She graduated from the High School of Music and Art (now the Fiorello LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts). She received a bachelor of fine arts degree from Boston University. She was awarded a Guggenheim Memorial Fellowship for filmmaking.
She was a filmmaker and children's book illustrator who created nearly 200 instructive animated shorts for "Sesame Street". These cartoons describe numbers, letters of the alphabet, and other basic concepts for children.
