The cinematographer Wilhelm Goldberger already gained a foothold in the film business in 1915 by the film company of Heinrich Bolten-Baeckers. But his career was interrupted in 1917 with his entry into World War I.
After the war he was able to assert himself as a cinematographer and he became a leading specialist of his métier in the 20s.
