Exclusive: Yvette Nicole Brown (Disenchanted), Page Kennedy (The Upshaws), and Cameron Fuller (Zatima) have joined the cast of buddy action-comedy Code 3 opposite Rainn Wilson, Lil Rel Howery, and Aimee Carrero. Production is currently underway.
Brown plays Shanice, an experienced Ems supervisor who is always in control—well, most of the time. She knows Randy (Wilson), someone with who she has a colorful past. Shanice knows he’s burnt out and jaded, but she also knows he’s the best paramedic they’ve got, and she respects him for it.
Kennedy plays Officer Tagert, a police officer who frequently runs into Randy and Mike (Howery) in their ambulance on various calls. Tagert knows the system well and prefers that on any given call, the victim winds up going to the hospital, in which case it’s the paramedics’ paperwork, not his. Tagert doesn’t seem to mind helping them out when he can.

Stressful days at work take on new meaning when you're a paramedic, and in "Code 3," the upcoming buddy action-comedy from Wayfarer Studios and Circle of Confusion, two paramedics have the wildest day possible (all for our entertainment!). Deadline revealed that Lil Rel Howery ("Get Out") and Rainn Wilson ("Weird: The Al Yankovic Story") will star as the pair of paramedics, saving lives and making us laugh. "Code 3" is still in pretty early production, so details are subject to change and the cast will continue to grow, but the movie already sounds like a lot of fun.
The work of a paramedic might not seem all that funny (just look at "Bringing Out the Dead"), but given the bizarre situations that many people get themselves into, I can imagine there's still humor to be found. Not every call is a nightmare, and there's probably some ridiculous and funny stuff that happens too.

Order a strong coffee and pairs of quality running shoes for Rainn Wilson (Weird: The Al Yankovic Story) and Lil Rel Howery (Get Out) because the duo is getting behind the wheel of an unpredictable ambulance. The team inked a deal to executive produce and star in Code 3, an action-comedy about paramedics at the end of their rope. The project hails from Wayfarer Studios and Circle of Confusion, with production putting rubber to the road in Los Angeles in February.
Christopher Leone directs from a script by former paramedic Patrick Pianezza. According to Deadline, Code 3 focuses on a day in the life of two overworked, underpaid, and exhausted paramedics. One Emt, wasted from the job, forces himself to resign, though he must complete one more 24-hour shift before calling it quits. As you can imagine, everything that can go wrong does, leading the tired Emt and his replacement to a hellish shift of epic proportions.

Neil Gaiman has teamed up with Angry Films to develop a new sci-fi/fantasy TV series for Fox called The Building, and it sounds like a really cool and fascinating concept! The series is based on a digital film called Parallels that was written and directed by Chris Leone, and it centers on a multiverse skyscraper! Seriously, this series sounds awesome and different from anything that we’re seeing right now. Deadline offers up the following plot information:
The Building involves a large skyscraper that moves between alternate realities and a group of young urban explorers who are in the building and suddenly find themselves on an Earth wherein Reagan was not elected and Russia dropped the bomb. They then figure out they have a limited amount of time to figure out where they are and rescue members of their team before the building shifts again to another reality. They...

Since vampires are passé, and zombies are so 2010. So which mythical creature is up next? According to shows like Teen Wolf, it's werewolves, and My Damn Channel is trying to help make lycanthropes the next big fad. Wolfpack of Reseda stars Tate Ellington as Ben March, a simple office worker whose life takes a grizzly turn when he is bitten by a werewolf. The 'comedy' half of 'horror-comedy' relates to the show's mundane setting in the Los Angeles suburbs. Also, the sideburns Ben sports are patently ridiculous and a constant source of comedy in their own right. The series will arrive on YouTube and My Damn Channel on August 6th, with two trailers holding us over until the debut. Wolfpack of Reseda, which is produced by Fox Digital Studios,...

Call this the strange news item of the day, but it seems that Guillermo Del Toro has joined Motion Theory which is a commercial and music video production company. A week ago, I wrote an article called Looking Back at The Lost Room, where I did just that – took a look back at the fantastic 2006 SyFy series. Little did I know, the timing couldn't have been any better. While there were lots of exciting news that came out of Comic-Con, the one I'm personally most excited about is that The Lost Room will live on – in comic form! Just yesterday, I spoke with creators Christopher Leone and Laura Harkcom to get the details. They were both asked multiple times at Comic-Con if they had anything to do with the article I wrote as a way to lead up to their announcement of the comic, but they didn't. I just happened to write and publish it when I did.

For those fortunate enough to see The Monster Squad as a kid, the feeling of battling monsters was mutual among friends. The supernatural intrigued us because one moment, it was thrilling to be strong and able to kill these beasts. But then in a blink of an eye, the monsters could have the upper hand and corner you into being a helpless victim. The basic lesson learned though was simple: Kill or be killed. And that’s why we kill monsters... cuz they’re ugly.
