Cannes -- The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences will cooperate with the media authorities of the German state North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) in a partnership aimed at establishing a transatlantic dialogue between U.S. and German TV professionals.
The announcement was made by Academy president Bruce L. Paisner and Andreas Krautscheid, Nrw minister for federal and media affairs at Miptv Monday.
The cooperation will also serve to act as a showcase for made-in-nrw TV and film productions. Home to broadcast giants such as Rtl and Wdr, Nrw is the Europe’s number production location.
The initiative was spearheaded by Emmy-winning German producer Leopold Hoesch and, on the German side, will be under the patronage of minister Krautscheid, Michael Schmid-Ospach, CEO of the Nrw Film Board and Norbert Schneider, director of Nrw’s Media Authority.
