts to FaceTime the livings fails), the ghosts struggled to find another way to save her.

Football Sunday will be movie night for CBS’ Ghosts, and they’re watching a very on-brand film.
In the above Super Bowl commercial for the hit comedy, livings Sam and Jay gather with their ghostly “roommates” for the 1990 classic Ghost, starring Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore and Whoopi Goldberg. In typical Ghosts fashion, there’s plenty of color commentary from the spirits about the movie’s plot, with the ad’s dialogue written by showrunners Joe Port and Joe Wiseman, per our sister site Deadline.

Season two of CBS’s popular half-hour comedy Ghosts ended on a cliffhanger that left fans speculating as to the identity of the ghost who has moved on. Sam watched (and described to Jay) from the driveway of the Woodstone Mansion Bed & Breakfast as one of the ghosts got “sucked off” – the unfortunate term used by the dearly departed to indicate one has finally left Earth and is a ghost no more.
The teaser for season three episode one, “The Owl,” gives nothing away as it shows Sam searching the house, with Jay trying to help out before remembering he can’t see ghosts. CBS’s official description of the season three premiere airing on February 15, 2024 at 8:30pm Et/Pt also doesn’t reveal any specifics:

Ghosts was one of many shows pushed back due to this summer’s WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, with its third season now premiering on February 15, 2024. But the good news? Production is almost back up and running. Danielle Pinnock, who plays 1920s Prohibition-era jazz singer Alberta on the hit CBS sitcom, revealed the news at the red carpet premiere for her new Amazon MGM holiday film, Candy Cane Lane. “We start shooting on Saturday. I fly down to Montreal. We’re going back, baby!” Pinnock told Deadline. “We did a table read — those scripts are good!” She also shared that Season 3 is expected to shoot “only ten episodes this season,” as opposed to the lengthier first two seasons (18 episodes for Season 1 and 22 episodes for Season 2). This is because of both the delays caused by the strikes and co-star Sheila Carrasco expecting her first child. Ashley D. Kelley and Danielle...

After being forced to push the Season 3 premiere date for its hit comedy Ghosts to February 15, 2024 amidst this summer’s dual strikes, CBS is readying for its return to production, star Danielle Pinnock has revealed.
“We start shooting on Saturday. I fly down to Montreal. We’re going back, baby!” exclaimed Pinnock tonight, in conversation with Deadline at the red carpet premiere for her new Amazon MGM holiday film, Candy Cane Lane. “We did a table read — those scripts are good!”
Pinnock expects the show to shoot “only 10 episodes this season,” rather than the 18+ that have been put out in its first two go-rounds, because of both strike-forced delays and the fact that her co-star Sheila Carrasco is expecting her first child. Still, she teased, “those episodes are fierce and the audiences should prepare themselves.”

Ghosts will return to CBS for season 3 now that the SAG-AFTRA strike has officially ended. Fans of the series have been waiting for months to find out which spirit, if any, were “sucked off” in the season 2 finale. Now, the wait is almost over. CBS has spent the days since the end of the strike working out a schedule that will ensure new content makes it to viewers as quickly as possible. It seems like the network has prioritized its biggest hits since season 3 of Ghosts has an official premiere date.
When will ‘Ghosts’ season 3 premiere?
CBS has wasted no time updating viewers about their altered 2024 TV schedule. Shortly after the guild reached an agreement with production companies, CBS got to work trying to figure out exactly when their most popular shows could return with new seasons. According to Variety, Ghosts season 3 now has an official premiere date of Feb.

Even if you're a fan of Jamie Dornan, there's plenty of mystery around his private life, which he tends to keep, well, private. The Fifty Shades actor has been married to composer Amelia Warner since 2013, three years after they started dating.
Dornan revealed on "Eamonn Mallie: Face to Face With" that he knew he would end up marrying Warner after they first met. "I didn't tell her that," the star of "The Tourist" said. "That would have been a bit too strong, I think, as an opener. It was definitely an epiphany moment. I feel like you'll have a few of those in your life."
The couple went on to welcome three girls, though he rarely posts about them on social media. On International Women's Day in 2022, the actor posted a photo of his wife and children all holding hands. "I'm nothing but a pile of dust without this crew,...

Season 3 of Ghosts doesn’t yet have a release date. The ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike could put the season on ice for a while. Despite the hiccup, we know we’ll be seeing the season on CBS sooner or later, and there has been a lot of discussion about it since season 2 drew to a close in May. While Ghosts fans are open to just about any storyline, there is one they are hoping is completely off the table. Fans of the series don’t want to see any of the main ghosts get sucked off.

When Sam and Jay inherited Woodstone Mansion, they got more than they bargained for. We are talking about something other than the costly renovations, although those have added up over the last two seasons of Ghosts, too. Sam and Jay inherited a cast of complex and quirky ghosts along with Woodstone Mansion. While the spirits that haunt Woodstone keep the comedy series fresh, it can be hard to keep up with who is who. We’ve collected a cheat sheet ahead of season 3, so you’ll know exactly when each ghost lived and died.

The fallout from Tatiana Siegel’s Variety article that has captivated the media industry continues, as Variety quietly added updates to the piece on Friday.
The article received backlash from many, with some calling for Variety to retract the story that claims former CNN CEO Jeff Zucker has spent the last year courting billionaires to secure funding in an effort to purchase CNN, including The Atlantic’s Tim Alberta, Puck News co-founder John Kelley and Zucker himself.
On Friday afternoon, Variety added updates to the story in order to “reflect new statements from Kelly and Alberta,” a note at the bottom of the page now reads.
“After this article was published, Alberta responded on social media that he met with Licht on seven different days and used ‘zero off-record details or quotes,'” the story says in an updated paragraph.

Conservative media personality Megyn Kelly went after CNN’s Chris Licht and his ability to lead the news organization after a profile in The Atlantic put him in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons.

What kind of a man does that?” Kelly questioned during her Tuesday episode of SiriusXM’s “The Megyn Kelly Show,” later adding: “It’s clear he fancies himself a mini Roger Ailes wannabe.”

Forty-three years ago last week, CNN launched as an ambitious attempt to revolutionize TV news. Now it’s at the center of the media universe, and looking to redefine itself once again. While CNN’s launch on June 1, 1980, was marked by celebration, the experience in 2023 was, in the words of one former CNN journalist, one of “melancholy.”
On Monday morning, CNN CEO Chris Licht addressed his division’s employees on the daily editorial call, telling them he will “fight like hell” to win back their trust, and that they “deserve a leader who will be in the trenches” fighting for them.
It was a mea culpa that was warmly received after a week of confusion about his future at the network, and a story about CNN that rocked the channel.

The frenzied question of “Will Chris Licht survive?” is on the minds of media pundits everywhere after a devastating, 16,000-word takedown of the CNN chief that ran in The Atlantic magazine on Friday.
That question is exactly what moves the gossip mill. It’s juicy. But it misses the point.
The actual question is: How should CNN cover the news? What is the path and mission for a defining media property that is central to the health of our democracy?
Or to put it most starkly: What is CNN?
As a nation, we no longer tune in to network evening news and there is no defining, trusted voice in broadcast in morning, evening or late night. Decision-makers and cognoscenti of all stripes watch cable news. Ratings leader Fox News Channel...

Before former President Donald Trump took the stage for his televised town hall in May, CNN CEO Chris Licht reportedly told him to “Have fun.” That’s just one of the shocking details that’s emerged from reporter Tim Alberta’s recent profile of the executive for The Atlantic.
According to Alberta’s reporting, Licht knew that the crowd’s makeup skewed more towards Maga enthusiasts than the “GOP-leaning independents” CNN originally claimed would occupy these seats. Ahead of the town hall, Licht even made a comment to his deputies about the crowd being “extra Trumpy.”

Where is Maury Povich when you need him? He could've solved this paternity issue like no other.
The future of Woodstone Manor was put into chaos when a new heir arrived in town on Ghosts Season 2 Episode 22.
Family secrets and ghostly troubles kept the crew busy, but we were treated to a must-see season finale -- one of Ghost's best episodes by far!
"The Heir" was a perfect mix of everything we love about Ghosts. A chaotic issue at the manor, some heartfelt moments, off-the-wall comedy, and everyone banding together as a loving family.
Ghosts Season 2's finale was a smash hit, showing us yet again why Ghosts is one of the best comedies on TV.
The arrival of the new heir seemed fishy right from the start.
I've watched enough daytime and primetime soaps to know that whenever a long-lost relative arrives out of the blue, they almost always want money.
