- SpouseMercedes Blackehart(October 8, 2006 - November 4, 2010) (divorced)
- Was a series regular on Tromaville Cafe' sketch comedy show. Reads poetry on National Public Radio. A veteran of over 50 plays off-Broadway and in London. Studied with Stella Adler, Uta Hagen, and at LAMDA (London).
- Blackehart's best friend, writer/director James Gunn, loosely based the role of "Steve" (played by Ty Burrell) in Dawn of the Dead (2004) on him.
- He was hand-picked by actor Mel Gibson to play Laertes in a theatre staging of William Shakespeare's "Hamlet". The play, which was to be presented at Los Angeles' Coronet Theatre, was to star troubled actor Robert Downey Jr. as the young (troubled) Prince of Denmark, with Gibson set to direct, Julia Roberts set to play (Laertes' sister and Hamlet-thrall) Ophelia, and Nigel Hawthorne was in talks to play Claudius. It was all for nought, though, as Downey's legal troubles surfaced again on November 26, 2000, effectively cancelling the production mere days before the scheduled start of rehearsals.
- Though he is often asked about a possible familial relationship to the late Marlon Brando, Blackehart refuted those suggestions in a 2006 interview with Lloyd Kaufman, stating "I am no relation to him that I know of. It seems to be a case of some anonymous internet graffiti that found its way into print when Brando passed away, and now is reported as fact on Wikipedia and other places around the web. I've given up trying to have it taken down, but it's nonetheless untrue".
